We recently hosted a party of 43 at Fogo de Chão, and it exceeded our expectations. They combined two private rooms for us and gave us plenty of time to set up. The unlimited gourmet buffet was outstanding, and the continuous parade of perfectly prepared meats offered an amazing variety. Everything was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. Dessert and coffee were the perfect finish. The service was exceptional. There were plenty of attentive servers, and everyone was friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Samantha, the manager, who was a pleasure to work with and made the entire planning process easy. I've heard of these kind of meat places but not being much of a meat eater, haven't had any desire to try it until my friend said, "let's go!". I'm open to almost anything so off we went. The restaurant was nice. I liked the decor and that we could see the giant grill. The waiter must have been new he seemed timid, not really explaining much and we got a little confused as how and what to order. We ordered drinks, they took a million years to come out so we were just sitting there drinking water not really sure what was happening. They even came to fill up our waters and completely missed my daughter's empty water glass but left us sitting not knowing what we should be doing. Finally someone came with the bread so we asked if we can go to the salad bar thing in the middle of the restaurant. The salad bar was great! So many different things to pick from! The potato salad, corn, tropical fruit, jicama apple salad were some of my favorites. My daughter only ate from that and I could have as well. My friend and I did the meat thing. It was ok, there was some that were good, a few that were very fatty and forget the pork chop, when the guy started slicing it looked like fat and raw pork. They came around with grilled pineapple that had cinnamon on it. I loved that and also the cheese with the honey, delicious! The side dishes- cheesy bread that dripped oil was a no and the rectangular fried things that looked like potato but weren't potato were chokingly dry but the plantains were sweet and delicious! We had a very disappointing experience at this location. After being seated, we waited over over 30 minutes for the meat service without any warning that it would take that long. We only visited the salad bar while waiting, but never actually ate because we specifically came for the full Brazilian steakhouse experience. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time with no proper service, we decided to cancel. Despite this, we were still charged for the buffet, even though the only thing we consumed was sparkling water, which we were fully willing to pay for. The manager, Donovan Mora, handled the situation very poorly. His attitude came across as rude, dismissive, and sarcastic rather than understanding or solution-oriented. Customer service and hospitality were clearly lacking, which made the experience even more frustrating. As Brazilians, we are very familiar with Brazilian steakhouses and the level of service they are known for, and unfortunately this experience did not reflect that standard at all. The waitress we had clearly was not thrilled to have to wait on a table with big. She was impatient and rolled her eyes multiple times because we didn't know what we wanted to do after sitting down for barely 5 minutes. The rest of the visit felt rushed and the staff was not very pleasant, we went for a special occasion and it was overshadowed by the staffs bad attitude. We had reservations for 6:30 and upon arriving we were seated immediately at a table right next to the kitchen which meant we never missed a beautiful cut of meat. Perfectly cooked, we had just about every option presented to us and left feeling beyond stuffed. We ate all manner of beef and pork and chicken and turkey. A salad bar completed the meal with some sides for a well-rounded array of food options. Service was well beyond expectations and we could not have been more pleased. I've been to this location many times and have even hosted both an event and a party here in the past. Unfortunately, my most recent visit for a girls' night out was very disappointing. My friend had won a dinner for two at an event with Fogo, so we were excited to enjoy the experience. When we arrived, we asked what the dinner included and were told it was the full experience, minus alcoholic drinks. That was fine since neither of us planned to drink alcohol. We confirmed with our server that the non-alcoholic drinks we ordered were included, and she assured us they were. She put in the order--but that was the last time we saw her all evening. After waiting 10 minutes, we asked about our drinks and were told they were on the way. Fifteen more minutes passed before we saw another server walking by with drinks. We thought they were ours, but she said, "Oh no, these aren't yours," and delivered them to a table seated after us. At that point, we asked another employee named Letty for help. She returned five minutes later with only my friend's drink. When we asked about mine, she said, "She didn't order anything." We explained that I had, and that we had been waiting over half an hour. It took