I had a interesting experience here, overall the staff was very nice and accommodating. My problem is with the lab that they use for retainers. I initially went in for a bottom retainer replacement because mine was lost. They took molds and I came back the following week for pickup. We noticed the new one wasn't long enough to cover my back two teeth (7's?). They took another set of molds and I came back the next week, same problem. Third time they got it long enough but it wasn't the same color I had chosen. At this point I said it's fine, as long as it fits. When I wore it for the first time I woke up with 3 small pieces of plastic in my mouth from the retainer, and who knows how much i ingested overnight. This was very upsetting! I called the office and got my money back because after so many times back and forth I was over it. Again, office staff was great, lab not so much! read more

I have been seeing Dr Meru for the past seven months and couldn't be more pleased (for reference I am an adult getting braces for the third time ). Dr. Meru is honest and pays close attention to detail. He took his time explaining my options, the pros and cons and ultimately supporting me in what I wanted. I have been a patient of Dr. Alter for about 3 years. Yesterday I had my last appointment and he said I am done! I never had braces in my younger years and as an older adult, my lower teeth were getting pretty bad. I had good teeth but they were pretty crooked and getting worse. Dr. Alter recommended Invisiline. This method took longer than braces but the outcome was really good. I now have straight teeth and a good bite. Additionally, both my boys were treated by Dr. Alter (with braces) to straighten their teeth. Again, the outcome was good. My experience with Dr. Alter AND his staff left me with a very professional and competent service. He and his staff are all very friendly, courteous, and professional. Both of my kids have gone through the braces process with Doctors Buto and Alter and (formerly) Redmond. All the Doctors here are simply the best! The staff is very friendly as are the nurse/tech staff. They keep you informed of your progress every step of the way. They do an excellent job of convincing the kids to take care of their teeth. As an adult getting braces for the first time and having a very crowded mess for teeth, I was a little scared. One year later, I now have the most perfect and straight teeth anyone could possibly ask for! Dr. Alter was so precise in his work and completely transformed my smile. As a young kid I had braces done by another orthodontist located on Ventura Road in Oxnard, CA (I will keep his name confidential) and my midline was so off it looked like I had three front teeth. Dr. Alter just removed my braces a few days ago. It seemed like yesterday that they had put them on. I was recommended to Dr. Buto and Dr. Alter when I lived in Thousand Oaks. They first saw my daughter when she was just 8 years old. They monitored her every 6 months until she was ready for her braces at the age of 15. Don't bother shopping around anymore. They're the real deal here, both the office staff and doctors. There's always attention to detail from everyone. Friendly staff and accommodating when I either have to reschedule appointments or have changes with insurance issues. We mostly saw Dr. Alter but if he ever wasn't available then Dr. Buto was on hand to see us. Dr. Alter was patient with my kids and with me and all my questions. I went to Dr. Alter after transferring from another orthodontist. Dr. Alter was able to work with the other doctor's placement of the brackets and correct my crossbite. The end result is spectacular! I just got my braces off and I no longer have a crossbite. Dr. Alter could not have done more of a fantastic job, especially since I even thought about going the surgical route.
