Such a great experience. Just moved to LA 3 months ago and was so nervous about finding a new hair stylist. This shop and the stylists Brazil came to me as a referral, I was not disappointed!! Being new to the city, I underestimated the traffic and was over an hour late for my appointment she and and her assistant Sharon waited for me patiently and kept the salon open for me! Sharon effortlessly took down my sew in washed it conditioned and rebraided it all in under 45 mins! Brazil was such a perfectionist with my sew in and she is also so focused on hair health which is so rare to find in hair stylists these days. Another perk, the salon has amazing Indian hair that you can purchase by the ounce and they even offer bundle prices to lower your sew in price. I'm extremely sad to leave a bad review and even more sad at the state of my scalp right now. I really wanted to like this place and was ecstatic when I found out it was in the Valley where in live. If I would've left this review the night of getting my hair done it would've been a five star. I needed my hair done last minute and was able to schedule an appointment last minute with Nisa. She was more than accommodating and started on my hair right away. My experience while getting my hair done was pleasant. Nisa was sweet, lovely and professional and was wowed by how flat and natural looking my weave was. This was due to the very small braiding technique used. I wasn't crazy about the "style" of the finished result, which wasn't a huge deal because I can always restyle at home. The only annoying thing was the abundance of hairspray used which I ended up having to wash out a couple of days later. I didn't ask about pricing before booking my appointment which was my mistake. When Nisa told me I owed $355 I was a little shocked considering the location of the salon, and the fact that I took down and washed my own hair at home. I have gotten my hair done at Dolling Hair in Beverly Hills before and paid the same, but that included a take down and wash. With tip we're at about $400. Nevertheless, I needed my hair done and I really appreciated her squeezing me in last min. Two weeks after having my hair done, I notice loose strings at the side of my hair. Two and a half weeks I notice one long string while brushing. I feel around and notice that the back track is coming out. I call her by the end of the week and very nicely explain to her my tracks are coming out, and it's only been about three weeks since having my hair done. I hear silence on the other end, followed by a long sigh. "Can you come in Monday at 10:30?" I answer "Sure, no problem." I show up at 10:30 on Monday. I'm greeted with a... Well actually I'm not greeted at all. Nisa is clearly annoyed that I called her to fix my hair. I sit down and Nisa snaps at me "Can you take your hair down?!!!!" I am having a WTF? moment. If anyone should be annoyed it should be me, right? $400 in and having to take the time to come back to fix what should've been done properly the first time, is more than enough to make anyone irate. Nevertheless I remain calm and in control of my day, trying to keep things light and a smile on my face. (Thank-you Xanax) I guessed she'd booked someone at the same time she told me to come, because she was rushing doing the sloppiest job fixing my tracks; not knotting the ends of the strings tangling my hair up. Whatevs. She finishes, (takes about 10 min) I offer her a $20 with the slightest glimmer of hope she would turn it down... (I know dumb.) Without hesitation she accepts, and her demeanor immediately changes. She isn't annoyed with me anymore and tells me to 'Have a great day!' A couple of days after this fiasco I notice a spot that was previously a little sore feeling a little smooth to the touch, and upon further examination, I notice a significant amount of balding between tracks. I haven't taken down the rest of my install yet but am terrified to see the results. I can feel more smooth parts of my scalp that weren't previously there prior to this install. Small braids are great for a flat seamless look, but if you are care at all about the overall, long-term health of your hair and scalp, or are looking for a weave that will last, I wouldn't suggest going here. A good weave uses braids perfectly sized that can support the weight of the tracks. read more

Brazil is the greatest hair extension stylist. She was fast with no bumps and made my hair look so natural. Her cornrows were tight and she blended my hairline so well with no tracks showing. She's also a very sweet lady.I will be going every two months moving forward to get my weave redone. Next time I will buy hair as well. This time I used hair that i previously purchased. My mom and I made an appointment last minute today and Brazil managed to get us in after she finished up with her current client. She was personable, professional, warm, considerate and did an outstanding job on my trim and my mom was ecstatic with her new hair color. If you need a hairstylist in Cali I advise you to go to BVH Glam studios!!! I was looking all around LA county to find someone with enough background and skills to do my extensions. I read a review on yelp and thought yes this is definitely the spot for me. I scheduled an appt and they were able to squeeze me in the next day. Brazil is the stylist they had do my extensions, and she was perfect! She's sweet, great conversation and very skilled. She didn't take all day doing my extensions and made sure that when I walked out everything was to my likings. Although I had 24" extensions people were still asking me tips on how to make there hair longer, as if it was my real hair. The hair literally looked like it was coming out of my scalp, no lumps, it looked so natural, the hair that was left out blended perfectly, you couldn't see where my hair ended and my extensions started! I said all this to say that Brazil did a fantastic job on my hair, this is my second time getting my extensions done by her and I also got a perm in between and it was probably one of the best perms I ever gotten. I have never walked out of a salon completely happy ... UNTIL TODAY!! I just moved to downtown LA from the DC Metro Area. I've been looking for a hairstylist for about a month with no luck. However, I yelped and read reviews and decided to try my luck with BVH. I olled the dice and was referred to Rih Rih. She hooked me up!! I'm very very VERY picky about my hair. I don't like it to be puffy. I don't like a lot of product. And because I have short hair, I don't want to look bald headed or "ghetto". I walked of the salon today in record time (less than 2 hours)! That's never happened in the history of black hair care. She was very sweet and talkative...like we were old friends. AND IT WAS VERY AFFORDABLE!!! Although this salon specializes in extensions, they don't discriminate against us short hair girls!! I've already got several compliments on my hair and it's only been a few hours. I'll definitely be back and refer any others girls I meet. Greetings People! Though my hair service was months ago I had to leave BVH a review. I initially reached out to BVH because my resident stylist was out of town and I needed my hair done fast. And to say my hair care is very important to me would be an understatement. My customer service experience was stellar!, from the very first phone call, all the way throughout service. I received a full head of long extensions. The stylist MelB did my sew-in. Her personality was awesome. She's a very high spirited girl. All in All it was a really great experience. I got my eyelash extentions done by nissa, and by far these have been the best eyelash extentions I've had! They lasted for almost 2 month. In my past experiences my lashes only lasted for a week or two before completely falling out!! I was so happy with my experience that I went back and got an entire weave done by her too! Mary braided my hair incredibly, and nissa is the absolute master of making weaves look natural!! Best experience by far compared to any other salon I've been to.
