I got engaged recently and unfortunately my ring was too big!! We started looking for a jeweler who could do the adjustment for us at a reasonable price. We knew it would be a difficult ask. But Charlie did fantastic work! Rounding out the band and making sure all my diamonds were aligned. The care and precision he shows each piece really reflect his knowledge and expertise. That was the first thing that caught our attention! My ring finally fits and it came beautiful! Not to mention Annie was so sweet! Her customer service was lovely. It was a pleasure meeting and working with them. The turn around time was pretty quick too! I haven't purchased anything here but had a great consultation experience. You should make an appointment so you have the designers attention but we went on a whim and they let us look at a few of their items. Annie was so sweet and funny. She was not pushing us to buy anything but really selling Charlie the designer. He seemed very knowledgeable and honest. I highly recommend Charlie and CA Jewelry. I recently moved back from the East Coast and have been looking for a local jeweler to help to help design and create custom settings for some of my gemstones. Charlie was able to fix mistakes another jeweler had made on a necklace for me. He was super considerate in listening to my needs, very honest (he even complimented the other jewelers' work after evaluating my necklace), and extremely thorough. After examining my necklace, he gave me a variety of options to fix it, at a variety of price points (depending on the level of work). He actually recommended a less expensive solve to me based on my needs, which I appreciated. He is trained as a mechanical engineer, which definitely showed in his ability to explain to me how the prongs on my setting needed to be aligned to the stone for optimal security and visual appeal. Charlie fixed my necklace very quickly and on site, and even provided a complimentary steam cleaning. I came in to have my brand new wedding band resized. It also felt heavy and too thick so I asked Charlie how he can help. He took the time to draw it and explain how exactly he'll go about it. He also advised me on the perfect size which the other place failed to do obviously. He then told me he'll need 2 days to complete the work, but a few hours later it was ready! I wasn't sure about it at first feeling he removed too much of the thickness, but after wearing it for a few weeks now, I love it. I also like the fact that he did it himself, whereas the place I purchased the band from would have sent it to some other place. All in all great advice, great work, great service. I was in search of a blue sapphire ring for my wife when my friend Kevin recommended Charlie to me. Kevin called Charlie for me asking if he had any blue sapphires on hand in which Charlie said he did. I was sitting inside my friends car when he made that call and when he asked Charlie how much per carat for the sapphire, Charlie had told him between $800-$1000.00. I was ok with that price and had not bother shopped around since Charlie was referred by a very good friend of mine. When I came in to see the sapphire he didn't have much on hand. It was basically another ring that was probably bought back or trade in from another customer. At this point I'm still trying to work things out with him and when I asked him the price per carat, his replied was $2,500.00 per carat! My mind started to reel and I was thinking WTF?? I was in the car that day when my friend called and I know what I heard. So after that I just went on my way and told my friend what had happen. Contacted them to have two rings adjusted last minute and they did a great job!! One ring was a diamond solitaire and they fixed the engraving too. The other ring was more complicated and was a pearl with diamonds on the band, but they did a great job adjusting the bands of both rings.
