I had 7 windows installed and a sliding glass door and although they have come back out repeatedly and even sent the manufacturer out to my home, these windows are a complete rip off!!! They tell me there is nothing wrong! It sounds like my windows are open all the time - they do not block outside noise at all. Worse than that is I have had to buy weather stripping to seal my door and windows because the cold air blows right through! In the summertime the bugs were all coming in. There were numerous issues with the new windows I had put in. Pictures were sent to the company rep showing everything. They had to come 3-4 times in a 7-week period. Edging didn't match up, there was wood damage to the frame of the interior windows, installer did not put in the insulation between the windows and the frame. Still snowing and my heat was on all day during this time frame, that was a costly bill. They sent a supervisor to check the edging but he filled it with dark brown/black caulk that did not match. I complained, again. Then they sent the same guy that installed them to take apart the frames, replace them and put in the insulation & paint the wood. He was nice & explained he was told there were to be more people to help him originally, he was new. After at least 4 different trips I thought everything was fixed. I did sign the paper accepting it. Then my loan had to be refinanced because of the delay on their side. I was told it would be discounted, no discount or break on all the issues/ damage except a 240.00 check from the loan company. I thought I got some great windows that would hold in heat and keep the house cool in comparison to the original 1970 ones. They keep the house cool in the winter and that is all, I can still feel cold air coming in. No seal at all to the frame where the window slides and the windows are cold to the touch and get warm in the summer. Now for the real issue. On Friday April 12th I called the company to tell them that the outside frame has not been caulked at the top of the windows. I found this out after we had a big storm and the frame was bent. I never saw this because my windows are at least 8ft or more high, who would have thought to get on a ladder and check it? I was told to send texts of the pictures, which I did that day. It has been more than a week and no one has reached out to me. I had to make all the calls last time, I am not doing it this time. The product and workmanship on the 5 windows is garbage. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Greg who came out to explore options and provide us with a quote based on our desires and needs. He was courteous, thoughtful and down to earth. He took the time to get to know us and we greatly appreciate that. Through the work with him and negotiating we are able to come to a very reasonable price that we agreed upon. I really look forward to finishing this review after they complete their work. What they showed us looked fantastic, the speed at which they promise to get the job down is phenomenal. Every conversation we've had has been wonderful, in person or over the phone and we are thankful for that. Right now it's a highly recommend and I hope to be able to say that still if they deliver on all promises. Come back for more later, pictures, full review and all. A few long months later and the job is done! The Pandemic created quite the wait for us and that part was tough but to no fault of the company. We did get multiple letters updating us and we appreciated it as much as it saddened us. When everything finally came in, we were able to set up a date for Chancy and team to do the job and they did an absolutely beautiful job with the door. Our old door set up some unique challenges and they navigated it like pros. Chancy was great about including me along the way about any multiple choice decisions that could be made, as a homeowner I greatly appreciate that inclusion in the process while not having to watch over them. The whole team seemed to be enjoying each other and having fun, what sounded like me typical banter of co-workers and friends, while remaining respectful to my home. After the job was done, Chancy walked us through the project and asked if we wanted any changes on a few items. He also encouraged us to reach out if we had any other concerns moving forward. Wonderful experience with them doing my bathroom last year. Took out the old cast iron tub, put in a new tub and surround and even did part of the ceiling (it slopes over the shower). It was my first major home improvement/ big decision after my husband died, and the saleswoman was very patient with me, informative, and even managed to get me another discount when i was on the fence about the purchase! Start to finish a great experience and superior product (they even threw in some superior quality hardware), i would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

