My daughter started at Byers in 2022 at age 7 in girls basic 2 and is now in the competitive Optionals program training level 8. She has loved all of her time at Byers and it's essentially her second home because of all the time she spends there. She has strong bonds with her teammates from all the groups and some of my closest friends are their parents. :) She loves all her coaches- she has several!!! And enjoys & receives all of their instruction, encouragement, knowledge, and fun personalities. She feels safe and comfortable letting them know if she is having growing pains and needs to take it easy sometimes at practice which I've heard a lot of gymnasts fear talking to their coaches. When I've emailed the coaches with questions or to see how my daughter is doing, I always receive a response with clear positive explanation. My son even did the parent and me classes when he was 2.5 and he LOVES going to the monthly Parents Night Out. We truly loved our time at Byers Gymnastics in Rocklin! My daughter came in knowing pretty much nothing about gymnastics, and within about 3 months she had already moved up to Kinder 2. Seeing how much she learned and how confident she became in such a short amount of time was amazing. She especially loved her teacher, Mrs. Elisha! She was kind, helpful and encouraging, but also knew when to be stern to keep the kids focused, which I really appreciated. She did a great job recognizing where my daughter was strong and where she needed a little more work and helped push her without making it feel like too much. Another thing I really liked is that they have something for pretty much every level. Whether it be rec, professional or for fun, there's room for everyone! I went to Byers Roseville as a kid, and now both of my kids have done gymnastics at Byers in Rocklin and Roseville too. Both of my girls started doing gymnastics as soon as they can could walk. It is such a great way for littles to learn how to move their bodies and how to listen to instructors. My youngest has special needs and the coaches are always encouraging with her and make sure to push her too. We use her gymnastics class a an extension of her physical therapy. She has come such a long way and I think so much of her improvements from her delays have come from her lessons at Byers. The Rocklin facility is really clean and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Jackie is a great manager and truly cares about all of the kids at her gym. We absolutely love Byers Gymnastics in Rocklin! My daughter has had such an incredible experience here, and a huge part of that is because of Coach Ainsley. She is truly amazing with the kids so patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping them grow both in skill and confidence. My daughter looks forward to every single toddler time class, and it's been so special watching her progress while also having so much fun. Coach Ainsley creates such a positive and welcoming environment that makes both kids and parents feel comfortable right away. I will gladly drive out of my way (which is a 30 minute drive) just to have my daughter in her class that's how great she is. I won't mention names, but the young coach my daughter had for six months was inattentive and didn't provide much guidance. I only observed about four classes, but each time I noticed the same issue--especially with how my daughter was coached. There was one particular exercise she struggled with that kept her from moving up a level. I'm not a gymnast, but I worked with her on it for just one hour, and she made more progress with me in that short time than she had in six months with her coach. I had really high hopes for this program since it's so close to home, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. read more

