If you're looking for a wedding planner who's professional but easy to work with, look no further…read morethan Justina of JL Events! This review is seriously long overdue as our wedding was way back in October 2022 at Casa Real (my apologies for the delay!) Early on in our engagement, my husband and I were ambivalent on the idea of hiring a wedding planner. We had already chosen several of our main vendors and thought we could save money and handle planning our wedding on our own but we were mistaken.  We were soon overwhelmed with all the details and started to have decision-making fatigue so we decided to look for a wedding planner. After quite a bit of research we chose Justina/JL Events and we are so grateful we did! Her services were definitely worth the investment. We highly recommend Justina for wedding planning and coordination. She is professional but personable, trustworthy, and very easy to work with. She had great communication from the start and all throughout the preparation for our big day; her responsiveness was amazing. During our first meeting, Justina quickly identified our needs and vision and created a detailed timeline for our wedding planning. She helped us narrow down design choices and accompanied us to meetings with vendors. We were impressed by her organization and proactive approach! Having Justina as our planner helped alleviate much of the stress that comes with planning a large wedding (we had about 260 guests.) There were several instances in which we were frustrated dealing with unresponsive vendors but Justina was great at facilitating communication and even helped us find better companies to work with. Justina helped us stay on track during rehearsal day and was an expert problem-solver. She coordinated with our vendors and the staff at Casa Real with ease and was patient with us and our large wedding entourage. On the day of our wedding, Justina and her assistant Dana took such great care of us and we were able to enjoy our wedding celebration! Justina truly demonstrated her expertise with event coordination. We really appreciated her taking so many behind-the-scenes photos and videos, too! She also created our beautiful wedding cake topper and welcome sign. Thank you Justina for helping us have the wedding of our dreams! We are forever incredibly grateful for you!

She is not only detail oriented, responsive, organized, and professional, but she is also thoughtful and personable. She even helped save us money on not going into over-time with our wedding venue! She also saved our wedding timeline (we initially had an early start time for our ceremony because we thought sunset photos were always taken afterwards, but she helped us move things around and coordinated with our photographer to really make our timeline better and more efiicient)! Leading up to our wedding day, she was on multiple video calls with us to make sure we were on track and had everything we needed. She was so good at anticipating our needs and helping us execute every little detail that we wanted for our wedding day. I also knew Justina was good because she helped plan my best friend's wedding, who was my matron of honor at my wedding! A full circle moment haha. Justina was so professional, but working with her also felt like planning my wedding with a friend. She is so kind and sweet and I will truly miss working with her. She even helped to keep me warm when I was standing outside in cold December night weather. We really couldn't have done it without Justina and we are SO glad we picked her to be our wedding coordinator. We couldn't have asked for a better person to help us plan the best day of our lives!

Overall, amazing experience with TDE and highly recommend!…read more We needed a Cantonese-English bilingual day-of-coordinator and MC for our wedding in Sacramento, and we decided to go with Carina (coordinator) and Jackson (MC). Although we did not purchase a full package from TDE, Carina and Jackson worked seamlessly with the rest of our chosen vendors. They (and the TDE team) were extremely organized, communicative, and supportive. One thing I really appreciated was that my husband was cc'd on every single email so that I wouldn't have to play middle man to relay every message to him as well. On the day of, Carina and Jackson went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. They were so thoughtful and considerate throughout the entire process. We got so many compliments from our family members about Jackson's MCing. Our wedding party also really loved how Carina kept everyone organized and on schedule. She was also able to seamlessly communicate with our Chinese restaurant venue to make sure our requests were met. Thank you so much Carina, Jackson, and Jessica!

Otis was kind with great attention to detail from the start. Ultimately, we decided with the glam package and our contract was very clear to understand with cost breakdown for removal of specific services / add-ons. I updated it many times with Jessica, our planner, as we made changes throughout the months, and she was always so patient and clear. Our MC Otis did a wonderful job with maintaining flow of the program. Otis was also working as DJ for a good portion of the evening, so props to him! We had closer to an hour compared to 1.5 hours of open dancing because we were behind schedule, but everybody was on the dance floor and he kept the party going seamlessly. Weddings are hectic and there are so many moving parts; we did get behind schedule but we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Our photo & video services were set to end, but Otis was very professional in discussing with us if we wanted to extend our video services, communicative on additional cost, at the moment. Our photographer, Ben, along with the team Stanford and videographer, Christina, were so fun to work with. Ben was great at providing direction, which is especially helpful since we were not used to posing. I have not received photo & video yet as it has only been a week, but from an experience standpoint, they were attentive to detail, communicative, and glided effortlessly through the event. My makeup artist, Vivi, is the sweetest person. She was super attentive to detail and my particular skin type. I was worried about makeup because I don't wear heavy makeup often. I ended up paying for a make-up trial, and I was so happy working with Vivi that I had no worries for the wedding day. We also added-on make up for our mothers, which Vivi did the morning of. The reception decor turned out so pretty! Everything was set-up as scheduled. I was really happy with the welcome backdrop and name sign. It was also great to take pictures with guests with the backdrop since we had time during cocktail hour. We asked TDE to incorporate a large screen as the backdrop of our sweetheart table, so we found an example from a previous wedding they did, and it turned out exactly as expected. We added the photo-booth, which was so popular with the guests! There were so many cool props and our guests were having tons of fun with it. I also sent TDE a custom drawing that I wanted for the photo strips- and it turned out just like I imagined. We chose Grand Dynasty as our reception venue, and TDE communicated set-up details with our restaurant event manager, Esmond, in the days leading up to the event. I highly recommend TDE and the team that we worked with! Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience.

