I really wanted to love it. I like a SLICE of pie from a pie shop (more homey), not a mini pie in a small foil cup. This place only has mini pies and Large pies for sale. The mini pies were all refrigerated and were mostly cream pies (peanut butter, coconut custard, Key lime, etc) The whole pies for sale were more like pecan , apple and berry. We chose a mini key lime pie for $6 (which I thought was pricey for Texas). The only utensils they offer are wooden - and I have a real dislike of wooden sticks in my mouth (it's a real thing my friend make fun of called "xylophobia") I hate the taste of the wood and I fear splinters for some reason. Anyway, lucky my hubby had a plastic fork in the car. The key lime was tasty, but pretty small for $6. The counter gal was very nice and agreed she also didn't like wooden utensils! read more

After my favorite location in Allen closed, I am glad that somebody bought a franchise in Forney. This location doesn't accept online orders ( maybe because of the holidays) but you have to go and check out what is left, no guarantee that they have all the flavors! Same quality, same taste. Will go back again. read more

Got a small apple pie. Hands down one of the worst pies I've ever had. The pie was not cooked properly the whole top of the pie was moist and goopy. There was flour or cornstarch still on some of the apple. I asked for a refund and the employee didn't even know how to refund or could get permission to refund me. I'm having to wait and follow up to be refunded which is silly. I returned the pie within a few minutes of purchasing it and showed the pie to the employee. read more

I ordered a dozen four inch pies. Including; cherry, apple, chocolate cream, key lime, snickerdoodle, and peanut butter. Peanut butter was the best! Light and airy peanut butter with a chocolate graham crust.... Chocolate cream and cherry were bomb too. Key lime lacked. Little punch to me, but it was still really tasty. I went here after my dentist appointment as I really wanted to check this place out. Out on display they have the mini pies and on the counter the larger pies. I am sure the bigger ones are in the back in the refrigerator. So mini pies are 1 - $4.75 4 for $16 12 for $50 Large pies are - $26 I ended up getting the 4 for $16 dollars so we can try each of them. They do have a rewards program which is very nice and the cashier said they do add up really quickly and I was laughing at that part, but I understand why now as they were addicting. My wife and I ended up eating all 4 of the pies for lunch and then for dinner, it was that great. We tried the following 1. Southern Custard 2. Coconut Cream Pie 3. Key Lime Pie 4. Peanut Butter One My favorite one had to be the coconut cream pie, but my wife said it was very sweet, but it is the way I like it. I would definitely come back here again. I've had the opportunity to get a pie from buttermilk Sky pie shop on three occasions now and they haven't let me down yet. The pies are always delicious but I would have to say my favorite is the I-40. I've also tried and liked the peanut buttercream, Nana's pecan, And Granny's Apple. They also have a variety of seasonal pies available throughout the year, for instance at the time of me writing this review I believe their seasonal pie is spiced pumpkin pie. A great place to get all kinds of pies. Went in over Thanksgiving and the employee, maybe the owner, was super sweet. Super helpful.

I tried their key lime pie and it is perfectly balanced! It's not overly tart and not overly sweet either. The graham crust also tastes fresh and complemented the key lime! I cannot wait to come back and try their other flavors for my cheat day! read more

Upon entering you notice the cute farmhouse, rustic decor (my home decor btw), but are immediately drawn to the euphoric smells of warm vanilla and sugar. Very tasty treats. I adore their mini selection of 4 pies. Each one is two servings for us so we get 8 desserts! Prior to getting it here I had never had Buttermilk pie! A must try, I get it every time I go in now. Their fruit pies are seasonal so call ahead if you want something specific, they may not have it. read more

