Uniquely named flavors and the ice cream is very creamy here...yum! Homemade is where it is at and Howdy offers floats and milkshakes too! I went with the Cold Brew and Cookies ice cream and it was uber rich but uber delish. Howdy employs some super amazing people too. Enjoy a scoop at the shop and then take some home for a late night indulgence. The sitting area is limited both inside as well as outside on the patio sidewalk. My husband and I try a new ice cream shop every month. This ranked in the top 3 for 2025. The owner Troy was working because the weather was too bad for the regular incredible employees to come in and he explained the whole concept. The mission of employing adults with special needs and delivering delicious ice cream!! The ice cream truly was delicious and all homemade. The velvety choco pb was insane - so smooth, almost like mousse. They have a trademarked "Dr. Pepper Chip" that's nostalgic to the childhood soda pop. Dr. Pepper licensed it to them for free to support their mission! Other notable faves: HOT Mexican hot chocolate, cinnamon roll. The gluten eating husband raved about the cookie nomster. The shop is so cute, vibrant, boosts the hard work of the employees and is such a welcoming environment. We will be back for sure. read more

Really awesome local spot for some delicious ice cream made from scratch! I like to explore new ice cream spots for date night and this one is definitely delicious and one we will revisit! A quaint atmosphere with colorful chairs and really lovely staff that help you choose your ice cream. I had the cinnamon roll flavor which is something I haven't had before and I LOVED it! I found this place in the Aurora, Co magazine I found at my hotel. We arrived and were greeted shortly after. The staff were so friendly. We sampled various flavors of ice cream before purchasing. They have some really cool and unique flavors! If you wonder what it would taste like, just ask them. The ice cream is homemade and everyone except the owner and one employee have disabilities (the mag said intellectual and developmental, but the person I spoke with said developmental, I believe). Either way, they are giving people a chance to build marketable skills they may not get otherwise. The store has a fun feel and vibe to it. It's colorful and has plenty of space to sit inside or out. This is a must visit ice cream shop. It's worth the trip! read more

The BEST ice cream ever. The chocolate peanut butter is sooo good. Lemon crunch, orange dreamsicle, mint chocolate chip - chocolate is my favorite but these are just crazy good. Sometimes you just got to treat yourself and getting ice cream at Howdy Homemade ice cream is the way to do it! I got their chocolate banana flavor. It was delicious! My husband got their mint flavored ice cream in the mint waffle cone. I had a taste and it was very good. It was neat that they had waffle cones in multiple flavors! That may have been the only time that I have seen that before! Everyone left feeling happy after our treat at Howdy Homemade Ice cream. Make sure to get one of their punch cards! Every visit you get a punch and when you visit 10 times you get to spin their wheel to win something! What a great incentive to keep people coming back! This place is awesome. Gives opportunities and awareness to people with disabilities. Gives profits to organizations that support them. Service is friendly, and so helpful. Always a smiling face greeting you here. Unique flavors without being too over the top like a lot of the trendy ice cream shops lean into. On this visit, our group had: - strawberry milkshake - Mexican chocolate - candy cane - cold brew cookie (I can't remember the actual name, sorry!) We all had a scoop of each, which was plenty serving size wise! And my son asked for a cone on the side, which he proceeded to break then use to scoop his bites with. They have different cone flavors, but we got the cinnamon, which tasted kind of like eating a churro with your ice cream. Everything we tried was creamy and delicious! Will definitely be back again! I went here with my grandkids to celebrate the end of school. What drew me was my students told me they had Dr. Pepper ice cream. My grandson LOVES Dr. Pepper. The two people working at the shop were pleasant and helpful. The ice cream was tasty, and they have flavored waffle cones. The shop has a mission to hire people with physical and intellectual disabilities. I like that. The cones were pricey, but not terribly out of line with ice cream shops. I don't mind paying a little extra to support their mission. read more

