I called and reserved a Taxi to the hospital for a medical procedure because I wasn't able to drive after the appointment and they told me that they would have someone to pick me up and when they didn't show up i called and they said that they didn't have any available drivers to pick me up so I missed the appointment. Do not use these guys unless you have no other choice. This Ford Crown Victoria is practically totaled. Check engine light is on. Sounds like the right rear wheel is about to fly off. Car looks atrocious and smells pretty rough too. Not to mention it's overpriced in comparison to an Uber. C & H Taxi, I want to love you. I have friends who work for you. But we gotta talk. First of all, I've tried several times to get a cab, so this is becoming a really troubling pattern in our relationship. This last time, I called, and you said you were "sending out a car" and that they would "call when they're on the way." I waited, but no call. I called back, and was told, "we're really busy so we don't know when a driver will be able to come and get you." I was like, "wait, what??? You just said a car was on the way..." and you were like, "we're really busy and we don't know when one can come get you." So I said, "you don't know? Like, not even a rough guess?" And you said, "no, ma'am, we're just really busy..." So I cancelled my car, and called my Dad to drive out in the snow with the flu to take me to the airport. The last time, I was the one with the flu, and I called you to go pick up my daughter, who was stranded. I was prepared to give you a big tip for getting my daughter home safely, but you left her stranded, as well. And when I called to complain, you gave me the same line about "we're really busy and don't know exactly when we can send out a car." What kind of cab service is this? Literally, people call you when they need a ride and have somewhere to go. That's kind of why people call cabs. Who calls a cab and can wait for a car to maybe pick them up sometime? That's not even a thing. All the drivers I know are awesome. Every single one of them. Sadly, I do not know them from driving me around, though, because I have never successfully been able to call the number and have a car show up. Like, I might do better to just actually call them on their cellphones and skip the dispatch, altogether, except I like to keep business business and personal personal, you know what I mean? And, I would really like to see you improve your business model, because you're CWV's only cab company, and you've been really good to our community, with the art cabs and sober taxi service and all that. So, please, please, please get a better system for dispatching cars, and for God's sake, if you don't have a car, available, don't tell people you've got a "car on the way" because I totally could have missed my flight if I wasn't skeptical enough to call back. I don't understand the bad reviews. I've used C&G over the years for airport runs and never been disappointed. One time a driver assured me he'd get me to the airport in a snow storm and he did!! Last time I rode with C and H taxi, was back in March 2019. Wasn't happy that I was not able to speak with someone in Charleston but none the less, I only had to wait about 45 minutes for a cab to come to Kanawha City Bob Evan's. I can't remember who they driver was, but she was very polite and helped me with my bags. When I got to my destination, she helped me take them out of the car. The car was very clean. The fare to Big Chimney was very well priced at around 35.00. I never have rode in a cab till the beginning of this year and I can say, very polite drivers and responsibly price for short distance. read more

Serious retraining needed!! Hitchhiking would be better!! I wish you could give a company less than one star. It was THAT bad. I arrived late last night and called my hotel for a pickup and they indicated they would call me a taxi and asked for my info so they could contact me. I didn't hear anything for more than 20 minutes so I reached out. I spoke with a girl first and she said well we are busy and we will get there when we can. I tried to ask additional follow up questions and instead of trying to display good customer service she hung up on me. I waited another 10 minutes and called back again wanting to get on the information on where I was on the list (am I the next to be picked up or the fifth?) and I spoke with a guy. Instead of listening to my question or asking who i was he said " you are being rude", yet he was the one yelling at me so what the heck?? And then he said " you have called 4 times" (which I hadn't and he would have known if he would have even asked who I was). You think on a flight full of people there may be more than one wanting a taxi?? Finally Keisha showed up and heck if I was waiting anymore. She took me to my hotel and was kind and cordial. I would have done better trying to risk my life hitchhiking. There is ZERO excuse (small town or not) to treat people the way I was treated last night. Seriously fire the dispatchers that were working last night, they deserve it and your business will be healthier because of it! read more