asking two more times and another 15 minutes before I finally received my juice. Service with the food was just as frustrating. Even though we had flipped our card to green, the gauchos repeatedly skipped over our table. Only two came by consistently, offering the same items over and over. When I asked specifically for chicken breast, it took another 25 minutes before chicken finally arrived at our table--and it wasn't breast, but drumsticks and thighs. I took a thigh, only to find it was completely undercooked. By this point, we were over it and decided to just order dessert. That took another 30 minutes and three separate requests to finally arrive. For a 6:00 pm reservation, we didn't leave until 9:00 pm, after watching multiple tables around us get seated, served, and turned over while we continued to be overlooked. To top it off, we were told at the end that we had to pay for one of the drinks, despite the server originally confirming they were included. The manager will post note to say contact them but that just to make it look like they care to resolve issues...you reach out never to hear from anyone. The restaurant was not packed but fairly empty, music was not overwhelming and the gauchos were not serving as the meat as usually was not ready, Our arrival was a bit before 5pm. Upon arriving I told the hostess my reward phone number to get my birthday reward but she could not verify, the reward program is not very good when comes to cashing in on earned rewards. We were seated promptly and I spoke to manager Daniela, who confirmed my reward. Our server Amy was great but something went wrong because when she asked if we wanted dessert, we declined. A few minutes later she brought us our check even though I intended to relax and partake some more of the market table. When Amy left the check, it was almost ten minutes before we got her attention by shouting her name as no amount of hand waving got her attention. So much time elapsed that I was close to finishing my final market table plate. When Amy finally came back, I explained to her that my reward was not applied, she said the manager never informed her. I then explained that we never asked for the check and that's when we had back and forth as though we asked for the check. Amy brought a corrected checked and was none too happy and last we saw of her. Nallely took care of the payment, I left a bit over 22% tip not for Amy but for the support staff. Nallely was apologetic and great. Not sure why both the Westbury and Huntington location make it difficult to redeem a reward or why the gaucho are always waiting to get the meat ready to be served. It was almost 15-20 minutes before they came around, it was about 5pm when we arrived more or less. The check was presented to use in under an hour, well under as when we got the corrected checked it was still under an hour. Again not sure why Amy was hustling us out the door and so combative at the end. We paid for a full churrasco and I ordered the salmon entree with market table...and a drink. No manager ever returned, Daniela was walking around saw the commotion but never came over. Another male manager also took part in seemingly wanting to rush us out with how frequent he came by our table as though checking at what stage we were in our meals. My salmon was over grilled, the exterior crust was extremely thick making the salmon between the crust extremely salty and dried out. I tried to eat it with some white rice but the rice had more moisture than the salmon. Never issue with queens location using rewards and they always ready to serve. Photos show tasteless asparagus soggy and the dry salmon and empty restaurant. Also my companion was finished with two full market table plates before any meats were served, by then she was full and forced her self to try and enjoy some lamb and chicken. Came for dinner because I had won a gift card. Our waitress took our order for drinks and then disappeared. She never me ruined her shift was ending, we just never saw her again. We waited for our non-alcoholic drinks for quite a while before saying something to another waitress because ours was nowhere to be found. They then went back to try and find someone else and couldn't get an answer. A third time, almost 30 minutes later, someone else brought one drink out and said the other was never entered in, and it took another 10 minutes for that drink to be brought out. Throughout the night, several times staff had to check several times what was included in the gift card and there was so much confusion. We still ended up paying for stuff that said it was included. Food itself was decent. Market table had good options, though I will say the Cesar salad was drowning in dressing. Instead of a well-balanced experience, they seem focused on filling you up quickly with the same selections. The staff took the same path and we seemed to be last on the route. Always getting the last. The kicker was the lamb chops. They came to our table of four with 3 lamb chops!!! Waited over 40 minutes for more. It almost became a joke as everyone who came by responded a few more minutes when we told them we were waiting for lamb chops. The finally came and tasted different. No seasoning. No flame broiled