    Front porch after

George and crew came back to my house, a couple of years after round one. This time they did a large patio, stoop, my front porch, and replaced my driveway. I'm impressed by the longevity of this crew. It seems they've all been working together 20-30 years. That says a lot about a company. Thanks to the team for a terrific job on my finishing touches!

Top is before, bottom is after!

Amazing service and great work. Really happy with results and professionalism throughout the project. George kept in constant contact which I really appreciate.

Highly recommend Primo Concrete for your next hardscape project. They did a great job on our retaining wall and paver driveway/sidewalks. George is the owner, very professional, and a wonderful person. He came by every day during the project to see how things were progressing and to talk to us in case we had any questions. Vincent was the foreman who did our demolition, and he made ensure everything went smoothly with no damages to our property or the utilities. Juan was the foreman who built the retaining wall and installed our pavers. Juan did amazing job and takes pride in his work. Please support Primo Concrete, a locally owned company, for your next hardscape project!

This is the third project that I have completed with George and is the most impressive. The scope of work included removal of all shrubs, construct a retaining wall between the two properties, pour new slabs on each side of these two properties, raise the entire front yard with a cmu block wall with a stucco finish, frame and pour the new steps, backfill and prep for the new turf tying into an existing concrete court yard that George had completed 15 years ago. This was a design build as you go as George is open to you working step by step with his crew to ensure you get the end product desired. Extremely happy with the outcome.

    Pad for back yard spa

Primo put in a pad for our new spa. They responded quickly, were easy to work with, and had an affordable price. When we had to make last minute changes, George himself jumped on it and took care of it effortlessly. I recommend Primo.

My backyard was flooding after any heavy rain and decided to call George. He answered my message immediately. I expressed my concern and he assured me that with his 30 plus years experience in the business he felt confident that we would not ever worry about flooding. He gave me a fair price and started working the following week. Through the process George and his whole team were very professional. They even went above and beyond to address any possible problematic areas to give me further peace of mind. Now that the winter storms have passed I can happily report that we had ZERO floods. They did such a terrific job I can now sleep through any intense storm knowing my home is safe. Highly recommend Primo Concrete.

Sometimes there just aren't enough stars to rate a company. We interviewed six different contractors and decided to go with George and Primo. We're so glad we did. They were in the "range" of the other estimates, not the cheapest and nowhere near the one insane price we got from one other company. Now seeing the final result, the value for the price is off the charts. His workers are artisans, they took their time, brick-by-brick, and made sure everything was perfect. They communicated with us throughout the project to be sure we would be happy. As you can see from the photos, they took an ugly, 80 year old cracked concrete mess and turned it into a beautiful work of art.

    Pouring day

George and his team were exactly what I needed for my project. I had massive drainage issues any time it rained, and I wanted to increase my driveway space to add a basketball hoop. His experience and eye for detail was able to correct my drainage issues and pour about 2.5 trucks worth of concrete. Big shout out to Dave, who was my daily guy running the project. Any time I had a question he took the time to fully answer it and make sure I understood. And he saw my vision and put it into motion. I got a few quotes for the job and his was very comparable to the others. I chose George's experience and used these reviews to help me make my decision. Quality work, and I've already recommended him to friends. You won't be disappointed.

    Side

In San Diego for concrete done right on a budget, Primo Concrete Co. has got you covered. While Capable of handling any of your concrete needs they specialize in pool decks. A lot of people don't understand that there is an artistry to laying concrete properly. Otherwise, you end up with a flat foundation, with no way for the water to flow, resulting in flooding. I had a particularly difficult job and am extremely happy, not only with the finished product but also with the customer service that I received. The home in question was built back in 1956, and therefore, we are constantly updating and remodeling. One thing I've learned is projects never go as planned, and there are always things that need to be addressed. Even after you think the job is finished. It is in the resolution of these unforeseeable end project touch ups that really show a contractors integrity & value. Another thing that I value greatly, is that The owner of the company treats, not only his customers right but his employees too. As a picky 2nd generation Native of San Diego I highly recommend this company. Bee Blissful, MagiK Maggie Diamante Morganite

Hired Primo Concrete to expand my driveway concrete and add concrete slabs on my side yard. George is very professional, kind, and straight to the point kind of guy. He is great with his communications and always on time. He ensures all questions and concerns are answered. He teaches you about HOA requirements and dig alert to avoid any issues that may arise in the future. It is not just George, though. His whole entire team from demo, concrete pour, and clean-up crew are all friendly, professional, and on time. It is very rare to have all these aspects these days. Plus, they have this family vibe thing going on and very thankful to have a job. Everyone went above and beyond for me. There were giant trees and bushes, they removed with no questions asked. Fixed draining issue and ensured sprinklers are saved as I wanted them. All these without asking any more money than initially agreed on. I have asked for many MANY quotes and ideas from a lot of these 5 Star Yelp reviews places. None of them is even close to George. Trust me if you have any doubt. Just go with Primo. Other concrete folks are just sellers with brochures. George will treat you like a brother, and his entire crew will treat the land like its their property. I have nothing but the nicest thing to say about this team, and I plan to have more opportunities with them in the future.

