If you are looking for filling cheap food this is the place to go! With inflation and prices nowadays this is the best, most inexpensive food I have ever had. An omelette is like $5! My step mom and I went here for breakfast and our total with drinks was $16 that is CRAZY nowadays. The service was quick and good too. Anyways the place has a diner like feel. As far as how the food is, it is very good. I got a ham and cheese omelette which was very good. I do wish the ham chunks were smaller, but that is my preference. I also got a breakfast sandwich and it tasted good no complaints there. The cinnamon bread was delicious! It was covered in sweet icing and was hot and the perfect treat. Overall, I recommend this place for some fast, cheap, and good breakfast.

Excellent service. Fast and friendly. Huge portions and cool menu items combined with very reasonable pricing. It's a real local establishment, and I love those kinds of places. We will definitely be back. Like lots of local places, they are experiencing staffing issues that have forced the place to cut their hours of operation. But it did not effect our visit at all.

After driving by this place during non-breakfast hours, finally had the opportunity to stop in for breakfast. Smaller family style restaurant are waitress was Tammi B who did a stellar job in taking care of us and providing above and beyond service. Were in a little later morning, even though we had to have a food re-heated it still was wonderful and the perfect portion. Great value for the money, even made the owner Frank smile...and I heard that doesn't happen often. If I'm traveling through or in town will definitely stop back for breakfast.

I was surprised how fast our orders came out. The wait staff was super friendly. The food was perfect temperature and good. We appreciated the attention the waitresses paid to refills. Overall, great service.

Thank you yelp once again! Loved this yummy breakfast joint! Hashbrowns! Hard to get these in MA, I miss them so. Although their hashbrowns weren't crispy they were buttery tasting, which I loved! Their wheat toast was really delicious too. Fast hot yummy diner food with friendly waitresses that say "Hun" and "sweetie". Kiddy French toast sticks were nice and crispy so they didn't soggy. Parking Is tight on the weekends, the place gets packed!

I had heard stories from my family about this place but I thought many of them were embellished. Today I found out that they weren't. We got there about 10:15am, kinda late for breakfast so I thought there wouldn't be anyone there....we had to wait in line for a table! We didn't wait long though. First off, if you want quiet conversation, this isn't the place for you. This is a breakfast joint with a capital J. It's noisy but fun and relaxed. Our server was excellent. She was patient while the seven of us perused their ample menu and answered any questions we had. I ordered the country fried steak covered in sausage gravy, potatoes, and rye toast. Everything was excellent. Their corned beef hash is to die for. All our orders were excellent and portion sizes are HUGE. I can't speak for lunch or dinner but this is THE place for breakfast in Erie. Accept no imitations, this place is the real deal. Including tip (20%) the entire bill was $80 for the seven of us. Not ridiculous considering the portion size and quality of food. To-go boxes will be needed for most people. You can thank me for the recommendation later.

Took over 1 hour to get served a mediocre breakfast! Manager could not have cared less. Will never return. Consider yourself warned!

Out of all the fine dining experiences I've had in Erie so far, this would be at the top... food wise and view wise. It's beautiful to sit outside and have the view of the bicentennial tower right next to the water! Now for the dish details! -Buffalo cauliflower was nothing special, your standard Buffalo cauliflower with a side of ranch... great to share for the table. The Roasted Organic Chicken was so juicy and tender, it fell right off the bone. Mashed potatoes and green beans paired perfectly. One of my favorites! -The heirloom tomato salad was a 7/10... I think the tomato wedges needed to be smaller pieces. This salad had the best croutons I've ever had! French onion soup was also a standout for me... definitely recommend! -Lastly Walleye Fish & chips: I think they could've included a bit more fish (it was three tenders), tasted good tho...7/10 as well! I would definitely come back here again and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining waterfront experience in Erie!

I had to edit this review because my picture of my breakfast was not posted…read more Very disappointed with Shirley's. If anyone has followed my reviews, I try to eat at local restaurants and give fair and honest reviews. We drove from Pittsburgh to Buffalo and decided to stop at Shirley's for breakfast. The restaurant was busy we had to wait about five minutes for a table. The restaurant just serves breakfast and brunch and had a typical diner interior. We sat down and got our drinks right away. The coffee was hot. The waitress Michele came over and took our order. my wife's order was fine. She ordered the omelette and Texas toast came out perfect. My order was a different story. I ordered the number 4, 2 eggs over easy hashbrowns breakfast sausage, patty, and Italian toast with no butter. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the waitress brought me my plate with the toast very barely toasted and the hashbrowns should've been called hash whites because they were not cooked and they were cold. Take a look at the picture. No waitress should be bringing this to a patron. Look at this picture and make your own decision. Zoom in to the top of the plate, what is that? I did ask to have my toast darker but I did not want to send my whole plate back because my wife was already eating her breakfast. When I was paying my bill, I was asked how was everything and I explained that my breakfast was cold. The manager or owner came over asked a few questions and apologized. I said it's not your fault and I'm not looking to have anything comped. I just made the statement that I came in for a hot breakfast and I got a cold one. There are a lot of restaurants in Erie and unfortunately, I picked the wrong one for breakfast.
