As a grandmother I wanted to look around for my grandkids but was asked to leave because I had a small cup of ice cream. Not even a cone! She said go outside and come back when I finish. I said I won't come back to my daughter. She heard me and literally followed me out the store to yell to me to not be that way! She was rude. Can't believe she dashed out of the store to say that to my as I was walking down the sidewalk. I am now adding to my review after the business response. I was accused of using expletives! The Cupcake store at Montgomery Village is AMAZING--how did I not know about this place sooner?! I have three little girls, and I'm absolutely in love with their clothing selection. The colors, fabrics, and textures are beautiful and truly unique--things I usually only find when shopping in LA or NYC. It's so refreshing to see this level of style and quality locally. The staff (Sandra + Brileigh) was incredibly friendly and helpful without being pushy. I found the most amazing Mayoral cardigan for my daughters, and it instantly became a favorite. On top of that, Montgomery Village itself has done a complete 180. The store selection and overall ambience have improved so much--it feels vibrant and thoughtfully curated now. The store has very cute styles for boys and girls and the salesperson was very helpful while I tried to put together a cute outfit for a granddaughter. I do wish however that the owner would consider expanding the color palette and overall aesthetic of the store to a more "fresh" look. The colors of the clothing are quite muted: faded looking and greyed out blues, dusty rose, brownish mauves etc. This is throughout the store and I really struggled to find items I liked. My daughter received items much too small for her birthday. I came to exchange them and Rylie let me know that this was her first time doing an exchange and to bare with her. She asked me if I wanted it put it on the original card and I said no, because that was not my card (it was a gift) and I would be doing some shopping to swap out these items right now. She said okay and that she got it (while taking a minute). After that she handed me a recipe with a scan code at the bottom so I assumed that would be what she used when I went back up with the new items. She looked at me and asked why I was handing her the receipt and when I said I didn't know how she needed to do it for the exchange and then she said, oh no you said back to the card to which I responded no I did not, I wouldn't do that when it was a gift and the gift giver does not live in the area. Then, upon everyone else trying to figure out this situation, Rhylie continues to dig for the original receipt that she could not even keep track of for the 20 minutes during this entire ordeal. Stating she didn't throw it in this specific trash can, but can not locate it. The owner was called by another employee and told me to ask the gift giver to just wire me the money. From a "HIGH END BOUTIQUE" I would expect they would know that is the worst etiquette to call up someone and ask for money for a gift that was given at the inconvenience of a wire transfer, as suggested by the owner. As a working mom with young kids, it is very hard to get out and be able to go shopping like this. The fact that I just had to leave the store with no items, not even the ones I came in with that were given to us because of a mistake on the employee's part is absolutely absurd. Along with being told I said something I did not left the worst feeling when walking out of the store empty handed. As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes happen and I get it, but the fact that there was zero that could've been done in that moment on my behalf, due to Rhylie's mistake was very saddening. The other lady who stepped in to assist Rhylie told me that since half an hour as well had gone by since the transaction went through, there was really nothing they could do since it went to the other persons card. All that happened in that half an hour was a rummage through a trash can on their part to find my original receipt, and a phone call to tell me to ask a gift giver for a money transfer. Hush up kids boutique in Windsor has far better customer service, and will solely have my business from here on out. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Your trained staff that took over for the new girl that was on the phone with you half pulled the phone away from her ear and said "She wants to know if they can just wire you the money". That is 100% not a miscommunication on my part, and from you and your trained staff member. That is why I didn't give it more than Three, not two hours before posting reviews. You had time to respond to me here instead of the email I sent reaching out to you which shows in itself. I love and respect small business but the fact I left your store without a single apology, even from the people in person, and only left there feeling blamed and was something I've never experienced before as a consumer and why I felt this review was appropriate. read more

I was walking down on 4th street with my mom and daughter a few months ago and stumbled upon Cupcake clothing store and we decided to go in to take a peek. Than last month we decided to stopped again to look for dresses for my eight year old daughter. While shopping my daughter tried on a few dresses she loved but unfortunately none were in her size. So unfortunately we were not able to purchase anything again. This is our third time and we haven't had any luck on getting my daughter's size. However this place has such adorable beautiful clothes for girls and boys. Elegant and casual clothes. I was told sizes go up to size 12. The quality and designs are beautiful and it's worth the prices. The place is always organized and clean. We were hoping we would have better luck in finding her size this time around but unfortunately we did not. Parking it's a bit difficult being that it's downtown Santa Rosa. Store hours are Mon-Sat 10-6pm and Sunday's 12-5pm they have two stores Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. Until next time. Chao! read more

