Awe... how do we start a story where the pretty girl is presented with a ring she "love loves". Amy and I had been in negotiations for a few months on the engagement ring. We searched high and low (prices too) for what we thought would be a perfect engagement ring. The stones, sizes, styles had us fairly confused. So we began our journey, with wedding detail that we could both agree on... location. So, we used a few days during the holiday to venue shop. One of those places was 117 & Grand. As we left the venue, we looked to our left to find White's. In my own naivety, I asked myself what's the worst thing that could happen? I learn more about what Amy would like in a setting and style? We close the deal on this ring, and we move on to the next wedding topic? Entering the Downtown Rogers store, you'll first notice that the inside of the store is busy. I mean there's a lot going on. There are men's watches to the immediate right, walls of jewelry and necklaces, and a nascar track sized oval of jewelry cabinets. And above us, there are military dress and battle dress uniforms respectfully placed in specific Era's. With the cabinet glass crystal clear and a helpful and smiling Jeweler (Dan) assisting us, we were off to a quick start on the first cabinet. Based on her initial thoughts and likes, Dan took Amy on a thorough tour of available options. Somewhere in between the first two cabinets, Dan asked if I had proposed yet. Without blinking, I responded, "Not until the pregnancy test comes back. There's no reason to jump ahead." He laughed. I appreciated his sense of humor as we moved through the available options. Dan and Amy were in deep thought and prayer with those cabinets, I wandered to the last cabinet (near turn one), and found this unique tension set ring. There were only two tension settings offered. As Amy and Dan were wrapping up, with few questions answered, I asked about this ring. Amy saw it and fell in love with it immediately as Dan passed her the ring. Step 2: Finding the stone, the selected diamond was beautiful top down, once it was set, you could view the flaws from both sides. If the setting was prong, or recessed, you wouldn't have noticed the flaw. Good news, there's always a slightly and more perfect stone. And it's just as beautiful from the top down, and on both sides. The price was fair and negotiation was quick. From the sale, there's a detailed service program that accompanies it. What an amazing shop and staff! I called ahead of time to ask if I needed to make an appointment to bring in some items to be evaluated for sale to White's Jewelry. They let me know I didn't need an appointment but to try to come earlier in the day. So, I came in. The nice gentleman was so patient with me, and went through every item I brought. He helped me to understand what each item was and what the value was. He gave me the option to sell. Some of the items I could sell, I decided to keep and they very kindly spent time to clean them for me. The items I did sell, they gave me an excellent price for. I got a check right away. Overall, the staff here are amazing at what they do. They really know the value of items and take the time to educate you on what you have. The facility itself is fantastic. They have so many antique and special interest items lining the walls. It is really a feast for the eyes. This place is a gem! Really the anchor store of downtown Rogers. The main man that runs the Rogers White's Jewelry store is truly mean. I went in to buy junk silver and he wouldn't let me look thru it and when I finally got to, he looked up two pieces and said they shouldn't be in there and that was right after he said it was all the same. He yelled at me when I asked the price, like I should know what it was. It took everything I had to pay and not say something. I had to walk out very upset and I will never go back! He was so mean and rude, not sure how he even has a business to run. read more