We purchased 4 new windows in October of 2022. We had problems almost immediately. Broken balancers, leaking windows, really poor craftsmanship on the windows and install. The bay window they installed has been leaking since day 1. We have mold groaning, our window sill is warped. I could go on and on. We have been getting the run around for months. After painting and re-painting our cedar shake siding, we decided it would soon be time to have vinyl siding installed. I had previously been contacted by C. Michael Exteriors and told them we'd be interested in siding in a year or two. I was impressed that they remembered and checked in with us about every 6 months. So, this year, when we were finally ready to go, we knew who we were going to call, and we're sooo thankful we did!!! C. Michael Exteriors isn't just a great company to work with. Hands down, the smoothest contracting experience we've ever had! Windows and Siding was a big project that had been on our "need to do" list for several years. We interviewed half a dozen contractors that we had met at the March '18 Syracuse Home Show at the NYS Fairgrounds. C. Michaels Exterior was able to provide a timeline and financing options we could not turn down- and we ended up being able to do the project several months sooner than we anticipated. The crew were absolutely fantastic. They installed 13 new windows and siding in under a week- and were professional and friendly the entire time. They were kind and understanding of our 2 kids who tried not to be underfoot- but were on summer vacation. They were sweet (and brought treats!) to our 2 labs who wanted to be friends with everyone- and don't understand the concept of work. Chance was an excellent head contractor- and just as nit-picky as we were about the little details. Tim- his second in command was just as great- and always kept us in the loop of where things were in the project. The crew promptly arrived each morning and picked up each and every day after themselves. They also clearly liked working with each other- and it was nice to have that energy around the house each day. We added some revisions to our job that happened after we signed the contract in the spring, and that process was smooth and worry free. When the job was over, there were no hidden surprises in our bill- it was exactly what we had agreed upon in the spring. I requested an estimate on windows and was quoted an outrageous price. I was upfront with the salesperson that I had another person that I was getting a quote from. Of course he was able to get the price down quite a bit and wanted me to sign. When I wouldn't sign he got angry and scooped up all his stuff and walked out. Didn't even leave me any information. I am not pleased with this kind of treatment. I did not even get an estimate on some other work I wanted done. Now I would never do business with this place. read more

2 hour lesson on windows. 3 grades of windows, 3 being the best of the best. My windows are basement size windows, 5 were needed. After the pitch, the Salesman said if you could choose which widow for $500.00 a window installed, which would you choose. I said the best of course, so he states for $500 a window would you sign right now. I said yes. Went to the kitchen, he was preparing a quote for a signature. Low and behold...$12,525. ($500 is average per window installed) Somehow it dropped to $9,900 pretty quickly. From the driveway he shouted up he talked to his boss, he could do the 2nd grade of windows for $4,500. Very distasteful technique. He claimed we lost our train of thought or interupted conversation. Two people heard what he said loud and clear! read more

After seeing an advertisement in the paper, I decided to call this company to schedule an appointment for a quote for two windows in my house. After asking my name, address and phone number I was asked if I was married. I was taken aback but answered and then asked if I had authorization to make household decisions. I again was taken aback. I answered that we both make decisions in my house and the salesman just said oh. I made the appointment but after hanging up I kept thinking about his questions and tone. I immediately called back and asked for a manager or supervisor. I was transferred to the same salesman instead. I again asked for a supervisor. He refused to give me a name or transfer me. I explained to him that I was canceling the appointment and that the questions asked about being married and able to make decisions made me uncomfortable and were not necessary. I stated better questions would have been are you the homeowner and what is your budget? The salesman was very brazen and instead of apologizing defended asking such questions. He made it quite clear by his words and tone with me that he and the company believe that if you are a woman you need a mans input. He was very condescending. I told him that I am a licensed realtor and deal with many vendors whom have never asked me such questions. He Informed me that I knew nothing about sales and how business works. I assured him that I do not need to know if someone is married and household dynamics to do business with them. I will never recommend this company to anyone! Any company who operates with these discriminatory practices will not be getting my business. read more

I can't comment on any of the services they provide but I am leaving a review in regard to their customer service. I had representatives calling my phone at all hours. I was at work and had 7 missed calls and two voicemails from this company...in a single day. I was finally able to call them back and asked them to stop calling. The representative (a male) was incredibly rude. I don't recommend harassing potential customers because I am no longer interested in even getting an estimate or quote for a bathroom remodel. Give potential clients an opportunity to respond. 7 calls in the span of three hours is insane. read more

When I called to set up an appointment for an estimate on replacing my bathtub into a walk-in shower, I was asked very intrusive questions by a pushy rep, such as marital status, anyone else living with me, I drew the line when asked income info; in case I wanted to finance before I even meeting with sales person. Sales guy arrived 40 minutes late for appointment, but he did try to text me on my land line instead of my cell, so I did not receive message he was going to be late. When he (Mike) arrived, he spent 90 minutes knocking competitors and independent contractors (who he referred to as "ponytail" contractors). He gave me an estimate of $16,000 for the job; when I told him it was well beyond my budget, he had the nerve to state that I should "move on" (because I am a widow) and splurge and treat myself. Also told me to call the other business from whom I was awaiting an estimate and cancel. Needless to say, I did NOT hire. I had a terrible experience with the sales staff, since they were completely unprofessional and very pushy and sexist. Would have given them 0 stars, but that was not an option. read more
