So do you ever have service providers disappear once they've gotten your cheque in hand? That's not MACS Restoration. A few days after we had fully paid them up for finishing their work, they called back to schedule an additional cleanup prior to testing. I think that one example shows how they really make customer service a priority, even when they might not have a financial stake any longer. Their prices on top of that were very reasonable and they had correctly assessed the cause of the water damage even prior to removing the walls which speaks to their experience on handling water damage issues. I liked how they were able to offer both demolition and reconstruction services. They were also very helpful in coordinating with our tenant instead of having us act as intermediaries. Finally they kept to their estimated timetable and to their quote (except for replacing a shower door which understandably would be an additional cost). Now you usually don't wish for more water damage to occur, but if it did we would definitely be interested in going back to MACS. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Jose at MACS Restoration and I cannot recommend him enough. Our house was built in 1949 and we have had a LOT of repairs over the years. This vendor is more thorough, more honest and has better communication than any we have ever worked with. Our saga began with a leak under our house that wasn't detected for a few months. Four companies bid the job, and we quickly entered the Kafkaesque world of mold remediation (one vendor suggested tearing apart half our home and that we move out). Francisco and MAC were so professional, thorough, cooperative, and conscientious - and reasonably priced - that I can not encourage you enough to call MACs.I am posting here because I want people to not make the novice mistakes I made, because mold in a tenant's apartment will cause an owner so much stress. But MACS took care of it at a very reasonable price. I had a tub spout that backflowed into the wall behind the shower in a tenant's bathroom. Francisco gave me the most reasonable quote (some quotes are simply outlandish) and did the remediation while communicating thoroughly with the nervous tenant and I. I cannot recommend Mac's Restoration enough. My home was impacted during the Eaton fire, and while I'm extremely luckily to still have my home standing environmental testing showed elevated levels of lead. I used Mac's for my remediation services and worked with Francisco. They have always been prompt with all the questions I've asked, and they were able to get started on remediating my home quickly. At no additional cost, they worked with me to make sure that all the clearance testing I did after the initial cleaning came up negative. I used a third party for this testing (JLM Environmental) and they really took the time to make sure they were doing right by the reports. The cleaning they did was thorough. They did proper per-room isolation with negative air installed in the home. The cleaning of the exterior was very thorough as well, with a soft wash of the home, driveway and even other hiding areas that soot & ash could be found (like my piles of wood). Every soft good in the home was cleaned thoroughly, including taking all clothing, bedding, rugs, etc. for separate cleaning. They left their filtration system running in both the home and detached garage until I was ready to move in. Mac's removed my insulation and cleaned my attic, and several of the company's I had give me an estimate for insulation replacement commented on the cleanliness of the attic. My family works in this industry on the east coast where lead abatement is common due to the age of the homes there, and their unbiased reviews of the photos I sent of Mac's work corroborated the fact that Mac's is a professional outfit. I felt taken care of by the team, and I'm glad I chose a local business to work with rather then Serv Pro, who ghosted me during the quote process several times. read more

My landlady hired MACS to remediate water damage and mold in the kitchen of our rental house. They were very professional and let us know upfront the noise levels and other ways it would impact us as my husband works from home. Unfortunately, they found a second leak which extended the work an extra day, but they let us know right away. Al, Francisco, and Cesar kept me updated constantly throughout the process and worked with me to lessen the impact each step of the way, even though I'm just the tenant. They bagged and removed debris offsite everyday, and kept the areas surrounding the containment very tidy. At the end of each day, Cesar walked me though what had been done, what the next steps were, and asked if I had questions--very much appreciated! When their job was completed, he offered to leave up the plastic sheeting to continue protecting the air and our belongings when the next crew came in to rebuild. I agreed and so they reinforced the tape and left it up. I am so glad I accepted this as the construction crew currently here is not nearly as clean. I can't say enough great things about this company. They turned my water leak disaster into a manageable situation, through their combination of knowledge, kindness and professionalism. I had a leak in the HVAC drainage in the attic which appeared as a growing stain across the garage ceiling and the mildew smell. I called a repairman to have the HVAC repaired, right after I discovered it, shortly before I scheduled the M.A.C.S. team. But it may have been leaking undetected for a while. I contacted MACS, and they responded right away. Francisco came to our house, did an assessment of our water damage, which included going up into the attic where the HVAC was located. (Note: another company I called refused to go up into the attic before estimating. I did not hire them.) Francisco clearly explained the situation and the process in a way that made sense to me. I was charged a reasonable amount for the work, and they came in within my budget. We scheduled the demo (and restoration, through another company MACS recommended) quickly. The M.A.C.S. team were all very organized and worked efficiently, removing a large amount of insulation in the attic that had become wet and mildewed. They neatly removed the affected drywall, removed the wet insulation, sprayed the area with an antimicrobial (non-toxic, except to microbes, apparently) solution. And started drying dried the area with dryers. Then they closed off the area with the dryers and plastic. And they left the place cleaner than when they got there. They really went above and beyond. I could see where this situation, with the wrong contractor could have been a nightmare. I am so grateful to have had a contractor that did this fantastic job. I highly recommend them. read more