My wedding day wouldn't have been a success without their help! A while back, my friend told me that she used One Plus One Wedding Services (OPOWS) for her wedding in 2019. She had good things to say about them. My SIL's friend also used OPOWS, so I figured that if a few of my mutual connections have used this vendor, then I should work with them as well. Since I didn't have a wedding planner, going with a one-stop shop wedding services package was definitely a big help. It made my wedding execution seamless! I reached out to OPOWs about a year before my wedding date. Aggie is the main person who runs OPOWS. Aggie was super responsive with our conversations. She informed me about the wedding service package options. I decided to go with the Plus Package option which includes: photographer, videographer, wedding dresses (which I didn't use), Emcee, DJ (I gave the DJ our custom playlist since my husband and I wanted to pick our songs), hair and make-up artist, reception decorations, and chair covers. We scheduled to meet a few times before my wedding. Aggie was super helpful with providing recommendations and tips. I could tell that she really cares about her clients and wants to leave a good impression. Nearing my wedding date, she provided me with a run down schedule so that I could coordinate with her team and the external vendors that she partnered with. We made sure that my wedding day itinerary made sense. On the day of my wedding, I met most of my vendors in person. I was definitely stressed out because I always have this fear that something will go wrong. But to my surprise, all of my vendors did an excellent job on my wedding day. I could tell that they really enjoyed their job and tried to help me make the most out of my wedding day. Throughout the wedding and after the wedding, I received so many compliments from my guests in regards to the wedding decorations, the vendors we used, and etc. I made sure to advertise OPOWS to my guests in case they want to work with a one-stop shop vendor haha. Thank you again Aggie and team! My wedding day was very memorable and filled with happy memories! NOTE: If you're Chinese and can speak some Cantonese, this would make communicating a lot easier. Aggie, her team, and the external vendors that she works with are Chinese. There was a slight language barrier when communicating with Aggie and the external vendors since my Chinese isn't that great haha. But overall, we were able to communicate and get through the wedding planning!

We paid extra for our photographer (Tang) and my MUA (Hera) was amazing. Hera was my main point of contact regarding any upgrades, questions, or changes to our package. While Hera was on vacation, I worked with Aggie to discuss and finalize the decorations of the venue. I picked out my potential dresses months in advance and Hera put them on hold for me as another bride was interested in one of the dresses I picked out. The MC and DJ were assigned a month before the actual wedding to discuss a song list and anything the MC needed to confirm and know in advance. Our MC was Jason and he was very lively and made the night more fun with his enthusiasm. The entire team was very patient and worked with me throughout the whole planning process as I had many questions and requests. I'm really glad I booked OPO because I didn't need to deal with additional vendors and could focus on what I really wanted for my wedding that OPO didn't cover. Everything came out amazing and I would highly highly recommend their service for anyone debating on booking a package for their wedding.

Her company plans the ENTIRE wedding so you don't have to worry about anything except what you want and how you want it. Coordination: Carol is extremely professional, thoughtful, communicative (we exchanged many many emails while I was on the other side of the US), and patient (she had to explain many things to me and did so with tact)! She was there with me every step of planning, reassuring me the night before, encouraging me on the day of, and making sure both my husband and I were having fun and staying hydrated. Decorations: The wall drapings and lighting transform your venue into a mini wonderland. Highly recommend it though it can be pricey! Table decor was a mix of my DIY and Carol's expertise - what can I say but simple and elegant? DJ/Emcee: Guests really loved the 2 bilingual emcees and wanted to know where I found them - through my coordinator! They made sure the banquet flowed at a good pace (of course with Carol's guidance) and everyone was entertained. Guests also loved the tasteful mix of music the DJs played. Makeup/hair: Kelly stayed with me the whole day and made me into a very beautiful bride. She took my comments during the trial session seriously and made amazing changes on the day of. I had a total of 4 dresses accompanied by 4 different hairstyles and makeup. Cake: Carol's company also handles your cake - please let her! Coincidentally, I found the same bakery before hiring Carol though I wish I hadn't. I had my own cake tasting after I arrived back in the Bay Area; my husband had already tried a slice. The baker wouldn't let me try the flavor my husband had and only let me try one. I'm sure Carol would have pulled out her awesome negotiating skills and made the cake tasting experience better. More bizzarely, the bakery called me on the day of the wedding asking why I hadn't picked up $200 worth of cookies...suffice it to say, the baker is amazing with cakes but not so good with organizational skills.

