This review is loooong overdue, but I absolutely adore Blossom Nails! This is miyeee spot. My place, my nail shop, my steez! Sunny, Nina, and their entire team are so friendly, professional, and efficient. This is one of those nail salons where you can go to anyone and your nails will always come out amazing no matter what. The shop is always clean and bright. I'm a regular here, so the staff knows me by name and always greets with me bright smiles when I come in. They are super accommodating when it comes to making appointments and adjusting to my schedule. I often come during my lunchtime during the early weekdays, and they always have me in and out in an hour or less without compromising the quality. Prices are also very reasonable and they give discounts when you pay in cash. I'm a simple gal when it comes to my nailies; gel on my naturals and regular paint on the toes. Nothing super fancy over here, but they always execute it so well. My gel nails usually last up to a month, and my pedicures can go 6~8 weeks if I can't make it in before then. They have a great variety of colors and they also do dip nails here too. I live for both the hand and foot massages, but the foot massages during the pedi's are so wonderful. Hands down to Tina because she really throws down on the pedicures here and I'm always excited to get her when she's available. The shop gets busy during the end of the week and in the afternoons and evenings, but they always make time for me (appointments are highly recommended!). All in all, I'm so impressed with Blossom. This is definitely one of the best nail salons that I've been to. Their flawless execution and excellent customer service will always keep my coming back. read more

Went to get a pedicure and full set. As you can see, the final product was not cut even. These nails are the worse nails I've ever had. The lady rushed my full set. I paid $60 for this. Not only that, the lady that did my pedicure burned me so bad with a hot towel. Three people were told of the burn and all.they did was spray me with alcohol and said sorry. No compensation or anything. If you want to get burned and a rushed job: Go here! read more

I just left the salon. The only reason I went was because I had been given a gift card. Before we began, I said at least four times, I am trying to grow out my nails that is why I'm doing a gel manicure. These are my nails after leaving. I can tell you that my nails were much longer than this when I arrived. When she got out the clippers, I said, "no" and she said, "just a bit" and I said AGAIN, "I'm growing out my nails" and this is the end result. I really wanted to like Blossom Nail Salon, but after giving them two chances, I unfortunately won't be returning. I came in today for my birthday and was ready to treat myself to a really nice pedicure. Blossom offers different pedicure options, but no one explained them or showed me the menu. Instead, they simply started a basic pedicure and assumed that's what I wanted. That felt like a missed opportunity, not only for the business to upsell, but also to provide the experience I was actually looking for. I was fully prepared to splurge for something nicer if someone had taken a moment to walk me through the options. Unfortunately, the pedicure itself was also not a good experience. The technician burned me with the electric drill tool and then again while placing the gel light on my feet. She also filed my cuticles so aggressively that it hurt. Pedicures are supposed to be relaxing and soothing, not painful. The massage was average, which is disappointing because that is the only reason I get pedicures. The polish application also wasn't great. The last time I visited, the polish had waves and spots where paint was missing. This time it was a little better, but still not the quality I expect when paying for a professional pedicure. Customer service overall felt very transactional and not attentive. Instead of verbally asking for my foot, the technician simply tapped my leg. The woman next to me tried asking if her nails would still look good if she cut them shorter while keeping the almond shape, and the technician didn't respond at all, possibly due to a language barrier, but communication is still an important part of providing a quality service. There are countless nail salons in the Bay Area, and what really sets one apart is making customers feel seen and valued. Unfortunately, that's what was missing here. There are some positives: the salon is clean, the prices are reasonable, the color selection is amazing, and the location is very convenient with plenty of parking and things to do nearby. Also, Kayla, who did my nails, did a great job. She was definitely the highlight of my visit. However, I need to be able to get both my hands and feet done well in the same place. After two disappointing pedicure experiences, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. If you're going for a Gel-X fill, Kayla is great. But if you're looking for a relaxing, high-quality pedicure experience, this may not be the place. read more

I got a pedicure and she was a little too aggressive. Like it hurt when she started trimming the skin around my toes. It's supposed to be a relaxing experience. It was not. Plus my feet were still rough to the touch when she were done. I asked about it and was told it takes several visits to get smooth feet. I've never heard of such a thing. I didn't argue. Paid and left. I'll take my monies else where. read more

