Roberto and his team just finished painting two bedrooms for me and did an absolutely gorgeous job. Not only that, they fixed some longstanding plaster cracks likely caused by water damage, and replaced some historically inaccurate baseboard moldings that made me cringe every time I looked at them. Due to all the necessary repairs, they were here for 14 days. Each day they were on time, put in a good day's work, and were polite, cheerful, and honest. I've found that a lot of painters like to work with Benjamin Moore paint. I have a thing about Farrow and Ball, and they worked with it, without complaint. Roberto was exceptionally quick about getting me all the necessary paperwork for the co-op approval, and I was able to get it signed off on just about instantaneously. Highly recommended. read more

Very good experience. The price seemed very fair, probably cheaper than many other painters. Showed up on time with another guy, got a huge master bedroom done in a day, I really didn't think he could do it, but he did! Taped off all the floors with plastic, rearranged the furniture and covered it and then put it back. Dave and Ben did a fantastic job painting my apartment! They were very professional, and were able to complete the job quickly and a day earlier than expected. Dave came by right away to give me an estimate and then we were able to start a few days later, which fit my schedule perfectly. The painters took the time to fix my walls, so that the paint job looked very smooth. They helped move my bed, dresser, table and couch out of the way, and covered everything very well, so that nothing was harmed. Ben even helped me caulk my bathtub and changed a lightbulb! I hired Dave solely based on yelp reviews. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. Our project included a living room, dining room, hallway and 2 bedrooms in a prewar apartment that had been a bit neglected. He personally managed our project and worked side by side his staff. This was very important to us because so many contractors claim to do the work when giving an estimate but then leave you with a motley crew of people who have not been clearly instructed. Also, if you live in a landmark building or a co-op like we do then Dave is your painter! He followed the building rules and won over our super, which made our lives as new residents so much easier! We hired Dave of Brushed Interiors in December 2013 just before Christmas to paint the first floor of our duplex - open kitchen and living room, bedroom and bathroom. I found Dave through a search online and he was an incredible find. We moved into our new apartment nine months pregnant and Dave helped turn what could have been a very stressful situation into an easy one. at least a half a dozen times during the painting of my apartment, these guys told me how "high end" their work is. oh yeah? then why did they paint right over outlets, drip paint everywhere and paint cabinets without sanding first so the first time my fingernail brushed the door, the paint totally scraped off? several times they asked me if i wanted the radiators painted to which i answered yes, but they never were. to add insult to injury, they were so desperate for money, they went straight to the bank after leaving my apartment where they tried to cash the check i wrote instead of depositing it in their account like a normal business and i got several frenzied texts and calls insisting i call the bank immediately because, duh, who walks into a bank and tries to cash a 3000 check just issued? i could have gotten the same crappy paint job for half the price. buyer beware. read more

I just closed on my first condo, and for me, the biggest task was getting the apartment painted. There were holes in the wall, cracks in the wall and along the molding, and some sloppy leftover work from the prior paint job that was done. I spent a fair amount of time researching various painters, and based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to reach out to Brushed Interiors. Dave responded to my call right away, and he took the time to listen to my needs and explain my options (I was completely new to this process). The work was completed by Dave and his team yesterday, and when I went by last night, I was thrilled with the outcome. Not only did he fix all of the problems I mentioned, but the paint job looks awesome, and I couldn't be happier. What I also appreciated about Dave was that during the job, he had the foresight to think through certain things and would call to run some things by me, which I'm so relieved he did. For example, I had asked for the insides of my closets to be painted white, but he saw that with the doors open, the white background would look weird against the cedar key color of the regular walls. So glad he made that call. He even noticed that some of the screws from some cover plates were missing. He happened to have screws on him and put them in for me, which of course was not part of the job description. But all of this is a testament to the quality and care you will get from Dave. I normally don't take the time to write such lengthy reviews, and I haven't even written one in years, but for anybody looking for a top-notch painting job, I must recommend Brushed Interiors. read more
