I just had a recent bad experience with A G Russell. I ordered something for a friend. First thing that happened was. they locked my account so i couldnt get in to even review the order. So the next day I called and i got and email shortly after with a new password and a copy of the receipt. Now the was shown as available when i ordered it and i had requested 2 day shipping. so after 6 days I replied to the previous email and ask for status and said that this was a gift and they had embarrassed me. The next day i get a call first at 9 am (before my morning coffee) and the lady tells me its on backorder. Normally i wouldnt care, but this was for someone else. That and the fact that I requested 2 day shipping, should have been a red flag prompting someone to say" maybe we should call this guy and let him know its now going to be there on time, " She offered no ETA, no sympathy. no solutions, not even a proper apology. She basically didnt care. Her attitude was like "sucks to be you, you should have expect it to be on backorder, why did you call". So I guess whenever they finally had the product available, they were going to ship to 2 day air in six or whenever. I cancelled the order and went somewhere else. Ive been a customer for decades, so if they will do it to me, Im sure they will do it to someone else. A G Russell is not the same as it once was. They obviously dont maintain their websites inventory. They dont care about their customers like they used to. D read more

A.G. Russell has always been a great source for hard to get Randall Knives. Fair price without having to wait 5 years for a knife to be delivered. Good communication about the short 2 months I'd have to wait, but when I got my knife I couldn't believe how poorly it was packaged This several hundred dollar knife was simply wrapped in newspaper and then placed loosely in a medium USPS Flat Rate box. The knife was the same length as the interior of the box and if any pressure had been applied to the box lengthwise the knife would have had its tipo damaged or someone could have been injured. You'd think that as long as A.G. Russell has been in business they would have learned how to ship a knife. read more

Unfortunately I don't remember the gentleman and lady's name (I'm sorry) but they both took the time to show us everything we wanted to see and even gave us tips on looking for the right knife. Additionally, I really appreciate them continuing to enforce COVID-19 precautions for everyone's safety. Best Knife Store Ever! I became a knife collector about 15 years ago. I have to admit I didn't have much knowledge about them. I just liked them! One trip to AG and Goldie's store and I was hooked. They shared with me so much knowledge about knives I had no idea how important the details were. They only sell products they would use themselves, and they expect them to last. I have bought knives of all shapes and sizes and the products are top notch quality. And if your ever in NWA stop by and visit the store It's amazing. read more

Would never recommend them or buy from them again. Sent them a check for a catalog item, week later got a card stating the item had not come in for delivery, Called, they had no idea when they'd have it (Why do they advertise merchandise they really don't have for sale?) So I opted for a refund, they had no idea when that would happen either. After a month of waiting, I spoke to the customer service super, she advised the check would be in the mail in the morning. Week after that, no check. Who the hell are these people to treat a customer like this? What gives them the right to keep money that they're not entitled to? Do business with them if you like but I can buy a knife made in China lots of places...........cheaper too. read more

My dad and I have been shopping here for over 25 years. Back then they were in a small building behind his home, now they are in a large warehouse and showroom. If it has to do knives or anything knife related, shop her first. Kitchen, hunting, specialty, military, or just basic gentlemen's carry, they have it. My two girls, ages 7 & 8 kept asking when they could get their first knives. My 8yo picked out a nice SOG while the 7yo had more expensive taste. I have purchased many knives from Russell Knives. All were as advertised, except the last two. Both had flaws that would disqualify them as "seconds". One was quite expensive and a work of art. Or would have been if it didn't show obvious damage to the finish, as well as a joinder line all the way around. This is a collector knife; it'll never appreciate in this condition. The other one shows the plug over the screw in the handle butt. Even hardware store knives manage to hide that. I spent a lot of.money and won't buy from Russell's again. I found the third back in time knife on sale for less than half price on another site less than a year ago. Same, exact, handmade one-of-kind knife. They're just out to make as much as possible and then close, is my guess. read more

While the company has a wide selection of knives, their customer service is piss poor. Not only do they charge to sharpen any knife you purchase from them, but they also take a week to do it. It's a knife shop with a warehouse in the back where they manufacture their own knives! They should be able to sharpen your knives on the spot in a matter of minutes! Also, unless you are a big time knife collector who they know, the salesmen hardly pay attention when you walk in the store and are not helpful at all. I have been on A.G. Russell's mailing list for years and have purchased many knives from them over the years. I have never had a problem with their knives or products or their customer service. Recently, my wife and went on vacation and I stopped in at the store in Rogers, Arkansas. I had a couple of questions about the qualities of different knife steels that the sales ladies couldn't answer, so one of the ladies went to the back and Goldie Russell came out and we talked knife steel and knives (mostly I listened) for at least a half hour. I ended up buying 2 knives on that visit. I would highly recommend this business for your next knife purchase. They have knives with very good steel for around $25.00 to knives with premium steel up to $200.00 and more. They also have knives for collectors that are made in the USA by custom knife makers. read more

Just went there yesterday on way back to TX from vacation in MO. My son and I had a great time looking at all the goodies, my wife finally got us out because my daughters were ready to leave Starbucks (drop off non-knife folks there on way to Randall's). Very disappointed. Just purchased 3 knives and i am going to return all 3. The Jettison (both large and small) come with a flipper to open it. It only opens less than half way. Very annoying. the "Folding Cook's Knife" will not stay open on the first try. read more

Ordered a knife online on a Friday and was told it would take 4 to 7 days to arrive, called back on Thursday of the next week to find out where the knife was in the shipping process. I was told it would arrive 11 days after my order date..... turned a special birthday gift for a loved one into no gift at all, yeah I will get the knife but not on time, and I would have opted for faster delivery if I would have been given this information at the time of purchase, I even told the person on the phone that I was getting this as a birthday gift and the time of delivery was of importance, I was reassured by the sales associate that it would arrive on time.....
