There was a lot of weeds and overgrown trees, which we wanted to replace with concrete. I had various jobs for him over a two week period. Manuel was great from start to finish. He came quickly for our first estimate for landscaping, and the value was great. His pricing was fair. Him and his crew worked quickly to get the landscaping work done in our backyard - clearing weeds, removing a large guava tree and smaller fruit tree, trimming trees, and cutting ice plants. I was so happy with their work I asked if they could clean our palm trees. The price again was great and they did it in a few hours. After that, I worked with him to get concrete laid in our backyard. The price for concrete was very reasonable. Him and his crew worked efficiently but with quality to get the concrete in our backyard. The whole concrete process took 3 days and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I also had some side projects they completed during their time here - removing a metal shed and replacing a patio cover. Manuel was always great communicating with me and his work was excellent. I would highly recommend using Manual for your landscaping projects and will be using him in the future!

First, the owner sent two workers who did not speak English to my property, which they had never seen before. I was left to explain the work that needed to be done. After they left, I never heard anything from the company again, and that was five weeks ago.

This job was completely different and involved a remodel where we wanted custom shelves and new windows added in a side room. We worked with Michael again as well as Haley to design the space. We loved the results, and were satisfied with all of the team who were pleasant, professional and did fantastic work. Michael and Haley kept us updated on current events and kept the line of communication open. It was great having them drive the work. In addition, company representatives regularly contacted us to ensure we were happy and if we had any concerns. We will be back!

Full transparency, I hired Need for Build (NFB) twice, so fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…read more- shame on me. They are a very expensive company, mainly because they sub-contract for larger projects but use day laborers to do a lot of the heavy lifting and groundwork. There isn't any design process. at least none that I have experienced. I got the sense that they were making up the 'how to' portion of the job as they went along. They use, like most companies, salespeople that promise you the moon and they really stress that the thing that separates them from other builders is that they will always be there if something goes wrong with their work - this is the real problem, it's not true at all. When I have contacted them for follow-up, not only are they rude - they're down right mean. Like they are SO annoyed and dismissive once the job has been paid for, that I've ended up hiring other contractors to fix what NFB did wrong - several times. I have called them back out for an exterior security door they installed. The door began to rust within one month (see photos). They came out and spray painted it twice, and when it finally got so rusted (this is all in the course of less than 3 years) that I replaced the door using another contractor, I found out that the original door was just rigged, basically screwed, about 50 times into a wood board that was just stuck inside the vinyl fence post. Since this setup would not allow for a new door installation, I had to pay a separate contractor to remove the old posts and install a new door properly. During this same project, I had exterior drains installed and new concrete where there used to be dirt. A section of this concrete is now sinking and is now an entire inch off grade because a proper foundation was never laid down before the concrete was poured. The last portion of this project was replacing an existing privacy fence that was put up by the previous owners, it was wood and was basically falling off of the supports. I had brick pillars put in with vinyl sections in-between. Caps were never placed on the pillars, as promised by the salesman, we'll call him D1, but this was going to be the least of the problems with the fence as time went on. With no mention of it during the sales pitch as well as the build process, NFB installed an illegal fence that was way higher than the old rotted fence - they're excuse was "it was the only way we could do it". The written contract (see photo) states the height would not exceed 5 feet and the pillars would not exceed 4 feet - well, I got a 6 foot fence all around, not staggered like the original fence, as my street is on a slope. D1 promised, if anybody complains we will be back out to correct it. So, now it looked like a drug kingpin lived here and my house was basically completely obscured and was totally not appropriate for the neighborhood. Well, a few years later, somebody submitted a complaint to the city and I notified NFB. The girls who man the phones (who are always actually very polite and professional) had one of the current project managers call me. Let's call him R1. R1 was confused as to why D1 ever had the fence installed that way and although he never consulted with me about how they were going to fix it, they waited until two days before the city compliance deadline - I had given NFB notice of the city investigation several months prior. Two days before the deadline (one day after they were scheduled to be here - I cleared my whole schedule to meet them on the date they scheduled two weeks prior - nobody showed up and there was no explanation). So, a worker, who was very nice, just like when the fence first went up, just started doing whatever to get the height down to 3 feet. I chatted with him briefly and we had agreed on how it was supposed to go - this was a no-no, because R1 called me yelling at me an hour later saying I was not to speak with the worker, and that I was only to talk with him - problem was R1 was very unresponsive and never did comment on the entire brick pillar that was discovered to be completely loose and detached from its footing once the lowering project began. Long story short, the fence was lowered but now looks completely ridiculous as every single section of the fencing is oriented differently, the support rails are not even - it's ridiculous. I reached out to R1 for follow-up, what a surprise - no response. I am now getting quotes from other contractors to fix this, the quotes are several thousands of dollars. It's strange, when I have had to reach back out to them, since I first hired them in 2021, I call the project manager that I worked with. Both D1 and the second project manager, D2 said the same thing, they no longer work for NFB and D1, in particular, claimed he left because the company was overcharging customers and 'ripping them off'. It's probably good that I still have all of the texts from both D1 and D2.
