Morris Renovations kept blaming the delay on the factory and on covid. I find it very hard to believe because this was late 2021, the first half of 2022 when covid wasn't that big of a deal anymore. Also, I picked Marvin windows which are made in the US using Canadian lumber. Regardless, during those 8 months, it was incredibly tough to get in touch with anyone from Marvin who could provide me an update. My "project manager" Roman was nowhere to be found and would not return my calls. The guy who answers the phone just said he didn't know anything. For "security reasons" he would not provide me a direct number for Roman so I basically had no way to reach my supposed "project manager". You can't just take a 7K deposit and go MIA. Anyway, I was just about to lose all hope, when, miraculously, after 8 months, my windows were finally ready. On the day of installation, however, it turned out that one of my windows had been "misplaced" and no one could tell me where it was or when I could get it. 2 weeks later, they "found" my window. We set up a new install date, only to get it rescheduled with less than 24h notice. I didn't even get an apology. I'm still waiting on that missing window.... Now, as to the installation itself, it was far from top-notch workmanship. I had to go around and ask the guys to add more insulation foam in spots they had missed. They scratched and damaged the new windows in a couple of places, and they broke the molding on the interior so now I have to get that replaced too. Their caulking looks like a 2-year-old did it. To top it all off, they almost yelled at me for picking a big bow window with fixed panes because it is harder to install without specialized equipment that Morris does not have.All in all, my experience with Morris Renovations was extremely disappointing. After spending the equivalent of a new car, I was expecting to at least get quality to match the price. Sadly, all Morris has to offer is good salespeople. Once you've signed on the dotted line, you will get nothing but frustration and disappointment. Learn from my mistake and find a better contractor. UPDATE: I finally got my missing window. After reading my original review, the guys really tried their very best this time. Their best is just not good enough, unfortunately. They didn't use house wrap to prevent water intrusion. They didn't shim any of my windows. They somehow managed to over-tighten some screws and had nails popping out on the finished side of a 10K bow window. Not to mention all the scratches and dents they managed to put in. Their caulking is still deplorable. And they should not be allowed to touch moulding or any finished carpentry. I am mostly mad at myself because instead of going with the contractors I know, I decided to spend a little more for "professional window installers" thinking they would actually know what they are doing. I know how hard it is to find good contractors. I really hope this review helps prevent people from doing the same mistakes I did.

Sliding door installation…read more rough opening was not measured correctly. it was at least 3 inches too narrow and 3 inches too short. to take up space on the top, they broke apart the old door and stuffed it in the gap at the top, the sides where filled (mostly) with foam. It fit so poorly, they took longer screws from the old door. no felt or barrier on the sill. good job on the metal work around the window. I guess they have to be good to hide the terrible craftsmanship. Calls to the sales person go unanswered.

Due to all the necessary repairs, they were here for 14 days. Each day they were on time, put in a good day's work, and were polite, cheerful, and honest. I've found that a lot of painters like to work with Benjamin Moore paint. I have a thing about Farrow and Ball, and they worked with it, without complaint. His staff unfortunately follows his lead, even begrudgingly, characterizing this business as having no integrity whatsoever. The most immoral, unethical behavior of the events, is the following. We were elevating the ceiling height in our enclosed front porch. Above the dropped ceiling was space similar to an attic, and the intent was to eradicate the unused attic-like space and raise the ceiling for aesthetic purposes. During the estimate, the project manager moved a ceiling tile, examined and measured, and said the current existing support was more than sufficient for the project, and proper for code purposes. Fast forward several months to the actual construction, the ceiling was demo'd, and then Mike calls and says that he needs to rebuild the rafters. I told him they were thoroughly examined already. He then raised his voice, belligerent and aggressive, and like a thief in the night says that I have two choices - I can either choose to stop construction and cause a significant & timely delay while we await inspections, or I can pay $3000 for one day's work of exchanging the rafters. So, I watched them remove perfectly fine construction, just so they could rob me. His project manager knew it, his office assistant knew it, his crew knew it. he knew it, and we knew it. And it was unscrupulous, despicable, and an entirely sleazy way of squeezing money from good people. I hate to be stereotypical, and hindsight is 20/20 but it added up in the end when I remembered Mike showed up in a $100k car and $200 jeans to give a hardworking family an estimate on modifying their home, one that he ultimately inevitably disregarded for the sake of his own benefit and meager financial gain. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere, read and trust the accounts from other concerned reviewers of this abhorrent, dishonest individual.
