Even though I've known my friend, Maria, her office manager, for some time now, I gained a friendship with Christa. Dr. Christa Cavallaro and Maria, at the time, were very professional but were still able to sustain warmth, as some laughter was shared in the office. Now let's rush away from this past and pleasant memory and move forward to today. The original pair of glasses that were prescribed to me at that time are now no where to be found. I lost or misplaced them, and I looked everywhere but I still couldn't and still cannot find them. I made an appointment with Dr. Christa Cavallaro and went to C-Clearly earlier this evening. Again, warmth, laughter, and profound professionalism. Plus, I have come to know that they are prompt with all appointments made. Maria was great and assisted me before my exam and Christa proceeded with the utmost care to examine my eyes. It turns out that losing or misplacing my initial pair of glasses was a good thing because my eyesight needed a stronger pair for reading. Afterwards we all talked for a bit and then Dr. Cavallaro needed to take her next patient. Maria also helped me decide on a new stylish pair within the budget I requested. Even though I haven't met their new assistant Claudia, I did hear she is very helpful and is very familiar with Dr. Cavallaro's practice. Again, I cannot stress enough the meticulous care and concern and dedication that these women have with all their patients. The front desk assistant Maria is the kindest person that you will meet who greets you with a smile and goes above and beyond to check what's covered by the insurance and out of pocket cost. I write this review with a heavy heart, as a decade-long, over-the-moon enthusiastic patient of Dr. Cavallero (and, by proxy, the incredible Maria up in front). I have just moved back home to CA after 11 wonderful years in Sunnyside, and I cannot possibly overstate how much I will miss C Clearly and the amazing relationship I've formed with both Dr. C and Miss Maria over the years. I met them both when they were at Pearle Vision up on Queens Blvd back in 2012 or so, and was SO DELIGHTED when Dr. Cavallero opened up her very own practice over on Skillman! Gone were the days of corporate bureaucracy and policy--she had her own office where she could put her own loving, personal touch on every step of the process! From the moment I call to make an appointment, Maria immediately, warmly recognizes me and dives right into a quick catch-up on "How have you been, how's the baby, can't wait to see you!" and, honestly, I usually end up staying to chat with her for a good 20m after my appointment every time I'm in because she is so lovely. She knows everything there is to know about insurance coverage, glasses adjustments, what new frames are cool, everything about the neighborhood and local businesses, all the goofy, weird gossip going on in my life.... Miss Maria is a gem and worth the visit to C Clearly alone. And Dr. Cavallero! I have truly never had a medical professional speak to me the way she does (and I mean that in the best way possible!). She is kind and funny and talks to me like we're old friends. Tremendously smart and professional, but without the stoic, clinical nature of most doctors I've seen in my life, I actually look forward to my appointments with her because it feels like visiting with a dear old homie who happens to know the answers to literally all of my questions. She has caught things that have been overlooked by multiple ophthalmologists, sent me personal text messages in the evenings with recommendations from specialists she hit up on my behalf, and just been a wonderfully warm, familiar, cozy staple in my time living in Sunnyside. She is possibly the best doctor I've ever seen in any discipline, and I have found myself so grateful for her thorough, sincere concern for my health over the years and into the future, even helping me figure out next-steps for care in my new life outside of NYC. I love these ladies so much I've even baked them Christmas cookies! It sounds goofy to say that one of the things I'll miss most about my time in New York is my optometrist, but truly.... Dr. C and Maria are so special that I doubt I'll ever have a doctor or optometrist or any other medical relationship I'll value as much as I have come to love the two of them. I've been going to Dr. C and Maria since they were at Pearle Vision. When I went to Pearle Vision, I revisited b/c of Dr. C and Maria. When they told me they were striking out on their own, I took my business to them. I can not overstate my gratitude to Dr. C's genuine care for her clients. I lost my job because of COVID, lost my health care, and Dr. C took care me of over a video call. I know when I get my health insurance back, the first place I'll go back to for an eye check up is 100% Dr. C Must be 10 years now at least I've been going to her. read more

Broke my frames DURING COVID19 when I asked them to be looked at for an arm adjustment and then told me all about how there were fractures in them even though they mentioned nothing about this before starting to adjust them. I've checked these frames thoroughly. There were no fractures in them at all. No warning about what could happen or pointing out my frames might crack at some point. Just broke my frames and sent me on my way with an "oops". Thanks! Stay away from these people. I'm out $350 on a pair of frames that were not even two years old yet. Wonderful service really. A+ Every optician I've ever been too warns you if something they're doing may screw up your glasses. If these people warned me at all I wouldn't have let them attempt anything at all and gone to some one worthwhile. My fiancee was with me during this whole thing if anyone is doubting my story here. They even tried to say "oh well yeah dropping them puts little fractures in them and you did just say you dropped them" obviously because they're trying to cover for themselves. I never dropped these nor did I tell them I dropped them. I simply had a bent arm that needed adjusting to fit my face normally again. It is crazy that without any warning someone can just destroy your property and that there are no repercussions whatsoever for these awful awful people. Be careful with this store. Now during coronavirus I have to try and go to multiple locations to possibly get these fixed or get a new prescription at a doctors office so I can buy another pair of frames. All because this person rushed through a minor adjustment. read more

Glad to have discovered an eye doctor close to our home! From setting the appointment over the phone, receiving an appointment reminder call the day before, to going through the examination, the whole process was smooth, thorough, and straight to the point. Dr. Cavallaro explained clearly why my left eye would water so much. She was so patient in examining the changes with my prescription and provided helpful recommendations. Maria, the medical receptionist, explained in detail what our insurance covered and provided all the information we needed before we could even ask!