Edit: Since I can't respond to the owners message. This was gel nail polish what do u mean it's stuck in my nail. Gel x nails then painted green. I don't get it. Also yes this is your mistake because why when the tech noticed the green they didn't mention it at all, I just noticed when I got home. That was unethical work. Worst experience here this week. Got my nails filled from a green to a light pink paid $80. I'm more than happy to tip but when being forced to and service is rushed -overall bad, I don't appreciate it. Total paid 90$. When I got home I noticed green still under my nail so I went back next day to get it fixed instead of fixing their mistake they said I would have to pay more for them to fix their error. I called for a Gel-X Appointment and they quickly took my name and phone number. It was $55 for Gel-X and $10 for a design. Nina was incredibly gentle, meticulous, and asked me how I liked the shape throughout the entire process. The place is really clean and the staff asks if you would like water, sparkling water or tea throughout your visit. The entire team is so accommodating and extremely sweet. They even have a loyalty card program where if you go 10 times, you get $20 off. They are honest people and do great work! read more

I got my nails done by Son Li, and he was amazing--precise, detailed, and really listened to what I wanted. I adore Blossom nail salon -- they are so affordable and kind! I got a nice dip powder French ombré manicure. I do wish they'd given me a proper manicure -- nail soak, THOROUGH cuticle clean up, etc. I had to ask for cuticle clean up and it was still super minimal. There's also still lumps of extra hardened dip powder on the undersides of most nails, which sucks; I'll have to clean those up myself. The space is spacious, super clean, and I love the dessert making videos they play tbh. It's not the best manicure I've gotten, but for the price, you get a beautiful set of nails. read more

Appointment was at 1 o clock for a fill and pedicure. Didn't even get in a chair until 1:15. Pedicure took 55 minutes?? and instead of having someone start to work on my hands at any point during the appointment, they took 4 different walk in clients. Finally finished my pedicure and said the technician was setting up her table for my fill, 5 minutes later says the technician is actually just gonna service me at the pedicure chair so stay there and she'd be right over. Nobody speaks to me again for another 15 minutes at which point they say I need to move to a different table. I do and again nobody even looks at me for another 5 minutes and then when they do, say she'll be another 5 minutes. At this point it is almost an hour and 40 minutes past my appointment time and after speaking to a manager who didn't even apologize and made it clear they were going to be charging me almost $200 after making me wait almost 2 hours and had no intention of offering any discount, I finally just told them never mind and left. So I am on my way to Walgreens for some press on's for the event I have to attend tonight and would recommend y'all skip the hassle of this shop. One thing I learned from having to sit there for almost 2 hours not even being serviced is that they habitually overbook and then get upset with you for not understanding "how busy they are". I really hate to leave a poor review. But. I got a gelX ("builder") manicure by the me staff member and during the service itself, which took way longer than it should have, he kept answering the phone and stepping up to help people pay, walking away from my service. Once or twice is understandable, but it was continuous. Also, I have had amazing builder gel manicures at a salon in San Francisco and they have never been done the way he did mine. He just kept gobbling on thick layers of the gel base and shaping them and I swear he added like six layers. It felt like a hack job but I do t get manicures often so I figured maybe it was just a different technique than I've had previously. I walked out of the salon, looking at my nails and definitely feeling like it was not a quality manicure. It didn't look as good as it should have and I could see that there were gaps in the layers of polish. It's hard to describe, but I knew it was not a great manicure and I felt disappointed by spending $70 with tip because I don't usually treat myself to my nails. A day or two later an entire nail of polish popped off. I didn't even feel it or see it happen. I just looked down and saw that an entire nails worth of polish was gone. It was a light pinky skin tone color so I just shrugged and figured well that sucks. And it validated my feeling that it wasn't a great manicure. I've never had that happen before. It was almost like a press on nail from back in the day had popped off. A couple of days later, the same thing happened to another nail. I am talking within a week I had a few fingers with no polish. And wouldn't you know it by the end of two weeks they were all gone. I work 60+ hours a week and do not have time to go back for corrections. It makes me very reluctant to go to that salon again, and certainly not for the gelX service. I would not book with the man. read more

