There were styles to suit many people there were colors for more than one complexion. The Talbott style does lean towards the practical and the casual. You don't hear me objecting. When I popped in today, it was clearly the holiday season in there. The sales weren't quite as impressive as the ones I saw on my first trip, but this is clearly the lead into the holiday frenzy and things will be changing rapidly. My doctor just informed me she's making a change to my medication's. Therefore, I will be losing weight again involuntarily. While I may be actively looking, I won't be buying anything until my weight settles down. I believe that will be sometime after the new year so I'll have to check again. But it sure is encouraging to pop into Talbots. Here's a store with clothing I feel comfortable wearing and I think I can rely on them to offer me selection and excellent price when I need it. The leather craftsman/person is Lu Comora, and she was making a custom alligator bag when I walked in, very Hermes type of design. Apparently was trained by a former Hermes craftsman. Anyway, she is such a skilled leather worker, -- I loved watching and then experiencing the feel of the hand-polished edges. I began to understand the difference between manufactured versus custom leather bags. She told me she makes all of her bags there on-site. (She's really nice to talk to) What a delight to find her shop-- Imagine importing Hermes into a small atelier in Santa Rosa! I'll definitely be back! This was the highlight of the wine-tasting weekend.
