Every year we travel to OC (from NY) and every year this is a must stop for my family. This year (2024) BYOC relocated to a new location directly adjacent to Frontier Town. The new place is much nicer, roomier & the desserts just as good as ever. Only complaint would be they need more people working (1 taking orders & 3 prepping) so the long line moves quite slow. But afterall this is vacation so we aren't in a rush. Probably would be good to have 2 doors too- one for entry & one for exit- inplace of the current single door that gets jammed up with the long line. Otherwise, we love BYOC & will certainly be back next summer. read more

We try to camp at Assateague a few times a year... we've been doing it for almost a decade and always went to Frontier Town for our ice cream treats post-meal (shout out to the Shrimp Boat down the road). This is going to officially be our new spot for desserts. Amazing warm gooey cookies, flavorful creamy ice cream, generous toppings. Yummy place to go if you're craving sweets in Chincoteague. There are a good selection of cookie flavors to choose from, and tons of topping options available for your cookie sundae/sandwich/masterpiece creation. Cookies themselves are tasty, but nothing out of this world. It's truly the ice cream and toppings (from fruity pebbles to cookie dough bites and everything in between) that make the desserts here. If you're lactose-intolerant your options are pretty limited (one fruit sorbet flavor available) but you can always opt for a vegan/dairy-free cookie sans-ice cream to get your sugar fix. read more

It is off a beaten path across from the tangier outlets in OC headed towards Assateague. You order your dessert as take out and they have benches for you to sit and enjoy. The menu board is displayed on a chalk board and I love how it is broken down by steps for the newbies and the prices were very friendly. I ordered a kids birthday cake with lucky charms on top for my daughter and a snickerdoodle cookie with blueberry cheesecake ice cream with marshmallow whip on top for myself. This place was a blast to go to with my family. They were busy but we got to relax in their seating area where they had a "mini beach" for kids to play in. Exceptional customer service and they had... wait for it... OAT MILK ICE CREAM! As someone who prefers dairy free and vegan options, I was shocked and was NOT disappointed. Ugh, this place is adorable but man is it way overpriced! My cousin got an ice cream cone that was over $4 and it had one tiny scoop. Her fiancée got the edible cookie dough and that was about $4 and it was so small! I would not recommend this at all. They also had only two lactose free options (a peanut butter cookie and a chocolate fudge cookie) and that's it. So I ended up not ordering anything. Everyone was really disappointed. My ten-year-old nephew and I purchased two cookie sundaes here the other day. He really enjoyed his and gave it "10 stars." I was pleased with things. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't outrageously-priced, IMHO. Everything's more expensive than it used to be ... I can only give this place 3 stars because of the horrible inefficiency displayed. The cookies were good, and they microwave them for your order so they are warm and chewy. For a sundae, they place the [very large] cookie at the bottom of the dish and then scoop your ice cream choice on top, as well as toppings. Be careful, the cookies are very sweet, so if you choose a sweet ice cream and sweet topping, you have sweet overload. The portions are generous and the cookies are good. Our problem was that the line was crazy long, with three people working in a little booth. What they needed was an order taker out in the line, taking the order and then taking your payment. Watching people get to the window, and, after having been in line for 20 minutes, look up at the menu and decide what to have, was a little infuriating. But on top of that, the amount of time it took the window person to take the order, punch it into the tablet, then swing it around for you to insert your credit card, and wait for the transaction to complete was just excruciating. This place needs a 4th person out taking orders and payments or I won't be back. read more
