Basic bar in a small town. Bar food is pretty solid and decent. Service however, not great. Bynee's is known for it's rough service, due to one waitress. The only waitress (at the time of writing this) is rude and direct older lady. She makes you feel like you're a bother to her, if you ask a single question. She won't break your bill up, even if you ask, because she's "way too busy for that". She'll snap at you and tell you no if you ask for things she doesn't want to do. One time after eating, we went across the street to another business, and the owner said that particular Bynee's waitress has been a problem for years. Every time I've gone back to this place, she's somehow still working, and somehow just as unpleasant as the last time. If you snap back, she gets nice....however I shouldn't have to snap at you to get decent service, when you're serving.... If you're in a rush for some good, and quick bar food, and don't mind unpleasant service, Bynee's is pretty solid. read more

I've been going to Bynee's for years and have always been happy with the food and service. I visited Ennis this summer and decided to take my family for lunch. We walked in and the place was empty besides one table. The waitress said she couldn't fit our party, 4 adults and 5 kids under 6 years old. We offered to sit at two separate tables if that would be easier. She acted completely put out by us and our business. It was obvious she was the only waitress and we tried to convey that we would be easy customers and not a burden but her attitude determined the situation. I couldn't believe it. Needless to say when we visit Ennis again Bynee's will not be on our list. read more

Stopped by here for lunch today as I was reading at the Library next door. Was greeted by a very friendly waitstaff (I was the only person in the place since it was snowing pretty hard outside). Setting Place was very clean and nicely ordered. I found my table to be comfortable and overall I felt very relaxed there. They have lots of TVs in here which made it a bit hard for me to concentrate on the writing I was doing, but luckily the volume on them was very low, so it wasn't too much of a distraction. Food 6-piece chicken wings These cost $4.50 which I thought was an okay price for wings (anything above $1/wing I consider to be too expensive). I order the 'hot' sauce for these and they definitely did deliver. I like my wings to be spicy, to where if you smell them too closely you'll singe your nose hairs. These wings were exactly what I was looking for. Decent meat, nicely fried, and a great sauce on them. Even as I write this I can still taste the sauce and my mouth waters a bit. Cheeseburger Deluxe w/ waffle-cut fries and coleslaw I was very happy with this burger. It was by no means a gourmet burger, the patty was standard meat, but it did have good flavor and was cooked nicely. I really enjoyed the waffle-cut fries and was putting the cole-slaw on them to have a bit of a sweet-salty combo going. They served up a generous portion of fries and the burger was more than enough to get me full. Overall I was very happy with my visit here and will be returning to explore other items on their menu. Beware ******. After writing this I went back to my hotel and 2 hours later had terrible food poisoning symptoms!!! I was concerned about my burger .. It had a guacamole paste that looked bad and tasted weird .. I tried removing it from the burger but did eat some... pretty sure they are not keeping their food at the right temperatures or it was expired !! Service was great kept our drinks refilled. We enjoyed the chili fries... unfortunately the chicken wings were sold out .. reason we came in.. My niece and I both had burgers.. my side was beans and she had waffle fries. Racism alive and well in at Bynee's in Ennis? Walked in with a party of 8. Place was half empty. The few customers whipped their heads up at us and the kitchen guy stuck his head out. Waitress stopped us at the door and told us they could not seat a party our size. (there was a large booth to the left that could have handled us, 4 adults 4 kids). I asked if we could order something to go? Waitress said they don't do that. I asked if she could recommend another place that we could walk to and was given vague disinterested instructions. We felt very unwelcome. If someone wants your business, they make it work. She was having none of it. I am white and my family of four is white. We were traveling with another family of four, our good friends that are black. We all felt very uncomfortable and I have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant. We had driven through Ennis on our way to Yellowstone and looked forward to stopping on our way out because it looked so cute. This restaurant ruined the whole town for us. read more

Everything was fresh and a good price. Pint of beer $3.50, burgers were $8.25 or $8.95, which is a good deal and came with fresh cole slaw and waffle or regular fries. We had 6 pieces of wings too, and they were fresh and tasty, served promptly and the waitress was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean, and they had free wifi. The decor was eclectic and for a sports bar, they had the Nashville Rodeo on. We enjoyed ourselves and came out of the restaurant after getting 2 burgers, fries, slaw, an appetizer, a beer and an ice tea for $30.99 (plus tip). Very good price for the area. read more