First off, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They're all super nice and take the time to get to learn their mission because it's meaningful and just a reminder to spread kindness. The store is very bright and colorful. Love all of the vibes here. The moment you enter, it's just a feel good store. The ice cream is delicious. I ordered the peppermint cream and strawberry milkshake and both were super creamy and smooth. I usually skip on waffle cones but the waffle bowl that we ordered was worth it. It's made as you order so it arrives warm. This will be the only waffle cone I order. read more

Not only does this place have a wonderful mission, they have wonderful ice cream! Their mission is to help people with disabilities have work. We spoke to I believe the manager, and he was really sweet and friendly. The waffle cones are made to order, so they taste amazing. You have the option of a bowl or a cone. Tell them while you're sampling flavors that you want the waffle cone! I sampled the peppermint and the cold brew & cookies and I loved it. This cute little spot is absolutely worth a try - you're struck with a delicate sweet smell when you walk through the doors which makes you absolutely want to taste the ice cream and the waffle cones they have! They have a variety of flavors and you can sample them before finalizing what you'd like. We sampled a few and my personal favorite was the chocolate velvet peanut butter which had the right blend of chocolate goodness that was for sure velvety (true to its name) and a good balance of peanut butter flavor. My husband was a fan of the Dr Pepper flavored ice cream. They also had a few interesting flavors like Mexican hot chocolate that had a really nice spice kick at the end along with your good old flavors like strawberry etc. The service was friendly and pleasant and we will absolutely be returning to try different flavors in the future! Must also add the mission of this cute ice cream shop which is to help those with disabilities work and profits to organizations that support those with disabilities - you know your money is not only going to an amazing cause AND delicious ice cream. Good small ice cream shop in a strip mall. I guess it's a chain from Texas. The ice cream was good, the prices were decent, they had outside and indoor seating. The staff was friendly and nice. And it was clean. Definitely go back again for ice cream. read more

After having coffee at Bitty and Beau's Maryland which gives opportunities to people with down syndrome and intellectual disabilities,I immediately searched it there were businesses that do the same in Colorado. It took a while, but I'm glad Howdy has opened up! What a great ice cream shop! The staff are very friendly and eager to work and chat. The ice cream was great and creamy. I had the chocolate and surprisingly the doctor pepper with chocolate sprinkles. The Dr pepper ice cream was interesting and while probably not my first choice of flavor, it was unique. Please support small businesses like this that gives back to the community but also independence to individuals who are disabled. It's such a gem if you're in the area! read more

This is the cutest ice and friendliest cream shop. I tried a cinnamon roll milkshake and it was delicious! They had a wide variety of unique flavours like Dr Pepper chocolate and cold brew and cookies. They also have lots of candy and chocolate too. There is a small area for sitting with a few tables as is typical for most ice cream shops. What I appreciate most is that the hire individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and donate a portion of proceeds to help individuals in the community. read more

I live really close to this place and go here pretty often. Immediately when I open the door I got greeted. The people that work here are always so nice and you can chat with them while you're there. But that's not the best part, I always get the cookie nomster ice cream or the shake for it and it's really good. This place is very good and I highly recommend it. read more

This should be the new summer ice cream hangout spot. It's a small place tucked away at the end of the strip mall but it has the funnest ambiance. It's quirky and bright. The staff is friendly and obliging. They served us huge scoops of ice cream (that is not a single scoop in that cone!!!) in a friendly and quick manner. The ice cream itself is phenomenal! It is rich and flavorful and a decadent treat! There are other sweet treats available as well and we will have to go back all summer to sample! read more

DELICIOUS and Supports the Special Needs Community! We LOVE Howdy Ice Cream, and always enjoy the staff and shop. The shop is adorable, and all of the ice cream flavors are so fun and yummy. My Autistic 5 year old Daughter feels welcomed, and loves the Dr Pepper Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (also my favorite). My Husband loves the Peanut Butter Chocolate Velvet. The Waffle Bowls and Cones have a hint of cinnamon, and are delicious! We always make sure to get a pint, to go. So happy we have this special ice cream shop... kinda close by. We drive 25 minutes to get there, but it's that kind of place. So worth it! read more
