This company is the worst! Their lack of communication is beyond bad. Andrew is rude. I had to go through them as there is no other option with Lowes on Maui. I contacted him three times with messages trying to find out when they were going to be setting up the drape installation after the drapes had already been delivered. He never apologized for not getting back with me and he was very rude telling me not to contact Lowes and wait for his person named Sheila to call me no later than 11/18 and set an appointment to hang the drapes. On 12/4/25. I called Lowe's installation and told them I had never heard from him again. They called and spoke with Andrew and he told them that Randy would come out and spend the night in Maui on 12/11 and install the drapes on 12/12. Immediately after Andrew Buxton called me and told me the same thing. I asked when I would get notified of their arrival. He said 2 to 3 days ahead of time. 12/11/25 4:04 PM HST I left a message on Shannon and Andrew Buxton's Phone Numbers as to when they would be coming out, as that day was the day they were supposed to be there, and I had never heard from them As to what time.. I also emailed Andrew Buxton. Lowes also left them a message 12/11. 12/12/25. I called Lowes and spoke with James and installation to tell them I had never heard from Buxton blinds and they put me on hold and tried calling them and it went to VM just like when I tried calling. Lowes left a message for Buxton Blinds. It ended up that Andrew Buxton contacted Lowes installation, which contacted me and indicated that they would be out on 12/12. I didn't get that notification until 12/12 and I had to contact the leasing agent to be there as the notification was the same day. I asked Lowes if I could go through another company prior to all this happening and they told me that that is their only contractor that they use and they have to fly that them in from California and if I went with another company, they'd have to start the process all over again, including scheduling a measurement for the drapes from the beginning. Below was my Lowe's experience of trying to buy the drapes. These measurements for the drapes were purchased on 9/13. The person that I bought them from at Lowe's went on vacation immediately without giving me an estimate. I had paid for the measurement and never heard back from her. I Sent her an email on 9/17 and 10/10. Then I contacted Grant, her boss in the Lowe's Maui store and he assured me that he would get me a quote. I talked to him on 10/10,;10/11 And emailed him the emails I had sent to Mary on 9/13, 9/17 and10/10. He emailed me back saying he would have an estimate for me on Monday 10/12 10/13 Grant emailed me he was still working on the quote and on 10/15 He emailed me saying he needed to wait until Mary was back. On 10/22 and on my 7th call trying to get through to Maui Lowes I spoke with someone at the pro desk and they told me Grant no longer works there. Dennis was now the supervisor that was taking over and I heard from him on 10/31 that Andrew Buxton would be the one taking care of hanging the drapes. Fortunately, Dennis gave me a good deal on the drapes, but had I known what I would've had to go through between Lowes and Andrew Buxton I NEVER would have done it and would have gladly paid more to not have the hassle. read more

We recently bought a new home and worked with Buxton Blinds to take care of our Window Treatments. The most beneficial part of this situation is that we worked through them when we were shopping at Costco one day. They were asking if anyone wanted to purchase blinds inside the warehouse while we were shopping. Then....wait for it....wait for it...READ MY LIPS.....20% COSTCO SHOPPING CARD WITH THE PURVCHASE OF OUR BLINDS!!!!!! That's right! Whatever we spent, we got 20% of the purchase price back on a Costco Shopping Card. You guys know Blinds aren't cheap, so even with a modest style you could get a lot of money on a Costco Card. A few days after we put in our name at Costco, we got an appointment scheduled. The woman who came to our house was a little disheveled and had so many books that it looked like she was living out of her car...BUT she knew her stuff! After some thoughtful consideration, she helped us into the style we ultimately chose. She was very helpful and not pushy at all. We were told it would be about 5 weeks for our blinds to get installed, but it was more like 2-3 weeks, so we were pleasantly surprised with that! The only downside is that we were not offered temporary blinds until right before our actual blinds came in, so our neighbors got a look into our lavish (NOT!) lifestyle complete with cardboard boxes for furniture for all that time. It would have been nice to know that temporary blinds were offered at the time we ordered our blinds, but all in all it wasn't too inconvenient. Buxton Blinds took care of us with good service and a high quality product and super efficient installation. We would recommend them - especially if you can pair them up with the Costco offer! read more

