The owners rather than offering help or to replace it where VERY nasty and said that its my fault the plant is not doing well and would not replace it. I purposely shop at small garden centers like this one to support the small and local businesses. I left very upset. I didn't argue or get overheated. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shouldn't it be a their goal to treat the customer well and make sure their happy! I explained to them I just had a similar experience at another local shop, Uncle Ed's Creamery, who made a simple mistake with a purchase. Not only did they replace it, they gave me a gift certificate!!! Thanks Uncle Ed's. I will NO longer shop The Living Earth. Here's why you'll regret it‼ Whereas there crews do an incredible job and are very pleasant... The owner of Garden Girl (Jackie) is one of THE most unpleasant and unappreciative folks to "work" with that I've EVER encountered! I gave them more than $5,000 worth of business this past year and the appreciation I got today was a "Dear John" email where she has cancelled doing any further work for me! The true reason for this is that Jackie has taken on too many customers, doesn't have enough crews to handle the work load and, with this springs wet weather, she can't keep up with satisfying her customers, agreed upon, monthly maintenance schedules. And, she refuses to do what it takes to do so, ie, working weekends to catch up (as MANY other landscaping companies are doing), because "she has a life other than @ Garden Girl"! Yesterday, after pushing my mid-May monthly maintenance back several times, she then told me that it was now going to be a mid-June job "take it or leave it"... SO, when I told her that wasn't what we had agreed to for a "committed to" monthly maintenance schedule, she fired off the "Dear John" email to me this morning! So, if you can wait for months, through multiple broken appointments and don't mind dealing with an incredibly unappreciative and disorganized business owner, then perhaps you'll eventually have one of her fantastic crews show up! But, based on where it looks like her business is headed.... I'm not so sure of even that‼ I'll expect Jackie will reply here shortly and she'll push the blame back on me but you, as a potential customer, can decide who's telling the true story...Remembering that all I did to set her off was to question her inability to schedule... Not a great business decision, at her end, for a $5,000+/year client‼

Everyone has different perspectives and I would never want to hurt a business based on my feelings or praise a businesses for operating appropriately because that's what they are expected to do, that's the service we pay for. They are a nice family but nice doesn't get the job done and I can't do anything with apologies every week especially while they have my riding tracker in exchange for their services. I did that for them so they could help the community. There is a constant lack of; communication, consideration, scheduling, and the quality of service is highly neglected. As a last attempt, I was promised they would be here this morning (Monday 7/14) to make it right. It's 12 PM while composing this msg. The last grass cutting was on 6/20, the last communication was on 7/11. I tried giving one last chance before writing this review but I am done waiting and will no longer recommend them due to everything transpiring.
