Sadly, I have had it with this place! I don't often write a negative review but after today's experience I am completely done with this place! It is conveniently located for me , so I have been here a number of times. To be honest it's never been great but no real complaints. Unfortunately, my last 2 times, including today, I have experienced long waits. Today took the cake though! They like to set you up in the chair which makes you think it won't be too long. Last time my wait was about 1/2 an hour before the tech began the service, my thought was, ok, I didn't have an appointment, so no real problem. Today, I waited in the chair for 50 minutes! There was no one who looked even close to done, so there was no way to know how much longer it would take. When asked how long the wait was the owner/boss was telling people 1/2 an hour and that they were short handed. I can understand that, but giving people an honest time assessment so that they can decide if they want to wait that long seems a better business practice. After sitting for 50 minutes, and not knowing how much more time I would have to wait before the actual service, I decided to leave. There seemed to be no concern that I left. my daughter is a professional singer..She had just got to Santa Fe and had nothing but wonderful experiences until she encountered this nail salon. She called me literally in tears. The air seems toxic, the smell of strong nail polish and cleaning agents is obnoxiously strong. It is hard to breathe, but there appears to be no air conditioning to move the toxicity around and to clear the air. They do not take reservations and only accept walk-ins. They don't offer water or other amenities to the guests who are paying a lot for a mani/pedi. It is a very low-end operation with high prices. It does not feel clean. Nail powder is everywhere and they don't appear to clean up after each client. Although the staff wears masks, Covid cautions do not seem to be taken. The restroom is crowded with a dirty mop and cleaning materials. The man who owns/operates the salon is loud and rude. The women who work here talk and scream at each other and laugh and cackle loudly. The feeling is not one of cleanliness nor caring for the clientele. My pedicure and dipped nails were not particularly well done although they cost $80+ tip. If you are looking for a nail salon where you can relax, have a great manicure/pedicure, and walk out feeling and looking terrific, look elsewhere. read more

I've been going to CA nails for years and have always had good experiences. You have to be smart about walking away when it's overcrowded and coming back at another time. This morning I arrived when they opened and walked right in and got a pedicure in a manicure and was done in an hour. The work is always good. The people are kind. Can I give ZERO stars? This was an absolutely awful pedicure. They used old, clumpy polish (theirs) and it looked even worse than pictured (until I asked him to fix it). Then, he got polish on my sandal, which is now stained! Also, in addition to the worst polish application, there was very little CURE in this pedi...my feet are still dry and cracked because there was NO treatment whatsoever. I specifically booked @3:00 since I live 30 minutes away from this location in eldorado. I arrive on time and they tell me it would be an 1 hour and 30 mintue wait. Considering their shortage of staff I wasn't too concerned. I was told $95 for a PEDICURE AND FULLSET, they soaked my feet for 20 minutes, took off my gel. That's all. No nail cutting, cuticle cutting, dead skin scrubbing, or the wax I asked for over the phone. They proceeded to slap acrylic on my unkempt nails and expect $95 dollars for a half ass job. First of all during Covid it's packed obviously over capacity with staff paying no attention. I went in for a mani pedi. Mediocre at best. My toes had polish all around and a smudge from where she tried to "take off the polish". Didn't bother to properly take the excess polish off the skin.Now..... my nails didn't bother taking off prior clear coat I had on. Filed them to her liking the edges were extremely sharp and when I asked if she could buff the corners the lady was really annoyed grabbed my hand abruptly and did the minimal. This is a comfortably, clean, walk-in nail salon. I went on a busy Saturday and waited about 15 minutes for a pedicure. Long did my nails and it was probably the best pedicure I've ever had. She was very thorough and cleaned up my nails really well. She was also super friendly, as were the rest of the employees. While it seemed a little disorganized when I first walked in and had to wait, the pedicure was absolutely amazing. I definitely plan on going here for all my Manis and pedicures in the future. Sorry to the owner for posting such a negative review but last week being seen by the guy who sits closest to the door and the woman he passed me onto half way did such a poor set of full nails with gel. The guy brags that he has been doing nails for 35 years, but I think his training or standards of quality are poor. Having gotten my nails done elsewhere I am used to stunning quality, but trying your salon for the first time when I have lost my previous nail artist. I was do disappointed. The nail was not buffed enough prior to gluing the nail on, do today I hope back a week later because the nail has lifted off. He went to place glue close to the cuticle but I showed him it has lifted do please place the glue under the nail....again I get yd he has been doing this for 25 yes, and people all day have been telling him what to do..hmm hint hint I feel. So he glued near the cuticle but not lifting the nail, so now I know I have an air-pocket between the top and the end of the cuticle, great if you want water under it and a fungal issue. But back to the work originally did. Whilst working on my nails being St the front, he was the greeter/manager he tells me do every give minutes, interruptions. I don't believe he buffed my natural nail enough, hence a week later it lifting. Ok, the acrylic powder he put on thick and rough. His attempt to shape the acrylic powder to look smooth and blended was not done with thick edges on one side and thinner on