I was served by Fiona and Rosa and these girls know what they're doing. I hate writing a bad review but my experience was so ridiculous I have to share: I was loyal to my old nail shop for years until it closed so I was looking for a new place to become a regular. The first time I came here I was happy with my set and thought I was going to make this my new spot. But, I wondered how the business was so quiet and empty on such a busy street-- the first warning sign. On my second visit, the tech struggled with my Gel X set, reapplying a couple nails about three times because she said there were air bubbles in the glue. Glueing them, then removing, then re-glueing is damaging for your nails. She blamed my nails for being too thin-- something I hadn't heard before. Two days later, those same nails she kept reapplying completely broke off at the bed (where my natural nail ended). My work requires my hands to be on camera for video demonstrations so I like to have a nice manicure. I went back for a fix but was afraid to get them removed and reapplied after she had said they were "too thin" and it could wreck my natural nails beyond repair. I assumed they would offer me a discount toward another set or a partial refund for the two that broke. Instead, the tech got very defensive and argued that I must have done something to cause this, acting like she was being personally insulted and insinuating I staged the broken nails to get a refund. She acted like I was harassing her as a scammer or something and insisted on giving me a full refund as if I was shaking her down. I said I would just be happy with a credit toward a future set or something (not unusual since they have punch cards for a discount) but she acted exasperated and insisted on giving me cash for my full visit (removal, full set, and tip). I gave her back the tip and removal money and said I would be back because I was trying to become a regular, loyal customer here. On my next visit, she had a speech ready for me with a bad attitude, as if I am trash looking for a free ride, that if my nails broke again I couldn't get my money back (which is funny bc she was the one who offered my money back, I never asked for it). I said, "No I wouldn't ask for a refund, if they did break off again I wouldn't ever come back here." That set her off! I guess she felt she needed to have the upper hand with her speech and kept repeating that I couldn't get a refund. I said "I understand and I agree... you have said it about 6 times, let's move forward". This made her upset again and she said "I want to let you know I have a camera here"...I laughed, "what's the camera going to do?" because a camera can't resolve a dispute over nail services. But then she said "I am uncomfortable, I don't feel safe" Really ma'am? I guess insinuating I was some unhinged animal that was going to be hurt or rob them? No one has ever said my presence was physically threatening before, it's silly. Textbook racist nonsense. Obviously I left after that because that is wild. Truly Karen behavior at this shop where if you have a problem they won't take accountability for faulty work, then play victim when you stand up for yourself as an honest customer. All in all, I'm so glad I moved on to another shop! I found one in Rockridge with a better environment, better customer service and a more modern and impressive color range. read more

I walked past this salon and decided to pop-in for a last minute manicure and now they are forever my go-to salon for manis and pedis. I love the staff and their ability to make you feel welcomed and pampered. They have a wonderful variety of colours and are extremely professional and excel at the services they provide. I highly recommend Susan, that being said, all the staff are amazing and you'll be treated with warm hospitality and friendly energy. Custom service need to improve . We did a walk in they asked if we can come back in a hour hour and 30 max. She asked if we can make a appointment and were we actually coming back because people make appointments and don't show up . Not only did she take my name she took my number down . Due to a accident coming down pedimont and the street closed off we were 10 mins late . I tried calling no answer . After finding parking because parking is limited in the area we got inside at 2:13pm . We were informed that another appointment was booked at 245 for nails . We told them made an appointment for a reason we spent a hour waiting around in the area for no reason . They didn't try to contact us to even see if we were close or not . Did not try to accommodate buy at least starting one of our nails and the other person pedicure till the next appointment arrived . I was looking forward to the serivd from previous reviews of there work but due to the customer service I don't know if I will try in the future . read more