look or flavor. We flipped our cards to red. We were done. Ordered 2 desserts to go that we were waiting for. All of a sudden 4 lamb chops, 1 per person, appeared. Seasoned and flame grilled. At these prices we shouldn't have to beg for a lamb chop. Honestly , I would rather not have all you can eat and just order what I want. Waiting for it for so long was off putting. I feel like we were at the wrong end of the route that the meat guys took. A little too late. In light of restaurant week, I decided to take the plunge and treat myself to a sit down dinner here. It takes a few minutes to get started but their salad/appetizer bar has plenty for you to snack on before the meat comes out. I started with some cheeses, cured meats, salads, and pickled peppers. These did well to prep me for what's to come. I couldn't keep track of every meat I tried but as for what stood out? The picanha of course, the "Queen of steaks". Brazil's bread and butter. All the meats were seasoned generously with a crisp outer crust and perfectly medium rare inside. I made sure to have a few slices of this before the server left my table. I felt all the other meats just didn't taste close to it with my least favorite meat being their bacon wrapped steak. It was awfully cooked. The bacon outside was flimsy and the steak itself was way overcooked. I also find their rice and beans to be incredibly lacking, I only tasted bay leaf. The cheese bread still rocks though, wish I could have more! While I did leave stuffed, this meal was still just okay top to bottom. This location is very well kept when it comes to appearance and overall cleanliness. Seating is nice and ample and they cushioned chairs are comfy. Getting seated with a a reservation is quick and easy. Now for the down sides. Upon being seated it is expected that the sides which come with the meals are delivered promptly. This was not the case. The mashed potatoes came about 15-20min after being seated. The sauces which we had to ask for took about 30min from time of seating and the crispy polenta and other thing somewhere in between. Thus we have multiple rounds of meats coming by without any sauces to use with them. Ordered the bone marrow in addition and that was very good, also took a while to get. Our waitress was ok. Seemed to be directing other waiters and giving them instructions while refilling our water cups and not overly attentive. Hear her direct a waiter to give one table one item and another the other item (sides that everyone waits on). So that was very poorly executed. If the kitchen can't keep up with making sides and wait staff can't promptly deliver, maybe hold off seating. The meats going around were fairly decent. Did get a lamb chop that was basically raw inside which was disappointing. The grilled cheese was the highlight of the meal. For the $72 a person price tag, really expect better service. The salad bar options were fair but all lacked flavor. At least put some salt and pepper shakers on the table so people can season their food. Between this and other places that do similar things, I think I'll stick to the other spot. But remember, this is just my take away. Party of 6(4 adults 2 under 17 teens). 5:30 reservations, seated promptly (after she checked to see if the table was ready) there were only 8 diners in the whole restaurant that holds at least 100 diners. First server did not come over for 15 minutes. Took water, soda and one glass wine order. Soda took 15 minutes. 3 of us ordered the $74.00 churasco, two ordered the grilled chicken, one the salmon. There is No coordination between the multiple servers or the kitchen. The salmon came out in 6 minutes! We had barely sat down from the market table and there is her main course! Skewered food started around 6:10, the two chicken dinners did not show until 6:40!!! One server said sorry, 5 minutes more and it showed up 25 minutes later. BTW, the side dishes came out with are beverages and were hard and/or cold by time food service arrived. There was no coordination between servers, 5/6 water glasses empty for 20 minutes and no one checks or asks. 3 times a gentleman came by (manager type?, didn't introduce himself or welcome us), he had the attitude that seemed they were trying to finish us up to leave. The first time he asked "is there anything else you need? We had not been served the ribeye or filet mignon yet, and told him so. He walked back with no words and 10 minutes later they arrived and sliced 2-2" pieces each for of us. Our green disks were still up and we kept getting passed up by the high end meet servers. By 7pm, we had enough. BTW, we asked for a box for the remaining fried bananas and were told no! We can't take the side dishes that are part of our dinner. I asked, ur throwing in out right? Then they even dropped a piece of meat on me and just walked away!! I honestly couldn't believe it. I could have made a stink but chose not to. Finally the waitress seemed annoyed a few times we asked for things. Few flies around the table too. The wait times would have been fine but the place was maybe a little more than half full, they seemed understaffed. One of the worst service experiences I have ever had. Fogo de Chao has a serious problem with charging