I'm a fan of Cabela's because it's a huge store with a big free parking lot outside and a whole lot of inventory inside. The indoor decor matches with the outside appearance, since Cabela's buildings all look they're humongous log cabins. As you walk inside, there's a big fireplace, with many comfy chairs to sit in while you wait for the outdoorsy-type person that you came with. Throughout the store, you'll see most of the outdoor gear that you could ever want. I could stay in this store forever, just looking at what they have to sell. The first thing we had to do was look at all of the taxidermied animals throughout the store. The biggest display was in the back, center of the store, which can be seen upon entering the store. Many animals are on display, so life-like that they look like they're going to move. If they do move, though, run, because these are animals you don't want to mess with in a store, like elk, moose, coyotes, badgers, bighorn sheep, mountain lions, bears, etc. Impressive antlers on many of the deer, elk and moose! So many other specimen displays are looking down at you as you shop through the store. We had to stop and look at the outerwear (jackets, coats) and other types of clothing. By the way, clothing for everyone of all ages is sold here. You just have to look in the right area - this place is huge! The outerwear here is good quality, mostly brand names, and the prices are very reasonable. The focus for clothing sold here is functional, not cutesy (unless it's primarily functional). They also sell Cabela and Bass Shop branded clothing, like t-shirts, hats and gloves, which are also quality-made and at very good prices. I also looked at many of the rod and reels, since I'm interested in fishing this year. Cabela's has so many fishing rod and reel combos to choose from that I got my usual analysis paralysis, so I'll do more research to pinpoint which combo would suit me the best. There are so many to choose from, at different price points and different construction. Later, I looked at fishing lures - again so many to choose from that I gave up. lol I went to the gun department, but I didn't see anything from the manufacturer that I like. They certainly carry a lot of various types of ammunition, though. As I was nearing the checkout lines toward the front of the store, I noticed a big candy display with packaged old fashioned hard candy in large baskets. I found a couple of flavors that I liked, so I bought a bag each of root beer and cinnamon. I'm definitely coming back to Cabela's once I decide what exactly I need for fishing! read more

Today I went in to purchase some new shirts, that was fine. When I went to checkout a young man approached and said before I checkout, he had a chance for me to win 25K. I said if this for a travel or trip I'm not interested . He said NAH it's not. After he took my name, email and information he tried to sail me a trip for $199. I told him I wasn't interested and then to make it worse his coworker asked WHY NOT, then she said $199 isn't much money I said it is if you don't have it and then I said I don't want too. Next time I need to shop at Cabela's I shop online or go to BPS in Chattanooga. Nothing wrong with asking a customer to signup for a card or some current offer, but not OK to lie or be deceptive. read more

