I have used them for them for about 4 years now. I have used other tree companies in the past (higher prices and ok work), but now I don't bother getting quotes from others. C&L's price is reasonable and they do great work. It is a family business and it is easy to communicate with any of them. The grandfather does the estimates (and does ground work). The sons go up in the trees and do most of the cutting, and in the summer, I think the 3rd generation helps. I have recommended them to friends who have been pleased with C&L's work. I've used them to cut out dead limbs from giant oak trees, cut down large trees that were diseased or damaged by storms, and I've had them grind stumps. One job I had was a three day job. Very knowledgeable! We were planning to get rid of eight trees but they took the time to identify three trees which were healthy and strong and could be left in (but pruned), and another that while healthy would cause a lot of damage during an ice storm (and after speaking to a neighbor who has lived in the area loger, very glad they noted that). We called C & L Tree Service on Tues, they came and gave estimate on Wednesday for removing 50 year old 30 foot White Pine that was leaning and came Thursday and removed it. They did an excellent job, very responsive and efficient, removed stump and did an excellent cleanup of the area. Also removed ivy growing up side of chimney and pruned a overgrown crepe myrtle. C&L came out as 4th tree service company to give estimate. The same issue was presented to all four company. C&L presented an alternative, cost efficient solution and was several thousand dollars less expensive than the other quotes. It is a family business and there was a warmth and sincerity about them, including the office worker (probably a wife or mother to the workers). We had a huge oak that was really close to the house that needed to come down! Chuck and his sons did an amazing job! They are careful and cautious which anyone would want when cutting trees down in you yard! I also had them trim a few others while they were here! One of the sons is an Arborist which I really appreciated, as he was very professional. I have done the research, not all tree companies are the same!