patrons absurd dinner prices while giving lunch level service. My party was charged $73 per person to wait 20 minutes in between being served cuts. This is the second experience I've had where I've arrived just past the lunch cutoff when the dinner pricing takes effect, but no new staff has arrived for dinner service, so after being served a few times at the beginning, we spent most of our time afterwards sitting and waiting 10-20 minutes with empty plates while hungry to get more food. For lunch service, this is perhaps understandable since the rate is discounted. But waiting so long for dinner service is simply unacceptable. On top of that, one in our party waited another absurdly long time for their entree since they were not getting the churrasco; especially since it was a salmon dish. We voiced our frustrations with our server, and noted how we hadn't been served in 20 minutes. She left and a gaucho came back with one more cut, and then we waited another 20 minutes with no more food. We told the server we were just done and frustrated with the whole experience, and wanted to just pay our check and go. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years, and my experience has always been that in a situation like this, the manager will get involved to smooth things over. But he never came, no attempt was made to smooth things over. We will not be returning. EDIT: I'm lowering even further to one star after looking at the website and realizing that we didn't even get a single offering of some of the cuts advertised. The service is amazing, the food is amazing, and coming here is an entire experience. We (my husband and I) came with another couple. I made a reservation for 5 pm and sat down no problem, the restaurant was still pretty empty. By 6 pm, the place was PACKED. No table was empty. I will say from 5-5:45, not a ton of food went by. But after that, I don't think we went more than 3 minutes without something. It's great if you like to try lots of things. Each time they came around it would be a bite it 2 and it was always delicious. I will add that I've only come here and ordered the "full experience." I can't imagine any of the other menu items, or upgrades are even worth it. The full experience is just so much food on its own. It's $71 pp for the full experience. People were there with kids, I personally would not. I want to enjoy my meal that's going to cost $70 pp. They have great all day Happy Hour drink specials. I drank glasses of Malbec that were $8 a glass, and they had 2 beers that were $5 a beer on special. My husband and the other couple each got a speciality drink that they all LOVED, and I would say each drink averaged $18. We got the crème brûlée cheesecake. I've visited Fogo de Chao in Carle Place and had the opportunity to experience the Churrasco and salad bar, but to be honest was a bit disappointed as it wasn't to my liking/preference. Fast forward nearly 5 years later I find myself back taking a friend for her birthday during their happy hour and loved it! The food was really good - empanadas for the app and a picanha burger w/ a red rose. The best part about it was that it was all reasonably priced. I was quite surprised. He tells me to wait for his manager to come speak to me. 5 more minutes, then comes back and just apologizes. Manager couldn't even be bothered to speak to me in person. It was a very slow day, maybe a quarter of the restaurant occupied. Not the first time I've had a similar experience. You can choose between the cuts of meat you'd like to receive or just gain access to their amazing bar. Our server was amazing and did forget our drinks but TBH is was a busy Saturday evening. Food is always fresh and cooked when brought to the table. Must try the Brazilian cocktail, piranha, grilled cheese toast. Any other meat will be pale to comparison and also make sure to ask for chili sauces and hot sauce. Skip the raw bar as you will be full from the abundant meats! read more

Food is good. A bit salty, but that's what you get at an "AYCE" type of establishment. The salad bar is just ok. Nothing special. There are 3 levels of dining at $54/72/92... the latter is with lobster tails (small but good) and comes with desert. The service is just horrible. The meat cutters are fantastic and you will get your meat quick and often. Ask for a drink, even water, and 20 to 30 mins later, you'll ask 3 more times. Side dishes, which are included, same issue. Maybe you'll get it, maybe you won't. Everyone responds kindly, but you are then left wondering "where the heck is my food"???? It really sucks when you're almost done with salad bar and meats, full, and then your lousy drinks come and side dishes. The manager does 200% more than the wait staff. He is concerned and fills gaps, which there are many. I was going with a 3, but this is my 2nd visit in the past 2 weeks and it has been consistently this way. Note to Mgmt: Train your staff to be quick, not just nice, or at least rationalize how it takes 40 mins+ to get sweet plantains to the table, a coke, or water. Never seen this before so consistently off anywhere else. Fix this, and then maybe we get to a 4, as the atmosphere is very nice and convenient to park at the mall. read more