I came out here to checking out some fishing gear. Never been fishing in my life...unless you count the time I went to some sea side place in Taiwan and caught a dead fish. (No offense but that fish probably died from all the pollution in our ocean) Everything I know about fishing I learned from watching Duck Dynasty. You need a boat, a fishing hook, one of those long sticks and some worm. Oh you need a boat and a lake....how am I doing? So I guess not only do I not know what I'm talking about I also look lost. But luckily I came to Cabela's. They helped me out and showed me all this stuff that you can get when you go fishing. Personally I like the fishing vests. It makes me look like Richard Dreyfuss in "What about Bob" I'll be doing a little more investigating before I make my final purchase. Glad I came by the place. There are 3 words you need to know as soon as you walk in the door NO THANK YOU. You will need to continue to use these 3 words throughout your entire visit IF you speak with an employee because they PUSH their credit card with everything they have and I think we all KNOW a CC is NOT your friend. And don't start telling me about points you earn. In June we attended an event here and I ended up writing a letter to one of the Managers Robert Lionetti just telling him how we enjoyed our time but the event was not organized. He returned my email with a TY and the offer to send me a gift card. I had asked for nothing. A few weeks later there was still no gift card so I emailed and relayed that info. CRICKETS. A few weeks later I called and left Mr Lionetti a VM. Still CRICKETS. Another few weeks and another and same thing. CRICKETS I then called and spoke with Gilda who made me feel like a valued customer and promised me I'd receive a call within 4 days. Guess what? CRICKETS. Fast forward and my kids get their father a Cabelas gift card. Well at this point I'm just not wanting to spend a dime there but we do wanna use the gift card so we drive up. It's now September. I tell my husband I'm getting that gift card now just for the principle of the matter. We walk in and I ask for Mr Lionetti who by an act of god is there. He comes down and asks me for a reminder which as you can imagine I certainly have. He turns to the lady who approached with him and says it must have gotten lost in the mail which I know definitely could have happened but a returned phone call would have been nice and I did let him know this. Lis took care of the gift card for me and I suspect she's the gift card distributor. So why did they not send my phone calls to her to begin? Hmm. Anyway our interaction in the shoe department and with the cashier was excellent after we got past another group trying to stop us for some travel offer they have The store is well stocked and fun to be in. DO NOT BUY THIS GENERATOR FROM CABELA'S I purchased the Cabelas Outdoorsman Series 5000W/4000W Dual fuel generator SKU 2951861 brand new from Cabela's and it didnt work properly. I followed the instructions by putting the oil in, hooking up the battery and using two different brand new propane tanks. The display would not work and it couldnt take a single load, just kept shutting off. The generator has a 3 year warranty so I tried to exchange for another one and Cabela's said since it's been over 60 days I have to go through Corporate. I called Corporate and they told me to call Champion. I Shouldnt have to jump through all these extra hoops especially since the 60 day policy is not printed anywhere on the receipt. Cabela's is not treating their customers right and I will never shop here again! read more

Employee in the gun section told me Walmart sells ammo to terrorists, which is complete bullshit. I pointed out that no identification other than proof of age or background check is needed to buy ammo from anyone, including Cabella's, so no store has any idea who is buying ammo. He just repeated that Walmart was caught selling ammo to terrorists. He went on with his political diatribe to refer to President Biden as President Bin Laden. That's when I told him I'd heard enough and left the store. On the way out I complained to the manager who confirmed that the employee was way to of line and apologized. Great Cabellas as I was traveling through. I was in town for business and on my way home on the Interstate I saw a new Cabellas that I have never seen before. I missed the exit, so I went down to the next and made my way back. This was a great surprise as I will stop by here again as it is in a convenient location just north of Kennesaw. I went on a Monday night which is great for a customer like me because there seem to be 10 workers per customer. So I could easily get waited on if I needed to. I wondered aimlessly through this store like a kid looking at toys everywhere wishing I could buy almost everything. They have lots of guns in here too. They even have tractors outside you can buy. They were small but look like they could do yard work or maybe level a yard. There's plenty of parking too as I saw a place that looked like where 18 wheelers could park in a dirt area. I saw one over there and he looked like he was using it as a rest area for the night. I got great customer service here as I could find help whenever I needed it. The cafe they have in was closed. But, they opened it up just for me to buy some coffee and a cookie( see pics). read more

This is a cool place for outdoor gear and makes for great shopping. I specifically want to shout out their hard work for Christmas and Santa pictures that they do for free. I loved being able to bring my dog here to get her pic with Santa and it's such a cool place with crafts and games for kids in the winter wonderland. Lots of photo ops and lots of activities. We went at 12 on a Sunday and there wasn't a line. Great place for Santa pics. read more

Went to jump on the band-wagon and get a 6.5 Creedmoor hunting rifle. I had done a ton of research online but was still between 2-3 models. I lucked out and got Brandon at the gun counter who had a wealth of information and guided me through making the best selection. He was equally helpful guiding me to select the best scope I could afford within my budget, allowing me to try several different models before making a decision. As other reviewers have mentioned, you do have to take a number and wait for a while before getting to the counter. However, since gun purchases are non-returnable, the expert guidance they provide is worth the wait to ensure your hard-earned dollars are spent wisely. read more