The 2/3 times I've been here, I have left with bleeding cuticles on multiple fingers. This visit I have blood/scabs on 7/10 of my fingers. While I was getting my fill the lady doing the service abruptly leaves, someone else continues my nails and then the original lady returns to do my design and both ladies expected a tip. The process to pay is a hassle, they claim to not take cards but have visa logos posted, and will take card from some customers but demand venmo or cash from others. The salon overall is clean and looks nice, but the service is poor and painful. read more

I visited Blossom Nails Lounge after a poor experience with builder gel at another salon and I'm so thankful I found this shop. Son Le has been particularly great. I went to him with brittle, cracked nails and he helped me strengthen my nails and maintain my nail length. I've become a regular customer and each session with Son Le has been wonderful. He's gentle, careful, and friendly. He's also been helpful when I've been stuck between different nail polish options, haha. The space is clean, spacious, and open and they have a great selection of nail polishes (jelly, cat eye, etc.). I've been here before, and I had a good experience, so much so that I brought my daughter and mom one day on a really sweet day out for us. I don't often get gel nails, but I have more than a handful of times. whereas, my mom, often goes. The day I brought them, it was a total factory. my pedicure was great. my gel manicure... it was the worst any of us had ever had. in fact, I'm still growing my nails out from late November. The attendant grinded our nails so thin, that once the gel cracked, 1week later, we realized how fragile and ridiculously thin our nails were. I've been cutting them as short as possible since then, because they are so flimsy and keep ripping. My mom and daughter the same. I have string nails typicalay, and this felt like I had just used chemical stripper without gloves. It's the end of January, and im still having this problem. not only that, but the cost for my mom's manicure was much more than mine, and I think they overcharged her. listen, I know it's hard work, but don't make us pay for the service and also pay for your untrained staf. I tipped well at the time, but I hadn't realized the damage until a week later. such a bummer. read more

I liked this place a lot when they first opened but quality seems to have gone down. I got a gel manicure on Sunday and this is what it looks like two days later. If I wanted a short term polish job I would have done regular polish. Also requested a Polish that matched my gel mani and the tech painted it in a color that didn't come close to matching. I called and the man on the phone was so RUDE!!! I called to make an appointment and then realized an hour later that I couldn't make it during that time due to a conflict that I forgot about. I immediately called back when I realized this to reschedule my appointment for the following day. I explained my situation and apologized. He said he would give me one chance for another appointment and then after that I can only do a walk-in appointment. What kind of customer service is this?!?! Terrible!! The nail techs and the services are great but this guy was so unprofessional and rude!! I definitely will not be going back and I will tell all my friends, family and co-workers to spread the word not to go to Blossom Nails Lounge. There are many nail salons in Oakland, but my daughter and her friends recommended this place to me. I've only been once before but I'm never going back. I've been to Blossom Nails twice now and the prices are great, it's a clean and bright atmosphere, and they have tons of colors and add ons. They offer you sparkling water and are really good communicators, letting you know if it's going to be a minute and checking in with you often so you know they haven't forgotten you. Also - Nina. Nina does good work but they have really terrible customer service. Potentially racist. I booked an appointment at 5pm with Nina. They double booked and then tried to gaslight me as if I didn't book an appointment with her but just anyone. I asked why would I ask for her if that's not who I had made the appointment with? lol. (She had someone in her chair and they are closing in about 45 minutes) When I told them I had in fact booked an appointment with Nina, they then changed the narrative to not being able to give me a fill, but that I needed a new set because my nails are old (Nina has only done a fill once on my nails) -- I then asked how she would know if my nails were old if she hadn't even seen them upon my arrival. She then said out loud in front of other guests that I would get fungus?? What?? For asking for a fill on a clean set? (My second fill). I've been getting my nails done for over a decade and before a nail tech makes a suggestion they always offer to look at your nails, also if your nails are healthy you can get more than 1 fill lol. This is my third situation with them like this -- but I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. A few weeks ago I made an appointment for a pedicure and I waited an extra 35 minutes before I was helped. The man, Sony? Sunny? had actually asked me to leave and come back another day. Then, there was a slight error made on my manicure and he shouted at me when I had just asked for a simple correction. They also push for Venmo/Zelle and force you to give a cash tip. They give you a hard time for using anything else, probably for tax evasion. I recommend any other place thats more friendly towards women of color -- a lot of places would be happy to have you as a customer. I believe there are some great nail salons on College Ave, with strong clientele. Think twice before you give your money away! read more
