Problem is, he had just taken the top bell off and hosed everything, ostensibly to clean it, in the process washing cobwebs and debris into the top tappet. So there goes my $85 cash fee. Worse, he claims my backflow device is no longer made... and a new one will cost $800. Two days later he sends me an email, asking $375 to replace some parts. Hmmm, so I checked. The entire FEBCO 765 device is only $150, dead common, and easy to buy. They also sell a full service kit (all the interior parts) for $50 ($12 if you buy from China). So everything this idiot claimed was a lie. These devices are dead simple (two plungers and a spring)... But this guy is a crook who wants to exploit his clients. People this dishonest should not have a license from the state.