I placed an order to be shipped to the store. It only took about three days for it to arrive at the store. Got the delivery email this morning. None hours later still no email saying it was ready for pick up. When I called and asked how long it takes I was told a day or two. That's ridiculous. Cabela's has virtually everything you need to be successful in the wilderness. Need a tent? They have it. How about clothing that makes you look like you know what you are doing? Got that too. Rods, reels, guns, rifles, bows and arrows... even sling shots are available. You can tour of the store and be tempted by everything or you can order online which is just what I did. I needed a rod and reel by March 11. The ad said order by 4 o'clock and you can have it on March 10 that was perfect - well it was perfect until the rod wasn't delivered until March 15 and I was already fishing elsewhere. So here's my tip if you don't need something immediately order online. If you want a thrill of temptation, go to the store, or look at all their online products, and make a decision about how much you want to spend. read more

On 9/21/21 I wrote a one star review because of lack of communication on Cabela's part. I have since learned that all communications were down for most Cabela's and that is why I was not receiving return phone calls or emails. Once communications were back available Dillen and his crew got a hold of me right away and did a phenomenal job answering all my questions and sent my rifle across the United States to the destination I could receive it at. At the final destination, I had outstanding customer service as well. I am now a proud owner of a beautiful rifle thanks to Dillen and his crew. I will not hesitate to buy from Cabela's again. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. 1.5 hours waiting at the gun counter to see a firearm; then, move to the firearm check out where you wait another 1.5-2 hours while people that came after you go ahead of you left and right. Great place for outdoors and related stuff. I mostly visit here to buy boat and water related items, but they have a lot of different things. The staff is generally always friendly and will help you out and walk you to where something is as opposed to just pointing in a general direction. So I'm coming on here to say that I had a terrible experience here a few weeks ago. Maybe I am expecting too much from a outdoors store in Acworth, but I really felt like some of the employees here were racist by my experience, and if not racist, definitely a few "Karens" working there. I was referred to go here from Dick's when they were out of paddles for Kayaks. We called before we got in and the person on the phone was helpful to tell us what they had in stock. When we got there, it was a different story. First we couldn't find the paddles and had to hunt someone down that worked there to help. Then they didn't really know much about the paddles or when they would get more in stock or the sizes or anything. Not a big deal, I had done my own research. I decided to purchase one so I went to the front and was helped by an older lady. I asked her what the return policy was as the paddle I was getting was a little too big for me based on the charts, and asked if I could return it if it was too long. She kept saying she didn't know. I said you don't know if I can return it? She said, well I've never been asked that question, so I don't know (with an attitude). I thought it was a weird answer, but whatever, she was older, so I let it slide and figured that I would take my chances. Then I went to put it in my car and my sister had pulled into the curbside section so I could load it in the car easily without creating congestion in the front of the store. Mind you there was NO ONE in like 6 spots that were open at curbside, so I wasn't taking away any spots from anyone. As I was trying to load it in the car, and was clearly having trouble to because of the long length, someone pulled up into one of the other curbside parking spaces. They were helped by a blonde lady who then comes up to me after helping them, and asks if I have a curbside order. I let her know I did not, and that I was just trying to load what I had just purchased into the car- mind you I'm literally bent over trying to fit it in the car and she could see I was struggling and that I had just bought something from the store, and she goes- well you know this is curbside pickup right? You're not supposed to park here. I said yes I know, but I thought this would be better than being parked up front and causing traffic on the road people drive on, and there is literally no one in these spaces. She sighed and said it again as she walked away that these are meant for curbside call in in a rude manner. While I understand that the spaces were for curbside, I could have easily purchased the dang paddle online and it would be the same thing. I had clearly made a purchase and gave this place business and had two encounters back-to-back with these ladies. While everyone else who had on camoflauge and fishing type outfits got treated like royalty, the brown girl got treated like this. I was pretty upset about it once I got home, so I decided not to even give them my business and returned it. I won't ever return to this store again. PS- my family and I just gave thousands of dollars purchasing things from a few other outdoors stores nearby, so it really and literally is their loss. read more

