This is a place we found on Yelp for Bfast when we were in town for a girls trip to visit wineries in the area. It was easy to find. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Menu is not too big. Good choices from eggs, omelette, pancakes and waffles. I chose the chorizo hash. I am told that was homemade where the corned beef hash is not. The chorizo had a nice heat. The potatoes and eggs were good too. Someone ordered banana pancakes, the chorizo Benedict, the frittata, and the sausage and gravy. All enjoyed their bfast. The sausage gravy was huge. Special nod to the home fries. They are good! Prices not too bad. About average if not a bit cheaper than most places. I'd go back. Everyone had a good Bfast and we enjoyed ourselves. read more

"Hidden in plain sight" in the front of a small shopping plaza of mostly local small businesses. Dining room is clean and inviting. Great place for breakfast. Food was very good and plentiful. My fiancé and I really loved Arnie's Place, so we figured we should try the original: Butch's Place, since it has the same owner. I was not disappointed! I ordered the strawberry cheesecake French toast (and a side of fries). The French toast was absolutely amazing. It was so decadent and the portion was way more than enough, I ended up bringing half of it home. My fiancé got the Butch's Breakfast and it was a very good size as well. I've gone here twice when I visited Erie for a little bit due to work and I must say I really enjoyed eating at this breakfast joint. I initially was looking for a brunch place that wasn't too crowded but also looked tasty! Butch's Place fit the bill no problem and reminded me of a character from an amazon show I love haha. The parking is super easy and plentiful. Inside, it wasn't to capacity which made it easier to social distance and eat one's food with less worry. Servers of course made sure to follow COVID precautions which I always appreciate and wouldn't probably visit a place that wasn't adhering to such policies. Food wise, really anything is amazing on the menu. The strawberry cheesecake french toast (~$11) is a must here. It legit tastes like a strawberry cheesecake with each bite and you're just surprised at the end they packed such a flavor into french toast. Now, I'm craving it from several states over! I also got the crab cakes benedict and a side of pancakes at a later visit and I must say I was definitely impressed. If I wasn't in such a mood for pancakes on my 2nd visit, the crab cakes benedict with the hashbrowns would have been the perfect meal and portion size. Both were very affordable and I highly recommend the crab cakes if you're craving something more savory. Finding good breakfast places is getting harder to find. So I heard through the grape vine. Gotta try Butchs place. So I loaded the wife in the and took her out for breakfast. She loves eggs Benedict. She got her classic Benny. And I got the chorizo Benny. They both were excellent. Our server. Nan. Was awesome. For me the little things is important like. Coffee cup. Full. The food is good here and it's bright and clean, but the service leaves something to be desired. I've been three times. My first time was good, but the second and third times I waited at least 45 minutes for food. On my third visit I saw a table get served before us that was seated after. Not too big of a deal, but still a little annoying when you're hungry. It also isn't super wheelchair friendly. Edit: I was being generous when I wrote my original review. We waited arrived at the restaurant around 12:30, and an hour later were one of the only tables without food. Our order wasn't complicated. Not the fanciest place, but very a good diner-style breakfast joint with friendly and efficient service.

The food is good. The service is so slow. I carefully watch and pick up on inefficiencies very well. I want to see you get better. 52 minutes for breakfast food is absurd. For any food. The busboy only came out when he told. The 2 waitresses were hustling but are bussing tables and cashing people out. I witnessed two tables get up and leave. It took 8-9 minutes for menus. When the table is done being cleaned look for the other 3 before walking all the way back to the kitchen. Manager should delegate more duties to the busboy. read more

Cute little diner, very busy and now I know why! We stopped in after finding this place on Yelp. What a treat. We all wanted a hearty breakfast after a rough night out. It took a few minutes to get a table and quite a while to get our food, but the coffee kept coming and the ladies working were friendly. The omelets were cooked perfectly, not over done. I'd definitely recommend Butch's breakfast potatoes over the hash browns. The hash browns were under cooked. The breakfast potatoes were fresh cut and cooked on the grill...perfection. The pancakes were the BEST I've had in a long time. The batter had a nice flavor and the texture was heaven. They had a hot griddle crispness to them and were soft and fluffy in the middle. We ordered the vege omelet which came with potatoes and toast, an order of 2 chocolate chip pancakes and a breakfast combo that came with two eggs, two plain pancakes, meat and potatoes, and a coffee and the bill came to $26 before tip. Excellent breakfast! We go almost every weekend. Love it there. There is one waitress who never seems to care about anything and by the time she gets around to bringing our food it is cold. First time visiting Butch's Place, we were looking for a place to take my parents for breakfast but didn't want to go ALL the way into Erie. The atmosphere is that of a nice little dinor, but the menu choices and the quality of food are definitely a step or two up. There are a few separate seating areas including a bar. I had the morning's special, strawberry cheesecake French toast. It was 4 slices of French toast with a cream cheese mixture in between slices topped with a strawberry syrup, fresh strawberries, whipped cream and powdered sugar. I know, sounds really sweet but the fresh strawberries and the not-too-sweet filling balanced it out. The meal didn't come with anything else so you have to order a la carte if you want any sides. My husband got the meatball omelette, which was made with 5 eggs, meatballs in marinara and provolone cheese. He said it wasn't bad but maybe something he wouldn't get again. I think was just too heavy for breakfast. Both of my parents got the Hearty Breakfast, they both commented on the good quality bacon and they seemed pretty pleased with their food.) The service was pretty good. Everyone we had contact with was friendly. All the waitresses were on top of their coffee-refilling game. All our orders came out accurate, timely, and didn't have any problems. While the place is kind of lacking in aesthetic, I would like to go back to try lunch or dinner. They are located in the middle of a shopping plaza, surrounded by other small local businesses so it would be a good place to go for a bit of shopping and make a lunch stop. read more

We were greeted and offered the seats of our choice. Everything is clean and organized and our server brought us menus and coffee quickly. Near perfect breakfast. For my son and I, the food came fast and was hot and plentiful. The sausage links were my favorite; 2" extra fat ones, not too big, not too small. The thick bacon was extra crispy but not at all overcooked, which is a rare feat at any diner. The service was great with frequent refill checks on our coffee. Though we came after getting skunked on the first day of doe hunting, I'd definitely bring my family of six here or even my wife on a date getaway. The rudest service I've ever encountered. Ever. Subpar diner food. Greasy toast, rubbery fake tasting eggs, grease wiped tables. Ordered oatmeal which came with bananas on menu and received a microwaved bowl of oatmeal already congealed so hard that it couldn't be served and received no banana slices.
