A few years ago I used Pro Solutions and Jerry came out for a water pressure issue that impacted our sinks and shower. Jerry was thoughtful and a good communicator on the issue. He fixed the issue immediately and that experience stuck with us. Fast forward to this week, we used them again. Thankfully, no emergencies but I had one toilet needing a tweak and needed hardware changed in one of my bathrooms for the shower and sink that was long overdue. Even though my request wasn't an emergency, Jerry offered to come out within hours of my request to fix everything and was communicative even late into the night (when my toilet started acting up so I frantically messaged them) talk about stellar availability and service. Next day I had Jerry at my door, he was punctual, professional and did a great job of explaining everything so that I could understand what needed to be done, the pricing, and options for the replacement pieces. It was all a seamless and easy process. Jerry was also quick and efficient which was another bonus. What gives this company extra brownie points in my books though is their honesty...To elaborate, I had partially fixed the issue with my toilet before Jerry came but there was still something slightly off about the water levels... after telling Jerry he was able to tweak the part that I didn't know how to fix and literally in seconds, he had the issue resolved. Given what a quick fix it was and that he was already out to help with other plumbing issues, he didn't charge me for the toilet fix. Little things like that go a long way because any other plumber would've likely charged me just for even touching it/assessing it. That shows me that they care about their long-term business and customers, so they aren't out to make a quick buck. Honest, hardworking people are the kind of businesses I'll always go back to for repairs and projects. Two separate experiences and I was a happy customer both times. I called Payless Water Heater & Plumbing and the 'technician' (mind you not a licensed plumber)attempted to light the pilot but was not able to. He said the gas control valve needs to be replaced. He said it would take about 45 minutes and it would be a charge of $629. The water heater is still under warranty so that price is only labor!!!! I called a licensed plumber, he took his time and was able to light pilot; hot water is on and no repair required ... What a racket this company is!!! Who makes $629 for 45 minutes of work .... BUYER BEWARE with this company! I had to pay $59 for a 'service call' and he gave an incorrect diagnosis ... so sad. UPDATE: Per telephone conversation with Payless Water Heater management, they have decided to revisit their pricing structure -- especially for small repairs. He arrived right on time, started by scoping the sewer from an existing cleanout, and clearly explained what he was seeing and what it meant--step by step--so we felt informed the entire time. What really impressed me was how thorough and persistent he was. He continued the inspection from the front of the house where the cleanout was extremely difficult to locate. When he couldn't find it easily, he went through the toilet, pinpointed the cleanout location, found that it was buried underground, uncovered it, opened it, and ran the camera through that line to make sure there were no root issues or hidden problems. He didn't stop there. He also opened a sealed cleanout and ran the camera through that side as well, just to confirm the other portion of the house didn't have roots or any concerns. That level of detail and effort gave me a lot of confidence in the condition of the sewer lines. I was more than pleased with Matt's work--professional, knowledgeable, and truly thorough. We wanted to use a local company that was close. Camarillo plumbing sounded like a good option, not far away and many years in business. The man worked less than one hour, had necessary equipment in his truck (sealant and caulking) so there were no special tools and nothing was functionally wrong with the toilet. He charged $2,000. This happened in September of 2024 but I finally looked up the charge and wanted to make sure I got the correct business before I posted this. We are seniors with a limited income which, imo, makes this an unconscionable move on his part. I can just scream when I remember and that's why it has take me such a long time to complete this review. I can only imagine that he will reap the rewards of his lack of integrity. We had a gas leak a while back and Robert came and saved the day. He was respectful, honest and the best price out there! We talked over the phone, I showed him pictures via text so he knew exactly what to do when he got here. Then just the other day I needed him to come out and put some fittings on my BBQ and he told me what I could do to save some money. Who does that...ROBERT DOES!!! Because of that I deduct a percentage of the footage of my house. I need a legible/readable, and professional looking invoice that I can present to the IRS if they request it in the future. I was handed a quickly written and completely illegible invoice and he drives away immdediatly. That's okay because he has a business to run. The problem is, Eddie seems to be technology phobic. He doesn't have a computer. He wanted to do a repeat of a handwritten invoice, which did not reassure me. When I texted him for something readable which is "customary" in his line of work, his response was to say send the the check and I'll send the invoice. I must look dumb. I told him that is not the way this is going to work. Send the invoice and I'll pay immediately (which is what happened in the end). I suggested that he go to FedEx and they would produce a document. I was trying to help him see there were other ways to get this done. Three to four weeks later a got the invoice and it was perfectly done. Another issue. I like many self employed professionals pay with a credit card. I use them because this is the way I pay for my wife and my vacations, with points. NO NO he doesn't do that. I even told hm I would happily pay the CC service charge. "NO" was the response. Once I received the proper invoice, I offered to teach him how to accept a digital form of payment which when used would have a service charge or 2.65% with a ten cent transaction fee. No response. I was just trying to be a good Samaritan. One last thing regarding what I call a junk fee. He charges $49 for a "trip fee" 'to pay for gas.'" It is exactly 15 miles from his house to mine. that amounts to over $3.00 for gas per mile. I know gas is expensive, but really? I accepted the the charge because I wanted it done to satisfy my wife. Also, it's strange that some of Eddie's complimentary reviews are from people hundreds of miles away. I would hate to see the amount of that "trip charge," to pay for the gas. Hmmm. Sum up Many of you will not need the things that I require and don't care if you get a receipt or not nor do you care about collecting miles for trips. For you, Eddie would be great. For the rest of us, not so much, do more research if you have the time.