Embarrassing as it was, blinds weren't a huge priority as we were settling in our new home. We finally pushed it up to our list and decided that we needed help. Making an appointment was extremely easy and we were able to get someone in fairly quickly. Shawna was friendly, personable and responsive. She made coordinating the entire install easy. My only feedback is that the sales rep that came to do the consultation was a bit awkward. He didn't provide us with a lot of recommendations which is something we were looking for and the conversation around us moving from the Bay Area was.. Not as friendly. It took a little bit of warming up for the conversation to lighten. Overall, the prices were affordable especially for getting 12 windows custom fitted. April, 10,2023. I received 3 out of the 9 that I ordered on Dec,9, 2023. The 3 had missing parts, which Andrew ordered on the day of install and they have been received by Buxton. They replaced the papers blinds with new paper blinds promptly since my order was short . I am awaiting for 2 in my living room , one in the kitchen, 2 for French doors and 1 in my master bedroom. Andrew is great with communication and is very nice, but it's now getting very warm outside and still with paper blinds. I'm giving a rating based on the post installation customer service experience. My husband had previously given a 5 star review after the install of our shades in our San Diego home. Our original 5 star review was based on our satisfaction with the installation process and the quality of the blinds. Since our installation, we had one of our blinds stop working and the remote device was not connecting. I personally reached out to Andrew requesting assistance troubleshooting over the phone. He was less than interested in doing so & directed me to contact Shauna via text, his scheduling assistant. I had texted Shauna to which she never responded. I texted Andrew back to let him know that Shauna had not responded. Andrew also chose to ignore my text. My husband finally called Andrew directly a few days later hoping to troubleshoot with him over the phone and again directed him to Shauna. He said the issue was likely that someone in our home had pushed a bunch of buttons on the remote and messed up the connection between it and the remote. Shauna finally did respond stating that they would not come out without a paid service call, the full amount sent to them in advance via "Zelle" (which seemed a little suspicious for a business to do before they even diagnose the problem). To me, this is NOT customer service! After 6 months of trying to get them to Given my frustration and disappointment with Buxton's post-installation services, I looked up other businesses in the area and reached out to a higher rated company who amazingly came out to our home FREE of charge to do an inspection the next day, found out it wasn't the remote at all, but rather the motor had burnt out. This company reached out to Graber on our behalf and secured a replacement under their warranty program. Within 2 weeks, we had a new working blind installed. The only cost to us was the install charge which was half the cost of what Buxton was trying to charge us for their service diagnostic call and we weren't charged anything in advance of the actual services being performed. This other company now gained a customer for any future needs in our home. I am expecting a defensive response from Andrew to my review as I can see he has responded to all his lower reviewed customers in this manner. Attaching proof of my text conversation with Andrew to support my claim which you can see in his short less than customer service oriented response to me. Do yourself a favor & find another business for your blinds/shades needs. As much as we prefer to support local family businesses, this one was always all about money before customer service. Probably should be a zero. Ordered our shutters 6 full months prior to when we wanted them installed. They were paid up front. Long story short - Buxton did not install them until 6 months AFTER we needed them. There was an issue where they were never ordered. I suspect there was some type of financial issue with Buxton Blinds... We didn't get the shutters we expected. Installation always had something go wrong... after a while just got tired of calling them to fix things. Save yourself time and money and a whole lot of aggravation - don't use Buxton Blinds. read more

Buxton Blinds just installed our Graber composite louvered shutters. Brady, the installer was on time, very clean, efficient and friendly. He worked quickly and efficiently, making sure all the corners were aligned, then caulked any tiny remaining gaps. When the shutters didn't arrive with the split tilt hinge we requested, he took care of it and made the shutters operate in the split tilt we ordered. Then, he cleaned off any scuffs that happened during shipping. Our shutters look GREAT! Buxton Blinds should be proud to have Brady representing their name. read more

