Uh oh! A monster was created when I got this lovely new sew in and it's all thanks to stylist Kergie at the Extended Beauty bar. I've added a new beauty routine to my arsenal and I don't think I'm ever looking back. The TikTok gods have a chokehold on me and convinced me to try the viral flipover sewin. I bought some nice bundles and needed a serious professional to install them for me. It had been nearly 2 decades since I've stepped foot into a salon and was happy when social media did me another solid and led me to EBB. I made it on time to my 1:30pm appointment and was greeted by the lovely Kergie who calmed my first time jitters with a mimosa (and she kept on bringing them through the entire appointment - I lost count after 4). She got me shampooed and trimmed me up (a major necessity after years of not seeing a stylist) and went over my hair health needs as well as my vision for the style I was going for. After a few hours of braiding, installing, and styling, I was a brand new woman. I absolutely loved the results and there is no better feeling than looking great once you step out of a stylists chair. Totally incredible experience over at Extended Beauty bar. Kergie absolutely killed it with my hair style and the customer service. I'm already looking forward to my maintenance appointment in a few weeks. read more

I really wanted to like this salon because I've seen great work from them, but unfortunately my personal experience wasn't good. I drove an hour to get here for a curly sew-in, but the placement of the wefts was done poorly. The lengths don't flow well, and too much of my natural hair was left out at the top, which makes it hard to blend, not because of curl pattern, but simply because of placement. I paid $400 (bringing my own hair), and I left with a style I can't really wear out confidently. My bigger concern, though, was how my natural hair was handled. I have 4b/4c hair that requires being washed with lots of water, product, and detangled while wet. Instead, my hair was detangled dry, tugged through with a blow dryer and brushed from the root with little to no product. It was painful and damaging. The stylist also suggested I do a keratin treatment, calling it a "protein treatment," but a keratin treatment is actually a chemical process that loosens curls. I shared with her that I have past trauma surrounding my hair, so the way it was handled and the comment that my hair wasn't "manageable" felt hurtful. It left me feeling like there wasn't an understanding of how to properly care for my texture. On top of that, I felt like speed was prioritized over quality. The result was uncomfortable both during the appointment and after, and I may have to take this sew-in out much sooner than expected. I don't think this reflects the entire salon, since I saw other stylists doing beautiful work. But based on my own experience, I personally wouldn't return unless I was matched with someone who really understands and respects natural 4b/4c hair care. read more

Where do I even begin... i started my going to extended beauty bar back in July of 2023. Jazmeen and her team are amazing. Jazmeen has done copper bond installs, leave out weaves you name it. Since her giving me her opinion to do leave out weaves my natural hair has grown so much. Everytime we do a take down, I amazed with the growth. First time here and I'm so glad I came! I have very thick, coarse 3C/B curly hair and I usually don't blow it out, but I was heading to a wedding and didn't have time to do it myself. They took such great care of my hair thoroughly washed, blow-dried, and styled it. The results were perfect! And it was much faster than any other salon I've been to. The stylist/owner even clipped my hair so it would last until the next day for the wedding. I removed the clips the next morning. My hair looked amazing and held up beautifully. I've been coming to Extended Beauty Bar for about 5 years, and I can't say enough! Admittedly, it's taken me way too long to write a review. I'm a SALON GIRLIE who loves being in the salon energy. Extended Beauty Bar has such a calming and relaxing atmosphere where you're offered a glass of mimosa (various flavors), tea, and/or water. The waiting area has a comfy soft sofa with a view of a large television and sing along tunes. I dare you to sit there the entire time and not tap your foot, snap, or sing along. I usually come in earlier than my appointment for a couple of minutes of stillness from the hustle of the day and to take in the vibes. EVERYONE in the salon has positive vibrations and fun conversations which is led by the salon owner Jazmeen. The beauty, professionalism, relaxed atmosphere, and positive vibrations are all a reflection of Jazmeen, the MASTER stylist. When my schedule didn't align with Jazmeen's, I've had the distinct pleasure of having my hair done by Kya and Michelle who are also blessed BEASTS with them swift braiding fingers and hot combs! I've also had the pleasure of being serviced by Britney, Daniela, Kimberlyn, and my favorite face, the sweet and beautiful Kim! My mom, best friend, and I have had our makeup done here for a birthday dinner and we all were so gorgeous, we talked about how we were upset at having to wash our faces the next day. I won't mention which one, but someone didn't fully wash her face the next day. Though I'm a true salon girlie who doesn't mind the time it takes to get beautified, I'm finished so much faster than what I'm used to from previous salons. Now on to the appointment. I booked a relaxer retouch and trim with Ms Kya. As soon as I walked in there, my mother and I were greeted so warmly by Kim. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out! She offered us some beverages and a nice place to wait (I was 15 early). They brought us the most amazing mimosas!! I had a watermelon one and my mom got peach. Amazing! Kya arrived right on time and READY honey! She asked if we needed anything and then took me straight to her chair. I have a YouTube channel called Naturally Relaxed and they graciously allowed my mom to stay and hang out too so that she could record the process and have a few more delicious mimosas! I can't tell you how down to earth, pleasant, ands GENTLE Kya was with my hair. I am EXTREMELY cautious with people in my head because I take such good care of my hair. She is extremely professional and always maintains open dialogue when it comes to realistic hair/color expectations. I thought long and hard before leaving this review, but I feel very inclined to. I have been to the salon three times now and each time I have had an overall poor experience. In fact, the only reason why it has taken me this long to leave a review, especially given that it is a negative one is because the owner herself is such a sweet woman. I would never want to have a negative impact on her business, but I have to share my experience. With that being said the number one issue I have had here is timing no matter the time of my appointment or the date of my appointment every single time I've come in here the stylist has started at least 45 minutes to an hour past my scheduled appointment time and that is extremely frustrating. The first time she did this I was actually pregnant and that made my experience so much more uncomfortable than I already was. The second time she did this was the day of my son's first birthday party and I told her that I was on a time crunch. The last time she did this was my last appointment and we didn't start until an hour after I arrived because she was doing two other peoples hair. What I will say is that the first time I had a good experience regarding the style itself I think she did really great job installing my tape ins. The second time I believe once she finally started my head she was in such a rush the tapes were improperly placed to where you could easily see them when the wind blew. This last time she did a half up half down sew in and I don't know her method, but it was the worst. A half of half down sew in has ever looked. She rushed while molding my hair, so it was not secure. There was a gap in between my Ponytail and my back section. I don't know how that even happened, but it was such a huge gap. You could see all of the tracks. in fact, I had to go get it fixed by another hairstylist today and spend more money. I tried explaining this to her and Voice and my complaints directly to her and I was basically gaslit so I told her OK no worries and I went to go get it fixed elsewhere, but it's because of that, that I felt inclined to leave this review because I have given this shop three chances and each time I've had an issue. read more