When it came to my overall floral aesthetic, i didnt know where to begin. Everything on Pinterest looked so beautiful. I sent Vicky my mood board and let her take the wheel - let me tell you, she 100% delivered. We discussed my budget and decided that silk flowers would be the best choice. I was a little hesitant and afraid it would look cheap, but it was the absolute opposite! Dont get me wrong, of course up close you can tell they aren't real. But you can tell her product is of great quality. When i looked at my venue in whole, i couldnt even tell. The florals photographed so beautifully! I debated writing this review, but I felt compelled to share our experience. This review is not to…read moreslander Queen Bridals in any way, but to offer honest feedback that may encourage some reflection. Like many couples, we approached our wedding with excitement. A friend referred us to Vicky, and we didn't think twice. In hindsight, perhaps we should have done more research, but we are easygoing people. We communicated our vision, gave Vicky creative freedom, and trusted her as a professional. We weren't difficult. We asked for something simple, elegant, and meaningful. Instead, we experienced stress, embarrassment, and disappointment. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Vicky voiced concerns that our venue, Koi Palace, was too small. We reassured her we had attended several beautiful weddings there ourselves, space doesn't seem to be an issue. While she eventually said she'd make it work, her lingering doubt was noticeable. On the day of the wedding, I arrived at the venue at 5:20 PM and found our guests waiting outside due to the venue not being ready. Inside, I observed Vicky and her team still working and did not wrap up until 6:00 PM, the scheduled start time of our reception. Later, Vicky insisted she had finished by 5:30 PM and had time to mingle with our vendors, but that version didn't align with what I witnessed or what our vendors shared. The most heartbreaking part came when my wife and I stood before the photo backdrop to take pictures with our guests. Instead of our correct monogram, the backdrop displayed the letters "V & A," despite my wife's name starting with a "J". Our guests noticed and pointed it out. We were stunned. To us, this wasn't a minor mistake, it was a glaring and deeply embarrassing moment. We ended up removing the initials ourselves. Even then, we didn't lash out. We waited, hoping Vicky might follow up to ask how the day went. She didn't. Two days later, I reached out and met with Vicky in person. I calmly asked how she thought the event went. She indicated everything went great and didn't recall any issues. When I showed her a photo of the incorrect initials, she looked at it without immediately recognizing the mistake. Only after I pointed it out did she acknowledged it and offered to Photoshop the images as a solution. That moment was disheartening. It showed a lack of understanding of what her role meant to us. This wasn't about a photo, it was about how we felt in a moment that can't be edited. It was about getting the basics right on a day that only happens once. After expressing our disappointment, we asked Vicky for a 30 percent refund. Not out of spite or anger, but because we truly felt the value of the service fell short of what was promised. The emotional weight of her error left an unsavory impact throughout our evening. We didn't demand the refund on the spot. I encouraged her to sleep on it and consider our perspective, to put herself in our shoes. She appreciated how non-confrontational we were and ultimately verbally agreed to the refund via Zelle. Three days went by. Nothing. I followed up with a message. No response. Eventually, Vicky replied and asked to speak. During our conversation, she reversed course and said she no longer felt the refund was warranted. She maintained the decor had been finished well before 6:00 PM and sent us a video of guests taking their seats at 6:01 PM, which only confirmed she or her team were still at the venue at that time. Technically, she completed the decor by the start time, which falls within the contract, and while we shared our plans for pre-reception desserts and snacks, we cannot fault her for that aspect. As for the wrong initials, to her credit, Vicky was apologetic to some degree and acknowledged the error, but indicated a 30 percent refund was unrealistic. I explained again this wasn't about a backdrop, it was about my wife being displayed by the wrong name, in front of everyone, on her wedding day. It was about the emotional toll and the lapse in attention to detail, especially when Vicky had worked almost exclusively with my wife during planning. How that mistake happened is still beyond me. Candidly, Vicky admitted to mixing up my wife's name with another bride. In the end, Vicky refunded 7.5 percent, stating since we removed the initials, it didn't technically ruin the wedding. No, it didn't ruin the wedding. But it undoubtedly affected how we felt. It cast a shadow over the night. It made us feel discounted, dismissed, and ultimately shorted of a service we were counting on. I believe Vicky put effort into her work. I believe she cares to a point. But her unwillingness to follow through on her word or genuinely consider the emotional impact of her mistake left us deeply disappointed. Mistakes happen, but how you respond to them matters just as much as the service you provide.