We tried the sampler and we loved both the strawberry pie (seasonal) and the apple pie. Those are the ones we tried and really liked. The other ones were meh. I don't even remember which the other ones were which says something. I would recommend this place for a special occasion or to bring to a dinner party. The pies are absolutely amazing! My husband moved down to Forney back in December, found the shop immediately, and raved about the pie flight. I finally got to try some recently and it is BEYOND amazing! I personally got the Coconut Cream Pie, which was delicious and the coconut on top was perfectly toasted. By chance, I spotted this gem from the road, and made a stop here. Glad I did. Very nice boutique pie shop, bakery in back, and with Drive-thru window! Staff was awesome providing background & info, convinced me to buy a 4 pie deal. Regular sized pies, and 4 inch pies. Also catering order 2 inch pies. There are tags, cards, & labels for gifting. Wooden single use forks, spoons, & server too. If the pie is a gift to yourself, have a seat inside, or outside in front. You won't make it to your car. I ate the Southern Custard first. The crust seemed like a sugar cookie, light & sweet, and great Custard flavor filling. I have 3 more to take home, if I can resist. Parking here is the challenge, the parking lot dead-ends, if full, you must back-out. Better to park & walk a little bit, or use drive-thru. Buttermilk Sky Pie is located on a very busy street in Forney, TX. Be careful not to miss your turn into the parking lot. Aside from the logistic issues, this little shop is amazing to get your fat on. LOL. They even have a drive thru. The staff is friendly and nice! They even have a punch card that will earn you a free pie after so many purchases. Food Review: Southern Custard - smooth, creamy, sweet filling with perfect crust, is soooo yummy. It taste like a homemade Chest Pie ( if you've had one) Key Lime - perfect balance of tart and sweet filling in a graham cracker crust is terrific. It's my favorite, if I dare to have one. Chewy Chocolate Chip - it tastes like a chocolate chip cookie. It's ok and better with ice cream. Nanny's Pecan - sweet, sticky, gooey filling, overloaded with pecans will satisfy any sweet tooth. After our Saturday night Cajun dinner, we needed sugar fix so Mr Google led us here. The place is small and located inside of a strip mall. The parking slots are small so heads up if you have an SUV with those doors. You enter and have small cakes running close to $5. The inside is small and really no place to sit and eat it. The cashier really didn't help just and just kept looking at us. The family each selected a different pie so we can see who's belly would be happier. The pies are the size of a frozen pot pie. Our selection included chocolate silk, pecan and chocolate, banana cream pie and chocolate chip. The chocolate silk wasn't that light but ok. First thing that comes to mind: sweet The shortbread crust is a great texture, and a great pairing with the pie fillings. My only complaint is you end up with a sugar high with the level of sugar they put within the crust and filling. The sugar doesn't overtake the flavoring of ingredients but is a strong point where your teeth and heart hurt after. read more

OMG. If you want a homemade pie . This is the place to go! They have single pie for one person. Or you can always get a whole pie. Some of our favorites are Key-lime, Custard, Chocolate Chip pies, and at least 7 or 8 more pie flavors. They even have a drive-Thru. They have only been open about a year or 18 month's. The crust is a lovely shortbread crust, so it's not the flaky pie crust that most people expect. Don't let that deter you, the only thing you'll regret is not getting a full sized pie. read more

Amazing pies with delicious flavors for individual servings. I use them for family events and small intimate dinners and gatherings. It gives my guests the option to have an amazing dessert. They can choose to eat it all or take it home since it comes with its own top. The workers are always so nice and explain any new pie choice's available. read more

How do you not give this place 5 stars? Delicious! I mean my goodness! I especially love that they have 4" pies, just enough for a great desert without having a full size pie, imo a perfect portion. So far I have tried to key lime and the peanut butter pies and I cant figure out which one I like more. My wife had the blueberry and the chewy chocolate chip and she said the same thing, too good to decide. Give this place a try, you wont regret it. Price is high for the pies but it's worth it. Southern custard is a must try. They no longer do punch cards though.

This is a very cute pie shop. I love the mini pies that I can eat and not feel guilty about eating an entire pie by myself.
