Thea, the owner / service manager, came out to inspect our AC system and immediately noticed something dangerous: the previous installer had set up the outdoor disconnect without a fuse, which is a major safety issue. Because of that, the wiring had burned and nearly made its way into the house. T patiently explained everything to me--what went wrong, why it was dangerous, and what the proper setup should be. He recommended replacing the disconnect with a fused version, and clearly laid out the potential risks and what to expect. When we turned the system back on, we were holding our breath... and to our relief, the 10-year-old compressor kicked on just fine. T could have easily told me I needed a whole new unit, but instead, he was honest, transparent, and incredibly knowledgeable. I even looked up everything he explained afterward--and it all checked out.