COOL AND FUNCTIONAL, I LIKE THAT! This store is really beautiful and I just love the entry which is just so warm and inviting. As I entered today, I was greeted by two upholstered chairs and a roaring fire in the fireplace. I decided to park here for a while before going on to explore the store. It was very comfortable and cozy. I love that it is the first area you counter when you enter the store and it is adjacent to the restrooms so you can handle your business before you start shopping. If you need anything related to hunting, camping or fishing this is the ultimate store. In addition to supplies and accessories, they can also outfit you from head to toe (camo, shirts, shoes, zip-off pants). I am a big fan of the Columbia brand which is a great manufacturer of functional and comfortable clothes for men and women. There was great customer service at this location and my husband was able to find everything that he needed. The decor in this store is very cool and very interesting with a lot of taxidermy and interesting scenes. I first encountered Cabela's when I visited South Carolina, but I don't recall that store being outfitted in this way which makes me think that each store has its own unique personality in terms of decor. I love the camping department because camping has come a long way and I love the cooking accessories, such as the fish cleaning table with a faucet, stoves, cookware. You no longer have to sleep on the ground unless this is what you prefer because they have mattresses and cots available. I am actually at the point of considering camping this spring! If I get all of the amenities that will make me feel comfortable and competent, I'm in! ***Men, if you have to drag your woman to the outdoors store, this is how you do it! read more

What a lousy, p*ss-poor experience. Their customer service in the last year has taken a nose-dive. Went to the archery department, the salespersons are curt, nasty, and unhelpful. The shelves are almost empty, barely any supplies and heaven-forbid you try to ask questions. I was not the only frustrated customer. I will not be shopping here ever again - way too many other better-priced local stores with better customer service. I stopped in here today when I was on the way to Redtop Mountain. I was able to find the items I was looking for to convert my lightweight salt water rigs over to bottom fish for catfish. Overall a decent experience. I did find local knowledge of the water to be lacking when i was speaking to both the individual in the reel counter and the cashier. I miss the small local shops that could tell you where the honey holes were and what was biting that day! read more

Excellent experience here today. I have a rather larger dog who can be spastic when experiencing new things (she's 2 year old Catahoula. If you know, you know.). It was raining and we had planned to hike today. We stopped in to grab an out layer for my jacket (which never was used because it stopped raining as we parked, figures!). Knowing this would take more than 2 or 3 minutes, I brought Pollock, the Catahoula, into the store with me. Immediately, she went into scent mode was zig zagging down the isles. Despite this, I was able to have an employee show me where the coats were, inform me of pricing, suggest an alternative, and show me where the alternative was within the store. He also was kind enough to pet and notice Pollock. Even more impressive: the stocking associate. Right next to the rain jackets, an associate was restocking the display. I apologized to her, as Pollock was a bit frantic with excitement. She said she didn't mind, and inquired about the origin of the name Pollock. I explained it to her, and went on about my way. I thought it was nice of her to stop was she was doing to ask about my dog (because I am a proud Fur Dad). The associate at the point of sale was most helpful. I mentioned I was grabbing the jacket because Pollock and I were headed to the woods. He offered to cut the tags off of the jacket for me. When he realized he had no scissors, he produced a pocket knife and snipped them right off. He also told Pollock and I to "stay dry out there", which I greatly appreciated. Point and case -- the employees of this establish seem to care about their clientele, and the experience when choosing to shop here. 5/5 for 3 consecutive employees going above and beyond. Also 5/5 on clothing pricing. 42 bucks for a Columbia (including rounding up a few cents for the Wild Life donation) is a steal. Great stuff. -N read more