    Stacked Block Wall
    John D.

My neighbor hired Primo Concrete to install a new stackable block wall, footings and deadman's posts to hold the weight upright! Excellent stacked block wall and very level! It was originally railroad ties and they were being rotted out below the ground! All the rain caused them to degrade faster and it caused a sag in the upper part of the work from another contractor who did a bad job. That part is being corrected by Primo Concrete starting Monday! We allowed them onto our land to be able to have access to the working area since we are accommodating neighbors not bad neighbors like a few around our neighborhood. I would hire them for any construction or concrete work on our property.

I need some concrete removed in my backyard. Do you do these kind of jobs?

Do you do retaining wall and concrete steps, also do you handle permits as well? If so, I'd like an estimate?

They did a fantastic job with mine. I didn’t think mine could be repaired, but Primo did.

Hi do you guys stain red brick?

    Sorry no.

I have an ugly old concrete slab that I would like resurfaced. Do you resurface concrete. What are cost effective options? Thanks

Steve, I'm sorry I do not do that type of work. George Koury / Primo Concrete

When pouring concrete pool deck is this done before or after pool remodel?

Hello Theresa, the concrete decking is done after all the demo is done & the new coping is installed & before the plaster. Thanks George Koury

Do you do any small concrete grinding? A tree root lifted up the front center of my garage floor and the auto garage door won't stay down. If I had to replace the floor I would but grinding would help temporarily.

I do not provide that service. George Koury

I'm wondering if there is anyone you work with that could build a granny flat for us?

    I'm sorry no. George Koury

We are interested in adding a cement pad for a carport and adding a driveway. Does your company draft and submit permits for the driveway?

I'm sorry I do not draw plans or get the permits. Sorry George

Do you offer landscape design/architecture services as well? Thank you.

Sorry I do not. George Koury

They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

While on site, Adam asked for "200-300$" outside of the scope of the signed contract for the same work that would have been done with or without the additional request. Through the phone exchanges and emails regarding these issues Adam was arrogant and dismissive, yet also took blame for the stairs and will not resolve the issue. Adam's team poured our concrete before a heavy rain, but failed to redirect a gutter (as it had originally been before construction) from pouring directly onto the concrete causing a water stain from the pooling water on the fresh concrete. Again, when confronted with this issue and asking for a resolution Adam denied blame and said "wait a year". A JOB WELL DONE We…read morehave a long concrete driveway that curves up a hill to our home. The driveway is 47 years old and was in need of repairs to the driveway and to replace a low curved concrete wall on one side of the driveway, which was badly damaged by time and a large truck. From the Yelp website, I selected 3 five-star contractors for bids to repair the driveway. I'm in my late eighties and handicapped, but in my younger days I worked in construction starting back in 1952 as an apprentice carpenter. I have worked on many projects where I built forms to pour concrete for homes, high rise buildings, and underground tunnels. I have also worked on cementing casing in oil wells as deep as two miles and I have personally poured and finished concrete at my own home. So needless to say, I know a lot about concrete and construction in general. Now that I'm too old and crippled up to work, I'm always apprehensive when I have to hire men to work for me. All too often you get people who lack the skill and experience to do a proper job and often, they don't care how the job turns out. Then they leave behind a mess for the homeowner to clean up. When Oswaldo Minez came to look the job over prior to submitting a bid, I was very impressed with his knowledge and attitude. He told me he was the son of a father and son business and that was my background as well until my father's early death at a young age. The bid from Minez Concrete was the lowest bid and I gave them the contract. A few days later they called to say they had an unscheduled delay in their next job and they could begin work at our home. Oswaldo said they would show up at 7 AM and to my surprise the crew arrived right on time and every day thereafter. Oswaldo's father, Ramon is in charge of the actual work and I could tell right from the start that Ramon is an old school craftsman. He has trained his crew to be competent workers. Too often companies in southern California show up with a boss, who doesn't know what he is doing, and untrained men hired to work by the day. Not the Minez Company, their men are professional workers, who know their craft. On several occasions I have hired people and had to stand there all day making sure the job was done right and sometimes pitching in myself to do the job. After watching the Minez crew for a short time, I knew we were in good hands and I went back into the house. Every time I came out to observe progress there was Ramon supervising his men while working beside them to give us a first-rate job. The repairs all turned out beautifully and several people have commented upon how nice the driveway looks. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the work to go so smoothly and quickly. It was such a surprise and relief to be treated so well with a beautiful result. Oswaldo kept us informed regarding progress and his suggestions and those of Ramon contributed greatly to the final outcome. If you want a first-class experience at a fair price then hire Minez Concrete. They know what they are doing and they do the job right for a fair price. In today's world, that is rare.
