The staff is super friendly, accommodating, and patient. I have been looking for someplace to get freshly ground meat and this was perfect. I'm torn writing this review. As a small business owner in the hospitality industry, I know & understand how tough things have been. But when I feel let down by another local business, I think people should know. On a neighbor's recommendation, I gave C & C a try, hoping I'd found my new go-to butcher. Sadly, I was disappointed. I sprang for the "Plan Nine Freezer Menu" at $240, which was supposed to offer a variety of chicken, pork, beef, and sausages. A nice steak cut or two in the mix wouldn't have gone amiss. The chicken burgers were a letdown - bland and lacking freshness. I tried to overlook that, thinking maybe it was a one-off. Then, there were the two whole chickens. While the first one didn't leave any impression (which I suppose means it was okay), the second one was a different story. It was definitely past its prime by the time I got it, which is surprising given I live just 8 minutes away and stored it immediately. Even after a thorough cleaning, the off smell took over my kitchen when I tried cooking it in a stew. We resorted to takeout that night. To add insult to injury, the ground BPV mix, supposedly 2 pounds, was short by 10 ounces. And right now, as I pen this review, I'm defrosting the ground sirloin. The attached photo will show the marked weight against the actual one, with the unopened frozen package as proof. I'll still give two stars, mainly because the in-store staff was genuinely kind. They have a section of dried aged steaks, cheeses galore Ample parking, affordable and pristine environment. The meat quality was great! They do catering and can accommodate any holiday party large or small needs. So nice, professional, helpful, and guided my purchases for me and a friend I brought with me. I have to say on my two visits I was not impressed. The store has a good selection and some nice quality meat and products. Unfortunately, however, on both my visits, I found the service to be curt to me, other customers may not have been treated as I was. Case in point- when I asked for a certain type of cut the butcher seemed to be annoyed, not friendly, very corrective of questions, and asks. If I didn't ask the "right question" or asked a "stupid one" he should have been nicer in sharing his knowledge. He did his job but didn't interact with me in a positive, friendly way. Made for a very uncomfortable transaction. It made me feel as if he was bothered and thought "this guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about but thinks that he does" when in actuality, I was looking to benefit from his experience and take direction. Not good. They have a very solid 5 star rating from customers (albeit from a relatively small sample) that means something. That is why I did not review more critically. However, for me. I lived in Huntington a long time and never thought to go in until recently. I love this place. Fresh meats and cold cuts from what looks like a family owned business. Reminds me of the pork store I would frequently visit back in Canarsie Brooklyn. I even love how they wrap the meats in a thick brown wax paper like they did in the 70s-80s. The prices were good considering how everything has gone up. If you want some good quality meats from a community store and not have to deal with Sunday supermarket lines give this place a try it's well worth it! read more

Was buying from V & F on Larkfield the last few years. I called to inquire about curbside pick up and VF told me ok. Called back an hour later to place the order and some jerk off said no we don t do that and I don't know who told you that, call back and maybe that guy will answer. Called C&C and they were very nice on the phone. Ordered a ton of sh-t and they brought it all out to the truck. Steaks were gorgeous (Strip, filet), wings were cut up and ready to grill. This part I hope the owner gets to see. BEST BEST Hamburger patties I've ever eaten in my life! Bought the Ribeye patties (which I've never really seen, have seen mixes). Salt pepper on the grill, hands down BEST I've ever eaten. Folks get the Ribeye burgers and thank me later. Soon to be lifelong customer. read more

We only found out about c and c a few years after moving to the area but after almost 15 years in Huntington I can say they are unmatched in every way. Last week we had some dry aged T bones that were out of this world amazing and I have been dreaming about them since. The owner Joe is a wonderful person and is always the first one to ask you how you are doing that day. The selection is amazing and I am always finding new things to try. , and they also have a fresh pasta fridge for when I need something to make quick.Thank god for C&C I'm not sure my family will ever settle for anything less! read more

Joey is quite accommodating with his customers. I have been going to C&C for close to 20 years. Back then you were able to buy "prime" cuts of meat. Nowadays, the quality of their meat is basically choice and you can save quite a bit of cash by ordering your meat at any butcher at any supermarket. Although at some distance away A&S meats within a shopping center on Deer Park Avenue, Babylon is superior, the quality is "prime" and the prices won't kill you. Just to add some further information. All of my Mom's brothers were butchers and one owned a meat packing plant. As such, I am well aware of the difference between "prime" and "choice" meats as we only experienced "prime" cuts and C&C does not sell "prime" any longer but charge as though they did. read more

I don't know what the hype is about C & C meats. The wife went there today and asked for ribeye steaks 1 1/4" thick. First off, the steaks weren't cut even. Second, the 3 steaks ranged from 1 1/4 to 3/4 thickness. I cooked them to medium rare. These had to be the WORST steaks I've had. Tough and the flavor was not good. At 19.99 a lb, I feel robbed and disappointed. This is lower than king kullen quality steak. Do not go here. read more