I received an mail on a big sale, so I marked off several things I was interested in. You can order from the nationwide mail order place OR click to check availability in store. Many were out, several said limited availability at this store. I know limited is uncertain, but the prices were good as there were cold weather closeout items I presume. Hmmmm 60 miles round trip. Would it be worth it?? I hate to order clothing from mail order as so much of it has to be returned. You dont like the cut, the material, some other feature...and then the sizing! So I decided to drive. If I saw one even if a different size and I liked it I could go home and order and pay the shipping fee. Well I get to the store and look around. Of several items I only find the underwear and the ones in my size of limited availability were not available. Many of the items were a variety of top/pants/etc of a line called "Weatherproof® Men's Heat Last". There isnt even an empty rack. I go round and round looking for ANYONE to help but for a good 10 minutes there is nobody anywhere! I finally get a guy in the wrong area and he radios and silence. He does walk the store with me calling and looking for someone in clothing. FINALLY we locate a gal. Without a sku # they have no idea what your talking about and cant pull it up. I show her the printout with names and little pics of the products. I said I have covered the entire area and dont even find empty racks of any of this. Do you recall ever seeing anything like this in the store???? She says no...I dont recall seeing ANY of that Heat Last stuff ever. I asked why would it say limited inventory and she says probably just to keep it in our inventory online, or keep it on the list or something like that. That doesnt do the customer any good as its just misleading. Well about 2 hours and 60 miles wasted. Had they been there it could have been worth it. You just dont know unless you try but the system here seems flawed and consumer unfriendly. read more

Customer service: 5 stars : when we walked in we were awed like oooooh oooh look at all this! I zoomed in on the deli because I was hungry. He was looking around for the gun section. We both found what we wanted because a cute, little, friendly Caucasian lady showed us where to go and gave us a brief tour explaining where departments were. Gun counter wait: 2 stars : you pull a number and wait for your number to be called. Seems cool right? WRONG!!! not on 12-3-16 a Saturday night when you have people who are actually here to drop coin and those who just want to look around and play. We waited 40 minutes before our number was called. A couple of other waiting patrons who wanted to drop coin like us grew impatient with the wait. They complained, some young girl assisted us. She was friendly and fast! So being it was only 3 men arming the counter and their time was being taken up by looky lou's was rather annoying. Is that cabela's fault? Yes!!! I say yes because they make the schedule, its a holiday weekend. They know people window shop and other people come with a sense of purpose to spend! We dont window shop. Cabela's needs to Have at least 6 people working that counter so those who want to spend money, can get the hell outta dodge and those who want to look and play can do them. If I didn't have that chicken sandwich from wendys before we came here I would've been raging at the wait time. Cleanliness/organization: 5 stars : the store is very organized and asthetic! Very pleasing to the eye unlike adventure outdoors in smyrna,ga. Overall experience: 4 stars : I enjoyed my visit. It was my first time here. They offer a variety of services like hand gun training and learning how to use a bow and arrow. It's worth checking out if fishing, hunting, surviving, and being an outdoor enthusiast is your thing! Love this store! I've been buying from Cabelas ever since I could only order items from their magazine. Since opening, I've bought more than 15 guns from this store. The service never disappoints and they usually have a really large inventory of ammo and firearms. Sometimes the gun counter can get insanely busy, which can lead to you waiting a long time. However, the staff does its very best to help things move along as quickly as possible. Love the Acworth Cabelas and will continue to come here for my outdoor and firearm needs. read more

I'd been looking for hiking boots and socks on this trip and had been shopping elsewhere. While I was delighted at their inventory selection, it was wide not deep. That is, they had lots of boots to choose from but did not have much in the way of sizes and I had to settle for my fifth choice. The prices where good compared to their competitors, so I was content with my final purchase. Their sock selection was much better, as was their other goods, so shoes seem to be their weak spot. read more
