We're from out of town and were looking for a cozy, home‑style breakfast with great coffee, and Buzz at Copperleaf Cafe did not disappoint. We ordered the French toast with hash brown sticks for our 3‑year‑old, and he devoured every bite. We also had the biscuits and gravy--the gravy was absolutely fantastic. The biscuits were a little on the dry side, but the gravy more than made up for it. The potato pancakes were another highlight, seasoned so perfectly and cooked just right.The coffee was incredibly fresh and on point. We had two cortados and one mocha, and all three were excellent. On top of the great food and drinks, the staff was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We loved the local feel paired with high‑quality food. 2ND UPDATE I reached out to the owner Greg, and he did not return my e-mail. Things were not made right. I waited 3-days for a response before changed my rating back to 1-star. UPDATE 6/26/26 The owner reached out and wants to make things right. I changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars BECAUSE the owner reached out and will do training. This means a lot to me. PREVIOUS POST ON 4/25/26 I am upset! We arrived at 10:30am on a Sunday and they were 3/4 busy. After 45 minutes, we still did not have our breakfast and told them we were under time constraints. At 1-hour we left without eating. The waitress was not attentive and never refilled our coffee. The manager knew we were upset but never did anything to apologize or comp our coffee. First time and found it very appealing for lunch. Food was tasty and great menu options. The only recommendation is to encourage the younger wait staff to be more attentive/aware, at the end tail end of lunch service and only 50% full so think it is achievable. read more

Was up to get my car serviced and boy did we find a gem. Awesome coffee (I mean unreal) and the owner Kathy came over and talked with us as well. A family run business, and really nice and roomy for a cafe. We had the 2 eggs classic with toast and bacon and they have a really nice menu. Absolutely delish a must try! read more

While passing through Erie on the way home, I stopped at Buzz. The owner, Cathy introduced herself to me and made me feel very welcome as a solo traveler. This was especially important to me. The restaurant is spacious, bright and cheerful. The glass case was full of yummy looking pastries. the menu had a full assortment of different types of coffee drinks. I enjoyed the avocado toast and roasted red pepper Gouda soup both were yummy. I'm so glad I stopped there and would definitely stop there on my back-and-forth trips through Erie. Why would anyone ever go to a fast food franchise when there's a charming place like this nearby? read more

ONE TIME and DONE: Was at the Buzz on Saturday, November 15, 2025 with a school reunion group of 16 people. We had reservations. Arrived at 0920, with the remaining group members trickling in. At 1030 we had NO water or coffee. The mother of the owner, and a partial owner herself, came in around 1020. She spent 10 to 15 minutes chatting with a couple in a neighboring table. Sometime between 1030 and 1100 we got coffee and water. And, in that time frame what we ordered was served. We departed after 1130. The food was OK, but not a reason to return. Very tasty! I had Eggs Benedict and Potato Pancakes! (Can't remember last time I had potato pancakes!) I debated on breakfast sandwich as one went by and it looked good. Benedict was delicious (eggs poached perfectly) and pancakes tasty! Coffee quite good-- got the Buzz Blend. Service was excellent--- heard it can be busy on weekends so you may have a wait. The Italian wedding soup is honestly the best I've ever had. The young chef that made it definitely takes pride in making it. Stop by and the next time you do you'll thank him. I sent my visiting from Florida family and my Mother here this morning for breakfast and they were not happy. All 3 meals had to be sent back! Burnt omelette with the wrong items, french toast which was ice cold and the fish taco special not very good. Apparently no one knows anything there except how to stand around. They cannot answer a single question about the menu either. How long will this last? I know we will not go back. read more

I had a wonderful positive experience at this business. I recently had a function here for my mother and 10 guests for her 90th birthday. The manager/ chef Chris, as well as the owner went out of their way to accommodate all of us on short notice. The service was spot on, and the food was fantastic. Service was on point and the server was well-versed on the menu and what came with what. The restaurant was exceptionally well priced and they offer breakfast and lunch as well as a delicious selection of baked goods that will satisfy any craving and or sweet tooth.. The restaurant is pretty casual with an open plan, good lighting and a nice assortment of options. Chris, the chef went out of his way and personally checked in on our table to make sure everything was satisfactory and was very friendly outgoing. This is the former Cakery restaurant and is located " above the mall" and is definitely worth checking out. You won't be disappointed.! read more