the other side. So the finish is poor to say the least. His girlfriend he tells me arrives do he gets up and says she will do the gloss gel coat, gets up and sits with another woman and begins hers. So the "girlfriend" shapes into the almond shape And begins painting them. The Polish looks old and thin And gluggy. The two coats she does are very poor, unbalanced and not even. You can see the color variations very easily in s normal lit too. No depth of color, a few air bubbles and uneven color. I'm super heated right now. I understand wait times and I think it's great when a business is busy. BUT I walked in and asked for a gel manicure and was told to have a seat. About 15 minutes later I asked how much longer and was told 30 minutes. I said I wished he would have told me that when I came in. He advised they only tell how long the wait is if the customer asks. Not only was this place dirty but the work was horrible. My nails are uneven and my fingers are covered in gel polish. I went with a friend and had the same woman do both of ours. They both look awful. The coats are uneven as well. I'll be having to get them removed at another salon this week. And when I say dirty... not only did she use the same nail buffer on us both which is disgusting (I didn't notice it until half way through) but the counters are caked in god knows what and nail dust covers everything. The people here are always talkative and friendly, they all do a good job and I'm always satisfied with the work. I don't know why people are having such a hard time, the workers ( or most of them ) won't mind fixing something. They usually ask you if they are ok before they do the next step. They've done beautiful full set nails for me for big events and have done basic mani's just to make my hands look good too. And don't get me started with the pedi's! WORST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIFE ...my best friend and I decided to have a girls day and went to CA Nails for a manicure and pedicure. What was supposed to be a fun and relaxing day turned into a nightmare. We were scheduled for an appointment at 2:00 and when we got there we were told to sit at two pedicure chairs we waited patiently. A gentleman and woman came to do our pedicures, they pulled an ingrown from both of our nails and hurt us to the point we pulled our foot away. When we did this they laughed and said "oh did that hurt" then continued to pull our skin causing my friend . We both woke up the next morning with our toes hurting, red and irritated. When the lady finished with my nails she dipped her tools in the water my feet had been soaking in then put it away with her other tools without sanitizing them. Once I was finished with my pedicure I was moved to another lady to do my manicure and my friend was getting her manicure one seat away from me. After getting my nails drilled I looked over and realized it didn't look like she changed the drill tip after her last client. She then put my acrylic tips on and put one on crooked and when I told her it was crooked she took a deep breath and shook her head as she took it off. She then told me "you tell me if it looks straight cause it may be the way you're looking at it." The gentleman doing my friends nails was told what design and color she would like, he didn't understand her so he was doing it wrong when she told him he became rough with her and was drilling too close to her cuticles and cut her multiple times. She left with her nails thin and crooked and her cuticles cut up. My friends mom called CA nails regarding this situation and asked to speak to a manager, Don told her the managers name was Hung and told her to call back tomorrow to speak with him. She called back the next day and Don answered again and when she asked for the manager he said "talk to me" and she said "no I want to speak with Hung" Don then said "this is Hung speak to me" she said "no this is Don" he giggled and she got frustrated and hung up. OUCH! My technician failed to do what the client before me asked for, and was disciplined (gently) by the boss. This was all in Vietnamese, which I do not speak, nonetheless, her annoyance was visceral and clear in any language. Working on me, she spent the whole time griping loudly to the other technicians, stopping frequently to complain, paying way less attention to my nails than her own hurt ego. She actually cut my skin so it bled - not once, but twice - and my cuticles are more ragged than when I walked in the door. I was there yesterday and got my nails done. This morning I woke up to a disaster of a French Manicure. In less than 24 hours I went to fix my nails and the manager was very rude because I explained I did not like the way they looked. I had them cover my nails with a polish but while this happened the manager was talking about me to another client and I asked him to please not talk about me while I was right there. He kicked me out of the store! The store was full of people and it was very embarrassing and this is no way to treat a client. I didn't mind to pay, I just wanted my nails to look great especially after paying for this. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I arrived before 1pm and requested a manicure with shellac. I was asked to have a seat and told it would be a few minutes. Had I been informed of the excessive wait, I would have left right then. An hour later the gentleman that greeted me argued with me saying that I asked for dip, which I absolutely did not and I was finally moved to a table. They then had me soak my hands in acetone for 40 MINUTES while waiting for a tech to come available. The tech I was finally assigned worked so hurriedly my nails ended up looking like my 4 year old nephew painted them. See the pics. I spoke to the man who appeared to be in charge and showed him how awful they looked and he told me to sit and wait for someone to fix them. As I had already spent over 2 hours there and I had clients to meet I told him I could not wait any longer and he said to come back anytime. Since I did not care to waste any more of my time dealing with this sad excuse for a salon, I asked for a refund. He rudely refused and said I paid for service not a product. He is right.