If I could give zero stars, that would be FANTASTIC! This place is pure trash. We stopped in on our road trip and thought that a cute little comfort food restaurant in a small, charming town would be great! God no. At first all was well... walked in and she said we could sit anywhere. We chose a larger booth because it was extremely slow and we were the only ones in there. A large family came in and our waitress didn't even ask us to move. She went and grabbed some other waitress who rudely asked us to. We obliged regardless of her attitude and unprofessionalism. The nice family thanked us. When it came time to take orders, the rude waitress came out and completely bypassed us and started taking another family's order that had come in about 10 minutes after us. We said oh, we were here first. She didn't believe us somehow and asks 'Who was here first'? The family vouched for us and said we were. Seriously?! Then she had an attitude taking our orders because we didn't realize we had multiple sides. You know how grammar works and all.... definitely was offering only one side but apparently not. She didn't like that we didn't know and started snapping at us. Between all of that crap and a nonstop screaming child and super loud music, we all got frustrated and asked if we could get our food to go. She goes well you're going to get it after everyone else in here. We were like um absolutely not. We were here first, ordered first, that's absolutely unsatisfactory and BS. Party of 4 for a birthday dinner. Told multiple times that tables were being cleaned for us to be seated. No one was cleaning......finally seated. RUDE waitress took some time to wait on us with 4 tables in the entire restaurant occupied. Drink & food order taken together. Our appetizers came with no plates, napkins or silverware. We finally got napkins. Drink refills had to be requested. While waiting on our order we witnessed the waitress to EXTREMELY rude to other patrons wanting to either wait for them to clean a table or order to go. She yelled across the restaurant at them & continually yelled at the credit card machine while attempting to use it (apparently she doesn't know how to make it work). A large party came in & sat & waited for quite some time before she took their orders saying 'make sure you know who is on what ticket because it affects how I put in the orders (?). They got food for some before they even got CANNED BEER. They ask for water & she said they didn't have enough clean glasses!!! Basically just poor, rude service to say the least. She made NO attempt to accommodate paying customers wanting to have dinner ~ there or to go. Simply not someone who should work in customer service. Went there twice over the Memorial Day weekend 2018. The first time (Saturday evening) we wanted to look at a menu because we were dissatisfied with the food at the Sportsman's Lodge (also in Ennis) and wanted to find another place to eat. While looking over the menu we spied some Huckleberry ice cream and asked for one. The waitress kind of treated us like it was an inconvenience to be there. While she did deliver the ice cream quickly, she kind of threw it into the table as she walked by. We waited and waited before finally getting her attention and asked for a spoon! There was no silverware on the table. Once delivered, we got the heck out of there so we wouldn't have to deal with her any longer. On the second visit (Sunday) afternoon we had a different waitress. We wanted to have some of the local craft beer, but didn't know how it would taste. Why buy a whole glass if you didn't like the taste? I've had some of the loca IPA's and didn't like them. When we asked for a small sample, (I even suggested just a shot glass worth), we were told no. This is the first place I've ever been to that refused to provide a penny's worth of beer in order to sell a whole glass. We drank water instead, their loss of $$$. While the food was pretty good (I did have to ask for a lemon wedge for my fish and chips), we'll never go back. Upon entering Ennis, this looks like a great place to have a burger. The restaurant boasts "best burgers." That is a lie. More on that later. We walk in, my husband, myself and baby. We are promptly seated and then a waitress informs us that the wait will be 45 minutes to an hour, when a second waitress says the wait is worth it, we are just super busy. Ouristake we should have left, but we decided to stay. So we ordered, I had the southwest burger and my husband had the bacon cheeseburger. The wait was over an hour, and I could see the kitchen from where I was. Seriously, they must of been cooking on a little hot plate. When the food came, the burger was not hot, the southwest burger had Cajun seasoning and some nasty green stuff they called gaucamole. There was nothing "homemade" about this. It was straight out of a box off of a Sysco truck. So I have no idea why it took so long to cook. I was not expecting haute cuisine; rather a good old fashioned burger with fries. This place failed to deliver. They stated that they were busy but there were 18 people there. People were hanging around in the kitchen, they didn't look busy at all. Poor service. Waitress was unwilling to seat us (a party of eight, six adults and two children) for dinner. It was NOT close to closing. She said she didn't have any tables that would seat eight (there was one open). She said she could not put tables together. When we split up our group into four and four, she came up to us and told us, "Just so you know, your food will be about 45 minutes." (She had not taken our order, and we had not even sat down in the chairs yet.) One of us commented, "Wow, I guess they don't want to serve us." She heard and said, "Yep." We traveled 1200 miles to visit this town. We do this once a year. It was our first time to try this place. We will never revisit.
