Never going back. I knew they didn't allow steel cased 762x39 ammo so I bought Federal brass (pricey) ammo. while I was renting a lane the owner come around and told me that I couldn't shoot the Federal brass ammo I brought and he will only let me shoot ammo I buy from them. I tried to show them the ammo but he hit me with " im the owner and you cant shoot that" I was with my wife so i didnt want to make it into a big deal and I really wanted to try out my new rifle so I went ahead and bought his ammo which was the cheapest of brass ammo (Belum) but at a premium price. Oh, he even made me leave all the ammo I brought at the front desk. I wish I would of just walked out.... an employee later told me that he would of let me use the ammo I brought if the owner wasn't there. Everything else was fine but it made it really pricey. For 1 time shooting it was the same price as a year membership at Darnells. read more

Without a doubt the rudest employees I've ever dealt with. You'd think they worked at the DMV. The snarky comments the attitude and on top of it they will walk away into the back room in mid sentence and keep you waiting. When you ask why they just simply ignore you. I attended their two-day ccl class recently. The class was taught by instructors Aaron Ragusa, Mark Heimann and William Self. The instructors perfectly combined a balance of safety, knowledge and real-life experiences to make for a very fun and educational class! No matter their skill level, they worked hard to make each one of us feel more comfortable and confident with our firearm and substantially hone our skills. The indoor shooting range is top notch in my humble opinion. The whole facility is clean and very nice. The price to use the range is reasonable. We rented several different firearms so that my wife could try them before we decided what to buy for her. That was very helpful and convenient. The guys at the retail gun counter were less than helpful though. We wanted to purchase a hand gun for my wife but they couldn't get the computer to work. The guy said he was "locked out" of the computer and the manager was unavailable. REALLY? I guess actually selling guns is secondary or maybe not even important to them. We went to Danalls and made our purchase. They were more than happy to help us. read more

So when one of there worker did not explain there Policies 100% making a huge confusion when my wife confronted the owner and the manager she got greeted with disrespect when she was confused and hung up on as I got greeted with disrespect and hung up on when I explained my reason of leaving a bad review and now I don't even feel safe to pick up the gun because in the world that we live in people like to tamper stuff... What an outstanding example of customer service, professionalism and good business. The facility is clean and easy to navigate. The range is also clean and well ventilated. I visited with my elderly father who was daydreaming of an accessory for his gun. He told the attendant he wasn't buying, but the guy stayed with us as long as dad had questions. Staff is always helpful and honest...don't seem to BS ya' if they don't know the answer. May seem pricy to shoot, but considering the facility, I think it seems reasonable. If you are active duty and stationed near C.I. Shooting sports and not a illinois resident with a FOID card. Don't go there to buy a weapon one day they will tell you to bring in your military ID and orders to start a background check and then the next day tell you that they can't do anything for you unless you have a FOID card. Even though per ISP i can buy a weapon with my military ID, orders, and a clean background check. I can go into C.I. Rent and shoot a weapon but they will not let me touch/look at a weapon in the case if i don't posses a FOID card even though technically i can buy without. I also talked to several people in there and there was only one that knew what the law was for active non residents and that's because he was prior service. So long story short if you are active duty and stationed here and not your legal home of record then go somewhere else to buy a weapon. read more

I have to give this facility five stars, they go out of their way to help you. I do not live around the Bloomington/Normal area, but make a day trip out of going there. Knowledgeable employees. Reasonable prices. What makes this place shine is their range - very clean and the ground tires at the back stop seem to cut down on the noise level. Also nice is that they have a wash up sink with D-Lead soap to clean up after you shoot. read more

Very nice facility esp the range, they only carry quality firearms. However gun prices are at or darn close to msrp. 10-20% higher than others in central IL. Expect trade offers to be around 50-60% of real street value. Gotta pay for the bling building. IMO this is a yuppy gun shop that is not for me. It is a nice place though. read more

Had to wait for anyone even to acknowledge my wife and I even though we were standing at the counter where guns are sold. Finally had a very knowledgeable and helpful guy come over to help and he apologized for the wait. Bought $700 of merchandize. Woman who checked us out was very efficient and pleasant. Problem arose when I went back to pick up the gun. Had to wait in a line, no problem. A lady finally asked if I was just there to pick up. She was very pleasant as she got the paperwork and found the gun. However, had to wait again for another guy to check over the paperwork. Very rude individual. One would think that a purchase of $700 would have at least deserved a thank you, but not with him. No smile, no nothing. Just handed me my FOID card and the gun and said, "that's it". I headed over to sign up for a CC class, but decided I'd look for somewhere else and just left. Too bad, one employee can ruin an otherwise good experience. read more