We've been in Buyers gymnastic almost two years and my daughter was so happy there, as well as me about her. And even last lesson she learned a new exercise, like a wheel without hands and she was so happy about it. Even her coach Miss Johana was so happy about Katherine that she learned a new exercise in this last lesson. But coach Lindsey was yelled at me and my daughter Katherine after class in front of everybody. She blame me that i brought Katherine to class even after she told me not to and bothering her class. Yes, she told that we were late and must not join class today. I was agree with her about it, but I've asked as a last chance question : "Could we ask about it our coach?" She told me: "Yes." So I told my daughter to go to her gymnastic coach and ask if she could join a class. And if not, she might leave. That's what I've said. So my daughter went and stay till the end in class. She told me that the only she and another girl was in the class that day so basically only TWO people including my daughter. Who she was bothering that day I don't really understand. So after Lindsey Yelled at me and my daughter after class in front of everybody and blame me that I pay late(yes I do and I pay my fee 20$ so how I bothering them about it), next. Another coach(I don't know her name) start to protect Lindsey. She told Lindsey do not pay attention on my words when I try to prove for Lindsey that I've asked her before to join to class if Katherine could ask her coach and she said: "Yes". Also that coach told me that skirts is not clothe for gymnastic. I got gymnastic rules and read it. It has section "Dress code" said : " - One piece leotards are preferred for girls. No two pieces are allowed. -Athletic bottoms, tank top, or t-shirt may also be worn. No shoes or socks on the gym floor. -No exposed undergarments. -No belts or jewelry ( stud earrings are ok). -Hair must be pulled back. So I never seen it said: " Skirts are not allowed." My daughter wear that last lesson an athletic skirt with short together as a one piece. That coach who protected Lindsey and told us about skirt was a coach in my younger daughter group. My young daughter attend a class only 2-3 time and that's it. Because she only 3 and she needs more explanation in class what to do and how to do, but coach wasn't really personally describe her very well. So my daughter wasn't understand how exactly she has to do her exercise. That's the reason she was left class. And I told Lindsey in front of the desk that my daughter going to leave a class ,so we not enrolling anymore. She told me ok. So I left. And my daughter didn't come to class anymore, but I paid a year insurance and for one month extra(that she didn't come)+ late fee. I was very upset and I try to dispute my money, but Lindsey told me that policy rules is that I need to worn them 30 days before and I need to write about it in mail, not just say it. And she told me she warned me about it. May be yes, but i didn't pay attention. Anyway, I have many thing to remember, so I cant remember everything, and my daughter gone to that gymnastic almost two years and love it. So I thought I will speak to front desk and they forgive us and bring overcharge back, specially I told them about it, but not write, Ok. No, they didn't forgive us. So I pay over for nothing basically. Now they kick us out by sending me a letter that my older daughter not allowed to class anymore and not welcome me and my daughter anymore in all three locations in Buyers gymnastics such as : Rocklin, Roseville, and Citrus Height. Yes, Lindsey blame me that I often late. That's true, but my daughter wasn't bothering nobody, she joined class quietly. Anyway, after my daughter last day gymnastic when Lindsey yelled at me and my daughter in front of everybody my daughter and me felt embarrassed and we thought not to go to BUYERS gymnastic anymore, but my daughter was happy about her coach Miss Joana and she loved to go to class with her. So we decided to stay. But they anyway kicked us out. Yes I've being late often because of my very busy life and I apologize for it but coach never kick my older daughter out, so I was thinking it's ok. Anyway, yelling at me and my daughter is not right or kicking us out immediately, u at least might give a warning and in polite way, but not yelling at parents and kids and even in front of everybody. I cant say enough great things about Byers. I bring my daughter for Toddler play time and a Toddler class and it's never been anything short of amazing. The staff is attentive and helpful. My daughter has a great time and gets her wiggles out. The coaches are absolutely dedicated to their craft and it shows. I also bring my older child to the events on Saturday and she is always asking when the next event is. We are thankful for a place both my kids can enjoy. read more

I enrolled my 5 and 3 year old into separate classes on Saturday morning. My 5 year old was in a level 2 class...which she had to test into. I had high hopes she would be engaged and learning, but the teachers were so inattentive and spent the 55 mins socializing. It was a free-for-all for the students, they would set up a circuit and then not pay attention or offer any sort of guidance. 2 consecutive weeks kids were in the wrong classes...how are they not even paying attention enough to know what students should be in their class? My girls would come out for multiple water breaks, so I know they were not engaged. They have been in gymnastics since they could walk and I've never had this issue at previous gyms. So disappointed. I was excited to try the gym based on other good reviews, instead I paid a year insurance fee for 1 month of classes. read more

We took our kid in for a trial run to see if we should sign her up for a class and the lady threw the application at her instead of handing it over. I very much wanted to like this place. The pros: Front desk clerk Jacquie is wonderful, inviting, and was so good to my toddler who loved running up to her desk to stare at her while she worked. She is wonderful. The cons: The coaches, although friendly and energetic, are very young and fairly inattentive. Ours gave instructions to a 6-8 step circuit once and then expected the young students to perform. She offered very little help to new students, either with remembering which step came next or being able to complete a specific step. As a result, my 4 year old kind of wandered aimlessly for a good portion and watched others, and even ran off at one point to join an older class without the coach noticing. There are signs posted for parents not to coach their kids from the outside, which is hard to do when they look so lost and no one will help them. And then, cleanliness. It is the gym's policy for students not to wear any foot covering on the mat (ballet shoes, grippy socks, etc), which I could understand if the same policy existed for the coaches. Unfortunately, they are permitted to -- and do! -- wear outside shoes onto the mat, all over the equipment the children use. They also do not clean equipment between classes (not that it would help with the shoe issue). When I brought up my concerns with this lack of hygiene, they suggested that my family "might not be the right fit." On the bright side, they refunded my payment for the month (hence the extra star). read more

We love Byers soooo much! My kids call it their second home. The environment is inviting. Our 4 kids have all attended. From tot and parent participation classes all the way to Team! Gymnastics has taught them coordination, how to tell their right from left, agility, colors, how to navigate fears and overcome them, and so much more. We really feel like this sport is a foundation for any sport in the future and we're so grateful to have Byers coaches teaching our children. read more

This is our second gym and we found our home. The entire staff is absolutely amazing here and we feel like part of the family. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Coach Jackie is the absolute BEST-super caring and experienced but expects the kids to listen, which is exactly what we wanted in a gym.
