This is an overdue review. I am never one to go onto Yelp to write negative reviews, but this one feels important enough for me to speak up in hopes that others who find themselves in vulnerable emergency situations don't make the same mistake we did. We had a burst pipe that caused flooding in our basement. In a panic, I searched for an emergency extraction service on Yelp and came across C3 Restoration Services. Seeing their high reviews, I called and spoke with Kim, who was initially very helpful and prompt. After I explained the situation, she quoted us a price. Wanting to mitigate the damage as soon as possible, and feeling like Kim was trustworthy, we sent in our deposit, and she dispatched a team to our house. For an emergency rate of several thousand dollars, you expect a professional team with professional equipment to show up. Instead, two guys arrived from C3 completely empty-handed. They proceeded to go down to our flooded basement with two plastic buckets. They began scooping water out of our flooded basement with buckets, sloshing dirty, contaminated water all over our house and entrance to dump it outside. This contaminated basement water was being tracked all over our foyer where our small child and dogs walk. Immediately sensing something was wrong, we asked the crew if this was normal protocol. One of them openly admitted that their pump had broken a month ago and this was what they were instructed to do. This was an active emergency--we needed water extracted immediately to prevent structural damage--and these men were instructed to haul gallons of this water up our stairs bucket by bucket, all while ruining our flooring. I immediately called Kim, the dispatcher, to tell her this couldn't be right. She initially agreed and said she needed to speak to the team. When she called back, her tone had changed. She said she spoke with Nathan (the owner) and suddenly claimed that a manual bucket brigade is quite common and that they mitigate flooding with buckets all the time. I leveled with her with something along the lines of, 'Kim, if this was your house, and you paid thousands of dollars for emergency relief, you would know something is deeply wrong if two guys showed up with a bucket.' She seemed to understand, but it was clear Nathan was in her ear, completely unwilling to take accountability for the clown show happening in our home. After a few rounds of frustrating back-and-forth calls, Kim called to say the crew was going to go to Home Depot to buy a pump. I need to note here: the crew did not lay down any proper floor protection while sloshing water through our house. They put down one narrow strip of brown paper that did absolutely nothing, and one of the guys was casually wiping the floors with what seemed like a dirty rag or t-shirt. As we sat there waiting for them to return from Home Depot, we realized how insane this was. We called Kim back and informed her we were terminating their services due to gross negligence and breach of contract. Furthermore, it wasn't fair to their own employee, who was being forced by Nathan to haul heavy water up and down stairs by hand for what would have taken hours. It was completely inhumane. After much back-and-forth, we stated we expected a full refund. To be completely transparent, they did eventually refund us the full amount via Zelle and did not fight us on it, which I want to acknowledge. HOWEVER, taking on an emergency job knowing you do not possess working equipment, and throwing your employees into a situation they are not equipped to handle, borders on a scam. Their actions were predatory, unprofessional, and dishonest. We deeply regret wasting critical time during a home crisis purely based on a inflated "4.9" rating. If you find yourself in a vulnerable situation and are looking for a reliable company with honesty and integrity, look elsewhere. Nathan and C3 Restoration are absolutely not it. read more

