Went to Prime Time Butcher today and Ryan helped me with my order. Todays visit I found that they have yet another New thing. Seafood fresh or cooked from Great neck Fisheries. I'm told that they have had them for a little more than a month now and they are selling well. I bought the salmon though fresh I put it in the freezer. They have a variety of types of marinated uncooked turkey breast which are always favorable and tender when cooked. They also have a mix of different cooked and frozen meals along with various frozen or fresh burgers of turkey, chicken or beef. They sell fresh turkeys and I expect they already have many orders for Thanksgiving. They have a rewards account that you can set up to get credits and tally for discounts. If you pay with a credit or debit card there is a 3 and 1/2 % charge added to the order (see pix) read more

I've made several purchases from them. Their prepared turkey breast and hams are great, as are some of the side dishes. HOWEVER, I can (and now do) buy much higher quality meats at my local privately owned grocery store at much lower prices. Every piece of meat I ordered from Prime Time (including bone in pork chops and sirloins) were loaded with fat and grizzle. Their filet mignon leaves much to be desired as well. Summarily, a good go to for some holiday type foods, but buy most of you meats local from a good butcher shop or private grocer as I'm doing. Attached photo shows scrap from my Berkshire Bone In Pork Chops; scrambled is from two, with the small portion of meat in the lower left being the edible portion from one. Edible portion from the second was about the same size. The company did issue me a refund plus a coupon. I used that to purchase two sirloins, which were nearly as disappointing. read more

Walked into this butcher shop not knowing anything . When I looked at the prices I thought to myself, "seriously"? I thought I bought prime cuts of beef before. It wasn't this expensive. Regardless I walked out w 3lbs of porterhouse and much poorer for the effort. But no word of a lie best steak I've made for myself . I've had prime cuts of meat before. But never came out this good. Service was fantastic. I was overwhelmed w the prices. The older gentleman still helped and made recommendations. No judgement (or at least no visible judgement) for me being blown away by the prices. Would recommend. May have to take a loan for my Christmas prime rib but will probably buy from here. read more

This Sunday we decided to chef up a nice Porterhouse steak paired with cauliflower mash and asparagus. We Yelped a butcher on the way home and came across Prime Time Butcher-- which had stellar reviews! We were just 4 minutes away when I yelped it and got there in minutes. Very clean store and friendly staff. They offer a wide variety of meats, patties and other dinner sides. I ordered Prime Time roast for my family for Thanksgiving. The meat could not have turned out better. Perfect roasting instructions right on the package. It made wonderful roast beef. Perfectly tender and rare. Very little fat. By the end of the holiday weekend there was none left. We ate it hot with gravy. We ate it cold with horseradish cream sauce on sandwiches for lunch. I drive thirty minutes to shop here. Prime time has the most better then prime aged beef you can find on Long Island. We have never been disappointed. When you see the marbling on the meat, smell the nutty aging process, it's pretty awesome. Prime time also offers the best lamb I have ever had. It is the only lamb my wife will eat. Never gamey, just rich, marbled American lamb. They will ruin you for restaurants. Lastly, I get fresh ducks ordered for me here. Duck goes wrong fast when it is not impeccably fresh and as Lou at prime time says it has to be "fresh." Go here, you may pay a little more but you definitely get the quality you expect. I recently ordered pickup from Prime Time Butchers for the first time. They are only a 10 minute drive away. I ordered online. I had their Steak Burger which was very delicious and their frank on a roll which were also very good. I learned online that they have specials and I signed up for that. The pickup went very smoothly. Prime Time Butchers follow Covid restrictions - online ordering, contactless payments and wearing masks also social distancing . It was a good change from one of my go to lunch places Pete the Greek. If Prime Time Butchers specials are good and reasonably priced I can alternate between Pete The Greek and the Prime Time Butchers when I feel I have to get out of the house and enjoy a lunch pickup! I also purchased gluten free sides and they were delightful and filling. They have potato, macaroni, shrimp, etc salads. They also have delicious soups to go in a glass bottle a Must try! Good quality cuts of meat and hamburger blends are good (especially bliss burger). It's nice to have an old school type butcher in the area. The store is buried in the back of a strip mall so you won't see it from the main road. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars who patronize the store who the counter guys knew by name. There is no better butcher shop on LI than Prime Time. Lou is the real deal and all of their steaks are dry aged prime beef, and Lou will happily cut them to order. The steak you get at Prime Time compared to the steak you get at a supermarket, even a high end supermarket, is like comparing Peter Lugar's steak to Sizzler - yeah they're both from cows, but they sure ain't the same cows. If you can appreciate the amazing taste of prime dry aged meat, or have never experienced it, head over to Prime Time and get yourself a couple of steaks, cook them medium rare, and spoil yourself.