I order Norman shutter and waited for 6 months, then I asked about the delay Andrew said due to Shipping and finally give up and ask to change for Hunter he installed some shutters and said it was hunter but the warranty he provided not genuine since I couldn't able to register, and for remaining shutters waited for almost 15 months still he could not make it, finally I asked to provide some solution, he said that he can change to shades, I asked him atleast install some shades from Graber brand he agreed but after 18 months he install some very cheap brand which I think he brought from Temu, so don't trust this business they are not genuine read more

Our experience with the Buxton blinds team has truly been great - when we bought our home back in July, we reached out to a few companies for quotes and Andrew not only provided the best estimates, he also provided the best customer service just in the hour or so he was at our house - to top it off, they provided free temporary shades that were installed the next day in about 30 mins until our order arrived which for us was amazing since we have a few large street facing windows. Once our shades arrived, they not only looked amazing (we did roller shades all through out the house) but the team made sure it was installed perfectly and everything was met to our liking. Fast forward 6 months later and we had to do some construction on walls and had to remove some blinds. Once complete, I reached out to Shauna (who is very easy to get a hold of by the way) and ask if they could help reinstall a few blinds. Again - their customer service shined. They had someone out in a few days of my request and on top of that, he had to make some adjustments to the original shade since it no longer fit the window and they handled that within a few hours and made sure it looked great as well - all for no charge! So all the stars on here are nothing but hype. I ordered shutters and rolling blinds for my entire house and it took about 2.5 months to install. Not to mention you have to pay in full in advance so they can order the products. My installment date finally arrive and I'm completely excited until the installer tells me that one of my bedroom frames were measured incorrectly and the rolling blinds for my patio were never ordered. So that means I have to wait another 2.5 months?! Seriously?! The guy Andrew that came to my house initially had ONE job! Yah One! No okay 2, sell me products and measure. What a joke!!! The customer service is okay until they get annoyed by your follow up calls. Unbelievable! Go to HOME DEPOT or better yet order the products from China and get a handyman to install! Maybe if you measure it yourself you will get the right products shipped to you. We really wanted to like and recommend this company and usually support local and family owned businesses but unfortunately our experience through this business has been far from a 5 star. Similar to another review on here, we also decided to do shutters by norman on majority of our windows, roller shades for one of the sliding doors and smart drapes. But UNFORTUNATELY, we also had the same terrible experience from delayed arrival time, to wrong frames for the shutters, to a missing smart drape order and then waiting an additional time for it to arrive, to our smart drape being a bit short for our sliding door. PROs: -First impression on products and initial consultation in showing the products was a positive, we liked the products they had to offer. -Andrew (the owner) took his time during the first meeting in showing us the products, provided good customer service and also wore his mask. NEGATIVE: As I mentioned above, our shipment was delayed (we ordered first week of October and didnt get the shutters til last week of December (more than 7-9 weeks, as stated on the invoice)--which was communicated to us --"Due to Covid" (which we understood). However as soon as we received the shutters and installation was taking place, we noticed the frames of the shutters were wrong. We called Andrew immediately and he came to look at the shutter and made calls to the norman rep to fix the issue. But we had to wait another 3-4 weeks until we received those frames. Then in addition to that initial installation, our smart drape order was missing!!!! 2nd install date comes around, shutter frames arrived and was installed without issue, however the smart drape order was still missing--only to find out it was never ordered!!! Mind you we already paid in full since October. We decided to get our frames installed regardless, as we started to feel frustrated in the process and disconnect of this company. 3rd install date FINALLY for the smart drape comes around and it is now the 2nd week of February, but our smart drapes are SHORT (as if it was mis-measured). At this current time, Andrew is still trying to mediate this issue. This is one of the most frustrating transactions we have had, for a big lump some of money we paid for. Unfortunately, I CAN NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone. Though I gave 2 stars for the products and customer service in initial consultation appointment, our whole experience with this company has been such a headache! read more

