Bahman is really nice and knowledgeable, but unfortunately this was the worst (and priciest) haircut of my life :( He was also kind enough to even do our haircuts on his lunch break, so perhaps this is my fault for rushing his work. I am very grateful that he fit me into his really busy schedule when he didn't have to. He was pretty good at the men's haircut, and when he did mine, he left it to air dry so I couldn't tell it was so bad until I looked in the mirror later. The bangs are uneven and my hair is really thick and straight, so the ends are both choppy and sticking out all around my head. On the bright side, my hair feels very soft. I would recommend treatments here, but not a haircut. read more

I had an appointment with Bahman on Friday. Bahman is one of the kindest and warmest people I've ever met, and he seemed to handle this mishap very professionally. because of this, i am not asking for a refund or anything like that. What happened was, i came in with completely virgin hair after having a bad experience with a hairdresser four years ago. i waited about three years to grow my hair out and I was ready to be blonde again. Bahman had amazing reviews of Yelp so I trusted he would be able to Balayage my hair. I asked him for Balayage and showed him specific pictures of Balayage. I said i wanted it to be natural and i asked him not to touch my roots. He said he had Balayaged many times and he knew what he was doing. Two hours later, my hair comes out completely bleached. No balayaging was done at all. My hair was bleach blonde and the paint job was harsh and chunky. I told him what he did was not what I asked for. he told me to come back in two hours after his next client. I did. after about a half an hour of trying to explain what Balayage i wanted to him-- he blended the color out with other colors. he touched hair near my roots that I asked him not to with some copperycolor that brings out the natural copper color already in my hair-- not what I want. basically I don't know what happened but i did not under any circumstances get what I wanted or paid for (besides the time he spent on my hair). it is not balayage. it's basically all lighter with a carmely orangey color at the top. in order to fix this i am planning on going somewhere else to blend out the harsh bleach line that is still visible. this worries me because the last thing i wanted was to have to go in for regular appointments to a salon to make it look like a natural grow out. i wanted it to simply be a natural grow out with balayage. again, Bahman was professional, kind and restraint during all of this. I appreciate that grately. i just truly don't know what went wrong. if he didn't know how to balayage my hair i wish he had said something before harshly painting bleach on it and causing me to need to go to someone else to fix what should have been natural in the first place. afterward he said that the bleach job was what he thought i asked for-- and i don't know if he was just embaressed and panicking or something but i think it was very clear what i wanted since i said Balayge over four times at the beginning and showed him pictures. my hair turning out nothing like the pictures. according to my best friend, i looked like a barbie doll. again, thank you Bahman for trying to fix it. I just don't think it's fair that I had my hair damaged without leaving with what i came in and paid money for. ALSO When I called Peggy (who I thought was the head of Butterfly Esthetics), about this, she answered and said "Who is this, Seriously? Fuck you!" and hung up. I had to call multiple times so that I could finish my voicemails-- i had a lot to say-- and i also called at night. I understand why she would be upset if her ringer was on-- and i understand that I was calling late. I was very surprised and thought the way she responded was unprofessional. read more

I just got the best haircut and beard trim of my life from Bahman. It was my first time working with him. He charges a lot for a men's haircut, $45, but he spent an hour working on my hair which is twice as long as anyone else I've worked with. He talks a lot so you have to be ready for that, but he gave me so much great information. He has a passion for beauty. It sounds like he has spent his life seeking out what beauty is. This includes studying at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles. During my haircut he showed me how the shape of my face and the direction my hair grew affected how I should have it cut. He also shared lots of information about how to care for and style my hair. The most impressive work he did was with my beard. Before I just kept it short and kept my neck shaved. He showed me how bringing down my beard line accentuated my mustache and trimmed the sides of my beard shorter which made a big difference. Peggy has been great in helping me heal severe acne - she knows her stuff! Everything from the facials to the topical products to the Harmonized Waters she has recommended I use, all have been crucial to getting my skin (and body) back to a healthy, balanced state. I've been amazed to experience such incredible benefits from the Harmonized Waters. I was 100% sold when I used the UV protection Harmonized Water when I was at a music festival this summer; I took the recommended dose of water 3 times throughout the day and used no other sunscreen (except for a hat!), wore shorts and a tank top, and at the end of the whole day in the hot sun I had absolutely NO sunburn.