What a cute little boutique! The husband told me about this place trying to kill time while we waited in the line for Pliny the Younger. Yep, beer lovers with kids, check this place out! Haha... I walked in with my little ones in tow and felt a little out of place. It was nice and serene with some French music playing through the speakers... and then here come my two older kids, hopped up on sugar, running through the store with their footsteps all loud on the hard wood floors. Doh. Katie, the lovely lady working at the register, didn't mind at all. I found a sales rack in the back section of the store and started rummaging through the clothes. My son decided to climb into the jogging stroller they had on display while my back was turned. I heard footsteps walking towards our direction and noticed it was Katie walking over. I noticed where my little man was and panicked--you never know how the workers are going to react when they see kids playing on the merchandise. I started telling my kid to get out, but all Katie wanted was to make sure that the safety straps were secure so that the stroller wouldn't accidentally snap close with him inside of it. Whew. For a minute there, I was scared that I'd have to make a beeline out of the store because my kids were trying to burn off their energy, playing with the stroller. They "jogged" back and forth around the store because they liked hearing their footsteps, but then they discovered the play kitchen near the sales rack and immediately busied themselves with making imaginary cupcakes. Fine by me, I could shop in peace with my only well-behaved kid (who happens to be a baby and was fast asleep in the stroller). Cupcake has a lot of the higher end kid brands like Mustard Pie, NaNo, See Kai Run (kid shoes), TOMS, and majority of the clothes are from Tea Collection. Prices are more expensive (if you're used to JCP or Macy's, think Nordstrom range), but the clothes are definitely higher quality. They have some toys for sale as well in the middle of the store near the register. The very back end of the store has a maternity section with clothes from Maternal America, as well as Petunia Pickle diaper bags on display. You can find a variety of necklaces and bracelets from CHEWBEADS right next to the register. Ingenious, I tell you. I never thought that a company actually capitalized on the idea I'm sure many moms have of, "I wonder if there's a necklace I can wear that is safe for my baby to chew on?" I picked up a necklace for $20! They really are fashionable and they have almost every color of the rainbow. I also decided to pick up an amber teething necklace for my little one. I have heard of them and I know my sister RAVED about them when her daughter was teething, so I figured, why not? My kids never had a really tough time teething, but this was the first time I had ever seen them in person and being sold in a store. These necklaces are $20 as well. I learned that these necklaces aren't for babies to actually chew on... totally did not know that. Something about the energy from the oils helps soothe baby. The more you know moment right there. I picked up a couple Tea Collection items and my total was over $120. I was able to use my Yelp check in offer for $20 off $100. Hell yes. Lovely boutique, Katie was helpful and personable, play kitchen kept my kids busy but most importantly, quiet and out of the way! HAHA! read more

Based on the fact that the owner contacted me within hours of my review and her message is why I'll bump the review to four stars. Still, while I realize this is an uber trendy boutique geared for little tykes, it's expensive! Yes I am sure the top I saw was $65, it was a button down with a collar. Based on the owners comments, maybe it was the regular price that I saw. And I did see a pair of pants for a girl which was over $60. But, I suppose, if parents are wanting chic outfits for their kids, you have to be willing to drop that money on the gear. I must say, it's definitely one of the few places I can actually get trendy and name brand clothing for my son (or baby shower gifts). 5 stars for: Gorgeous pieces, *super* helpful and friendly service from Kaylin, beautiful store, and accommodating/easy exchange policy. After receiving a beautiful gift of dresses and bows from a friend, I realized that unfortunately I'd have to exchange three of the items since they weren't going to fit my little girl in time. The boutique is about 1.5 hours from our home, so we made a day of it in Petaluma/Santa Rosa. The store is ADORABLE and very kid-and-stroller-friendly since there's plenty of room to maneuver around and the little play area in the back to keep the kids occupied. The item assortment is high-quality, trendy, and beautiful; I had no problem finding things to exchange the gifts for! If that weren't enough...Kaylin went above and beyond while I was both in the store (so helpful and sweet!) and after. The next morning, I realized that I had exchanged for things that I had similar pieces to, I called, and she said I could actually mail back the pieces and they would email me a store credit to use on their website (so easy!). I've already made a wish list on their site. I just wish we lived closer to this adorable shop! read more

We stop by this beautiful and kid-friendly boutique every time we come through Santa Rosa. It's the perfect place to let my 3-year-old daughter play (in their epic play kitchen) while I inevitably find some completely precious and unique dress/coat/bow for her. This place is great since there isn't much in the way of maternity stores here in santa rosa. Anyone whose been pregnant knows that, while expensive, designer jeans tend to fit the best especially in those last few months. To the best of my knowledge Cupcake is the only place that sells designer maternity jeans, & I LOOOOVED mine!!! I also got a couple of nice elegant tops. NOT the place to shop if you are on a budget, however, their prices are a bit high. But I had some luck finding a few really elegant reasonably priced tops on their sale/clearance rack. This place is cute and quaint with a small selection of baby clothes, toys and maternity wear. Everything is quite expensive, you can get the same EXACT stuff at Nordstrom for cheaper but that's expected with a boutique store. But because of that though, I only look at this store, never buy. That could also be because I am from SF so I have access to the stuff for a better price but in Santa Rosa I would say that this is a good spot to get posh natal-neccessities! read more