Lets start by saying the blinds that we did get are great. Thanks to the brand of blinds they use. With that being said. DO NOT USE this company. We contacted Buxton Blinds to do a quote in our home. We were quoted a bit more than the average company but liked that they were a family owned business so we chose to follow through with our blinds purchase. I was quoted 3-4 weeks for installation. I was told by our salesperson that normally it is 2-3 weeks but because of COVID there was a slight delay. I agreed to the quoted install time. At 3 weeks I contacted our salesperson to see if there was any word on our blinds, as we hadn't heard anything. I was told they still didn't have tracking on where the blinds were but they were still due to arrive on time and install would still be taking place. So I gave them another week because of the 3-4 week time frame. On the Monday of week 4, our salesperson stopped by our home and said that the blinds have shipped and to expect a call from their office to schedule installation. Friday of that week (4 weeks had come and gone) I called to find out that the whole order NEVER shipped (they knew this when Andrew stopped by my house), only 2/3rds of it did. I gave him another week to get my blinds in and installed or I asked for our money to be refunded. Our salesperson led me to believe this would not be an issue. Week 5 hits and still no full order of blinds in. I asked for a refund. He deflected the issues to the manufacturer and the virus. He took NO blame in giving partial truths to his customers. He kept trying to blame the pandemic even though his quote was based on the fact that we were already dealing with COVID when they were ordered. This caused a great deal of frustration. He then decided that a refund would not be given. He claims I signed a contract stating this was the case. The proposal that I signed did not have any terms listed. It was not until after I paid that no refunds was stated on my receipt. So I disputed the charge with my credit card company, since I had received no services, well past the quoted time. A couple days later, I get a call from the manufacturer, not Buxton Blinds, stating that all the blinds were in and was hoping we could work something out. They offered us a discount, which they did give, if they could install the blinds. So we allowed them to recharge the blinds to our credit card and install them. The young men who installed were professional but waited to the end of the install to tell us of the new problems we were facing. We had a blind that was cut wrong as well as our major 12 ft window we were covering didn't have the blind we ordered. When my husband asked where the blinds were, as they finished the install, they handed my husband a envelope with a refund for the large window stating that they were told to give it to us. We then contacted our salesperson. He had all kinds of excuses, including that they canceled the large window blinds when we started having problems. Our salesperson knew we were missing blinds for our large window, told us that the whole order was in, then waited until the install was complete to let us know. Again he took NO blame for this. For the blind that was cut to the wrong size, we were told that we would have it remade and express shipped to our home and my husband would have to install it. A week later we still don't have the blind and have been told that it is scheduled to ship a week from now. Yet again another partial truth with no responsibility taken and all blame sent to other people. Do yourselves a favor and go with someone else. Save yourself the frustration of dealing with this company. read more

A few weeks before I closed on my house in Apr., I looked up highly rated companies who can do shutters. I wanted to support a local business and Buxton Blinds was the very 1st one who returned my call for a quote. Andrew came in prepared to offer me the best deal that he could give for my window choices. He was honest about the waiting period, 12+ weeks, for the Norman shutters (19 windows) and suggested sliding panels for my patio door. He sent the quote within a few days and I told him I'll decide once I move in. After I moved in, I asked about the motorized roller shades for my patio door instead. Luckily for me, the shade that I originally chose is available in those. Andrew's son did the final measurements and also installed the complimentary paper blinds. Although Andrew reassured me they offer the best prices in town, my only reservation was no available financing. My house is a new built and I had to prioritize the expenses. I told him that I still needed to entertain other offers just in case. He was disappointed but ultimately understood. I got 2 other quotes and they were no way near Buxton Blinds' cost. I cancelled one other appt. thinking that their cost would be similar to the other 2. So it's been a little over 4 mos. and I finally signed the contract for Buxton Blinds. After a few follow ups with Andrew months ago, I was still not financially ready. Yesterday, he informed me about the Labor Day weekend promotion to help ease the cost. Buxton Blinds is normally closed on Sundays but since Andrew wanted me to take advantage of the sale, he agreed to meet today. We made a few changes to the contract to add 3 more windows for the motorized shades (5 total). I felt a sigh of relief knowing that I'd be able to enjoy my new shades and shutters in a few months. So for future window covering needs, I will definitely go with Buxton Blinds again. Andrew is very easy to work with and does not push for additional products just for the sake of making a sale. I already recommended him to my nieces who also bought a property in the community next to mine. I will update this review once all installations are done. Can't wait! read more