The reviews on here for C & H are a bit harsh, I think. My goodness, this is a relatively small town with one taxi company and few taxi drivers. If something is so important that you may lose a job or contract or miss a plane, then use a shuttle service or ask a friend to pick you up. I have used this company easily a hundred times in my life and they do a decent job with the amount of drivers that they have. I have been picked up late a few times, but I have been picked up early more times. read more

My husband had some where he needed to be at 630... So he called at 4 to request a 6pm pick up. All was good until they didn't show as promised so he called back and they then informed him request times are not garunteed!! Why could they not specify this when he called originally... He would have made other arrangements or called at a later time for a pick up!! Do not rely on this place to get you where you need to go unless you have no schedule to adhere to. TERRIBLE!!!!! I had a 6:45 AM flight today, and when I checked into my hotel last night,I asked the front desk clerk how long in advance I should call for a taxi. She actually chuckled, and said, "They don't always show up, but when they do, it could be anytime during the day." With that, I made it a point to call (5:00AM Monday) and the woman who answered told me she only had two drivers working, and that she would go out into the garage and ask the driver there if he could pick me up. She told me to "call back in a few minutes." So I waited only 5 minutes (smart move) and called back. It went to voice mail. REALLY? Charleston isn't exactly a bustling metropolis, but one would think that the capital city of a state would have some form of public transportation. I was told by several locals that Uber wasn't approved by those wonderful legislators there in West Virginia. So, my only question is this: would it even do any good to complain to a governing body such as a public service commission? If it is even possible, can West Virginia be any more non progressive? Oh, I got a ride from an employee of the hotel, thank goodness. As I cleared security at the airport, I got a call back from this so called taxi service. Most unreliable taxi service I have ever used anywhere, in the country. The drivers themselves may be nice (and each gives you their number or a card to call "them" specifically next time ?? Confused on that its almost like they know their company sucks and they want to generate their own income somehow) I don't know who operates the phone lines but I swear it sounds like a kid answering sometimes and they always tell you "15 minutes" which one day I waited 2 and half hrs (on a Sunday) for them constantly telling me "15 more minutes" which made me late for work and almost loose my job. They need to be honest about wait times and get it together!!! read more

We decided to give C&H Taxi a try since they were a sponsor of the Kanawha County Humane Society's Kegs4K9s fundraiser that we would be attending. I contacted them almost a week ahead of time to schedule & make sure that they would not have a problem with our 2 dogs traveling in their car for the event. The lady I spoke with was very friendly and said that would not be a problem. The man who came to the hotel to pick us up never even got out of the car to help us. I had to tap on the window to get him to look up from his phone so he would pop the trunk for us. Despite not being impressed with the service thus far, we tipped him well and asked if he would also be the person picking us back up. He informed us he was getting off soon but assured us that they were sponsoring the event & would have drivers ready once the event was over. Once the event was over I called the company to arrange a pick up and again, the woman was very friendly and said she would get someone "right over to us." It was a little over 1/2 an hour when I called back just to make sure we were in the right spot for pick up as I realized no exact location had been spoken of. The woman put me on hold and tried to contact the driver but she said his radio must have been off as she was unable to reach him. This was worrisome but we thanked her and continued to wait. We waited almost an HOUR and still no driver. We were literally the last patrons at the event.. The dogs were exhausted, laying on the concrete sidewalk (we have a handicapped dog who cannot stand for long periods of time) and we had zero idea if the driver was even coming at this point. I called the company back and spoke to the same woman who advised that he was still coming but could not give me an exact time as he was on another run. What?? She said that the company was giving free rides to people at the fundraiser who lived within 5 miles of the event so it had them backed up. Do not get me wrong, I think that is an amazing service for them to offer but not at the expense of paying customers who made special arrangements for transportation over a week prior. To say we are disgusted with this company would be a gross understatement. I immediately requested an Uber and he was there in UNDER 2 MINUTES!! I am not much for taxis anyway but wanted to support them as they were supporting the humane society who is near and dear to our hearts. Their lack of concern that we were literally stranded with our dogs and the disregard for our time is unacceptable. If you need a ride, I recommend contacting an Uber driver!! read more

I pay with a credit card, so now I have all of these pending charges for rides I've never taken.