Casa California Condominiums experienced a serious drain backup on the first floor twice in two days in mid April 2025. His remediation team came within an hour, and stayed into the evening to clean up sewage water, set up fans for drying, mop floors and assess damage. The second day the drain backed up again. C3 showed up to clean up the water all over again. They were able to assess the damage to the tile and laminate floors, bring in a licensed electrician to assess the water sitting in raceways under floor outlets, check for mold and do damage control throughout the lobby, laundry and community room. C3 connected our association with another team of excellent sub contractors; electricians, cement technicians, flooring experts and cabinetry installers. Although C3 had completed the job quickly and professionally, I had a deeply disappointing experience with their owner after discovering damage to my tile flooring. The issue wasn't so much the damage itself but the fact that when I raised this issue with the manager, they dismissed my concerns and claimed that such damages were not covered nor caused by them despite clear evidence to the contrary written in their contract. Upon further pushback he flatly denied any possibility of wrong doing and became extremely defensive. This lack of accountability is both frustrating and unethical. I contacted C3 for a second opinion after a contractor told my brother in law that he had black mold in his attic and was going to charge him upwards of $33K for remediation. We live in Altadena, and are very fortunate that no homes on our block or immediate surrounding blocks were burned. We also have fairly new windows and they kept out a lot of ash and smoke. So while our home was not severely damaged by ash or smoke, we wanted to have it professionally remediated as we have young children. After being ghosted by one company, I was on the search for another and was encouraged by the good reviews of C3. They are very responsive. I was contacted within the hour and I appreciated that they provided a price sheet in their email so it was transparent. I didn't love that you had to pay $250 before they inspect, but they said it would be given back if we went with them. We had a walk through, and again, very responsive, very personable. We were told that it would be a 2-3 day cleaning and an additional 2-3 days with hydroxyl fans running for a level 2 cleaning. Then the quote came in; we had asked for a quote on cleaning the ducts and cleaning some upholstered furniture. We went with another company to do the ducts so we asked to remove that. The updated quote came back with a $1,500 furniture moving fee. We asked about that, and were told they would remove that, and that they would not clean our upholstery, but would keep that fee on the quote. We were feeling apprehensive but desperately wanted a cleaning so we agreed. We also had to pay 100% upfront before the cleaning began. There is not a line item on the quote for the $250 deposit but we were told it was included. The rate was reasonable, especially compared to other quotes I have been hearing about from other companies. We had to remove all art from the walls and move all our furniture away from walls. We asked them to please clean the fireplace and to focus on the laundry room especially behind the appliances as that room received the brunt of damage. Cleaning day arrives. They start. My husband had to leave for a bit and when he came home a few hours later, the guys were sitting in their car. They ran back into the house when they saw him park. They cleaned for around 5 hours and then we were told the entire job was done. They did not clean the fireplace. Of course they need a lunch break, but they were not eating, and then they left for good 10 minutes later. We pointed out that the fireplace was not done, and they did end up doing it when they came back for the hydroxyl fans a few days later. My husband ran a paper towel under the dryer and it came up dirty. I want to give credit to them, the floors were very clean and they did a good job on the windows. They are very responsive and have good customer service. Did they remediate the house? Yes. Was it a thorough and detail oriented clean? I do not believe so. So many of us in Altadena will need remediation cleanings, and I think it is important to get the full picture before working with a company. read more

We discovered a rotted-out drain pipe in the exterior wall of our brand new (to us) condo as the outside stucco wall had "bowed away" from the sill plate leaving a substantial air gap which had allowed moisture to enter the wallspace. For years! Signs of moisture intrusion suddenly appeared on the inside wall board, which was consequently cut away. C3 Restoration services was engaged to do the mold remediation and subsequent certification. I contacted 5 candidates from (of course) Yelp. 2 were disqualified for bad phone communication. 3 were invited to come take a look and submit a bid. C3 was the first to respond that the first to arrive on site. The next day. C3 was quickest to submit a bid. And C3's bid was the most detailed. And C3's bid was the cheapest. C3's team cut out the wallboard further, installed a tent, installed equipment to do the dry-out all within a day after our approving the bid. Could not be faster. Dry-out completed, C3 came back and did the remediation and took samples for lab testing. C3 said if the mold tests showed mold, they'd come back and fix it but they assured us an unfavorable lab result was highly unlikely. We took this as a guarantee of their work. Lab results showed site clear of mold. So, yes, we are highly satisfied with the work itself and also want to mention that Nathan Carrasco, project manager, was responsive, communicative and solicitous. He forwarded photos from the site to document as work it progressed. Very reassuring. I don't think you can do better. Period. read more

I'm a homeowner in Pasadena/Alta Dena who was looking for restoration & cleaning services as a result of smoke caused by the recent fires. One of the most important things for me when hiring someone to do work on my home or vehicle is trustworthiness. There are A LOT of stories out there right now about homeowners being quoted $25K plus for a cleaning. Now, while I do not doubt that in some cases, that's necessary, I also know of some properties that were not close to the fire and were being quoted this much. We see this a lot with auto services, too, suggesting maintenance on parts of your car that really don't need it. What I appreciate about Nathan and his business is that they're honest. He came by for an inspection before quoting, came in person, tested air quality, looked at the entire property, and then provided a very fair quote. I specifically asked him about the list of services that I had seen online, again, hey gave an honest answer, "here's what you need, here's what you don't need." Hello everyone! I have a family of 3 , including one dog - Our 3 year old lab had frequent vet visits , and daughter had a reoccurring cough that would resurface on the first of each month ever since we moved into our new home in Los Angeles . Very disheartening to hear our doctor say she had no idea where and why our daughter's cough persisted .
