One of the doctors here, Dr. Nobe, was very highly rated and also took my insurance so I made an appointment. In terms of the actual office, it was a little hard to find. It's off of busy Queens Blvd near the mall so there is basically no parking. The address takes you to the storefronts but the entrance to the medical offices are around the corner. Once you actually get it just follow the signs. The office itself was fine, a little bit old with wear and tear. All the workers I dealt with from the receptionists to the nurses and the doctor were great. Very friendly and communicative, they explained everything that was happening, asked me lots of questions as well as answered all of my questions. I also appreciated that in these pandemic times everyone was still wearing a mask and they wiped down every piece of equipment including the chairs with disinfectant wipes. Dr. Nobe was awesome, I've never had an eye doctor that actually showed me the results of the exams and talk about them. Since I take medication that could be toxic to my eyesight, I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything. I also appreciated the eye exam and him giving me my prescription which I could use anywhere! Prescription sunglasses here we come! It was a great visit and I intend to make this my official ophthalmology office.

Instead of going to my regular doctor, I decided to see an eye specialist and made an appointment at Purevision Optical. When I arrived, the overall atmosphere felt a bit off. There was a young man who was friendly and welcoming, but the general experience left me feeling out of place. One staff member made a genuine effort to make me feel comfortable, which I appreciated, but the overall environment felt somewhat unwelcoming. The eye specialist ran a series of tests using various equipment, some of which seemed unrelated to my concerns. After the examination, she informed me that I would need to contact my primary care doctor to get a prescription for antibiotics. She provided an eye ointment and advised me to follow up with my PCP. I went in expecting the eye doctor to be able to prescribe medication, but that was not the case. Had I known I would still need to visit my primary care physician, I would have gone there directly to save both time and money. While I was there, I purchased a warm eye patch intended to help speed up recovery. Unfortunately, when I heated it, it stuck to itself and then burst, scattering small beads all over my kitchen floor. Cleaning everything up took several days. I emailed Purevision Optical to request a refund, but they asked me to call and discuss the matter. Given my overall experience, I chose not to pursue it further and decided to let the $12 go. Overall, I am not certain what to make of the experience, but unless I have no other option, I do not plan to return. My advice would be to explore other options before making an appointment there.

Dr. Bella did tests I haven't had in years and totally changed my prescription. Now I can see again both up close and distance. If your eye specialist tells you that you can't see properly for to presbyopia, before accepting that, come here. I am literally stunned by the difference. Dr. Bella explained everything to me and sent me home with a pair of contacts to try for a week. She's also a total sweetheart. I'm now a loyal customer of Pure Vision and am going back in two weeks to get my frames filled. Also, they take VSP and I'm my case, Aetna as I needed a glaucoma test.

It's been SIX YEARS since I last got my eyes checked and since I got a new prescription. I was so excited to find this spot and get my lenses replaced on my first ever pair of real glasses, which I saved up for for my birthday last year. I used to only wear glasses from eyebuydirect. I trusted Visual Ophthalmology in Ridgewood to send my glasses to the lab and return them after the allotted 3-week period with the new prescription in the lenses. INSTEAD of receiving what I paid for and a service I trusted them to carry out, they gaslit me into believing my glasses were in the lab and that I was simply waiting for an update. I had been calling them for weeks asking for an update. They said they would call me back. I spoke to multiple women who work in the front area (all of them were rude and dismissive), and they all told me they would help me and give me an update, only to completely ignore me afterward. No call back, nothing. Then one of the women in the front named Felica gave me the personal number of another employee to ask about an update for my glasses rather than calling the "lab" herself and finding out what was happening. After getting frustrated going 4 weeks without glasses, a thing I actually need, and receiving a person's personal phone number just to fight for an update, I decided to request that my glasses be returned to me and that I would go to another office and attempt to get the lenses replaced there. After informing FeliCa that I wanted to do just that, she put me on hold for 10 minutes and then informed me that my glasses were right there in the office the entire time. So for 4 WEEKS, I went without glasses because they never, not once, sent them to the lab. Not even 2 weeks ago, when I called for an update, did any of the 4 different women I spoke to decide to send my glasses to the lab or inform me that someone had never sent them. I just went in today to pick them up, and they have new scratches that were not there before. Everyone in the office was giving me an attitude when I asked why they were never sent to the lab in the first place. They told me that it was the mistake of someone else who worked there previously and was fired. How is that the case when I spoke to multiple people over the course of 3 weeks and everyone was disorganized and unable to give me a clear answer? Obviously, the entire office is incapable of doing their very, very simple job. On top of that, they returned my co-pay to me in cash and gave it to me with so much attitude, and not like it was the money I paid to get my lenses replaced. I was spoken to with so much hostility when I was being respectful and patient the entire time, giving them so much space to just give me an update on my glasses. The girl in the front with the dark hair who speaks Spanish is also wearing Meta glasses, which should not be allowed. There are children and people who do not consent to being recorded walking in there for medical services, and her potentially filming them is a huge violation of everyone's privacy. I'm also positive my insurance was billed for my glasses, which I never received, and I will be filing a formal complaint with my insurance and with the appropriate New York State regulatory agency for their horrible handling of this situation. I will also be reporting the billing issue if I find that my insurance was billed for services or products that were never actually provided. I have never even received my prescription so I can replace my glasses at my own convenience. They literally did not care about my experience, my glasses, my prescription, or my ability to receive the services I paid for whatsoever. I read all the reviews and thought this was a great office to get my vision checked after 6 years of avoiding it, but now I would never ever recommend Vision Ophthalmology to anyone. I have told many people about my experience here and everyone is amazed at their incompetence.

So these glasses were supposed to remove the strain on my eyes and I was supposed to see better too, especially at the prices we were told. My husband picked up our glasses and I could not see. It was looking at clear glass on the bottom half. Dr. Leonard Fuzylov said he thought it was just for working on the computer. He took them back and said they were fixed. I was able to see better and gave them a try. 6 months later and I cant wear them. It is plain glass on the bottom. I get headaches and blurred vision.. Same with my husband's glasses. That is not bifocals, plus we were charged over $2k for 4 pairs of glasses. I am now using old glasses from over a year ago and we wont be back.
