On Wednesday, I ordered three life vests for an upcoming fishing trip with my son's on Monday. I payed the extra shipping fee to overnight them to me. The next day I get one vest, so I called them and was told one style was out of stock. So I upgraded it to a more expensive vest, and was told it would be rushed to me and be here by Friday. When I didn't get the vests on Friday I called and was told that I would have them by Tuesday. (A day after the trip) So I tried to cancel the order and get a refund and was told there was nothing they could do until they get here and I send them back. Lazy, Uninterested sales people. We went to inquire about a rifle. There were a few people in the department with 5 sales people. We waited by the rifles while one person was helping clients. The other 4 were in in the handgun section. Two salesmen were hanging out, but I figured they must be helping someone. After 20 minutes waiting, I asked when someone would be available. I was told they aren't with anyone and what did I need. We asked why nobody could greet us, give us an estimate of a wait or let us know they are free to help. Their response was to take a number; the number dispenser was empty. Ultimately we left to do business somewhere else. read more

My experience: I call them up looking for a particular Leupold rifle scope. After 20 minutes or so on the line with encouragement from me, the employee (A) finally has the last one in inventory in his hand and says that he will put my name on it and put it on the counter for me, he also takes my phone number and admonished me that it will indeed go back into inventory if I do not pick it up that day. Cut to me pulling in the parking lot (after driving 30 minutes just for this one scope) at the store and receiving a call that my daughter has been injured at school. Oh boy, I am here so I will run In and get it. Get to the gun and scope counter and one employee (B) is working with another customer. No acknowledgement on the employee's part that I exist. I wait 5-8 minutes until the employee looks up after breaking with the customer he was working with. I explain that employee (A) has set a scope out for me and time is of the essence at this moment. He disappears after looking around the front counter with me for 5 minutes to no avail. He is going to find employee (A) and find out where the scope is located. After 8 more minutes he returns, and declares that employee (A) has never heard of me. I am already headed for the door while saying "we are done". Employee (B) says he will keep looking for it. Does it matter at this point? Such wretched customer service; I spent 20 minutes in that store to try and get something that was supposed to be reserved for me. Do what I am going to do and order whatever product you need off of Amazon Prime and save your self the time, money, expense, and aggravation of going to a big box retailer who does not care about you. read more

I went to the Acworth, Ga. location the 3rd week of turkey season to purchase a box of 3" shotgun shells and a new pair of camouflage gloves. To my surprise, there were no available boxes of turkey loads in 3" shells. Then, I asked a lady where the camouflage gloves were and she informed me they get a limited supply of gloves in and usually sell out the same day. I am disappointed that they had not replenished their shelves with turkey load shells in the middle of turkey season but more disappointed that a hunting store would not keep a stock of camouflage gloves! read more

I had a great experience visiting your store. I was very impressed with the displays mounted all around the walls. I felt as if I stepped into a natural museum. Great work!! But, I'm not here to talk about your store displays or even the items in it. But, about the quality of employees that are working with such a great attitude. I went to check some fishing poles and a young man named Sam was there to help me out. I was very impressed with the professional and positive attitude he displayed while sharing his knowledge and helpful information with me. Then, I came across Kim. Wow!! Same experience. I just had to mentioned these two employees to one of your supervisors. The second you walk into the Acworth location, you are accosted by employees wanting you to sign up for their credit card. The only place to hide from them is the bathroom. Previously, hoping that they would leave me alone, I succumbed to their wishes and got their Visa card. Now they bugged me about getting another Visa card. On one of my visits there, I attempted to use it and was embarrassingly turned down. They told the card was not good any more since they had switched (without letting me know) to MasterCard. I went to their Customer Service and my protest fell into deaf ears. So I refused their MasterCard, returned the merchandise, and here I am letting them know how disgusted I am with them. read more

My first and last experience with this store occurred today. Their staff was extremely difficult to work with and quite frankly provided some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They did not attempt to handle my matter in a professional way and did not attempt to provide any level of acceptable assistance to help me with what needed. I bought a 60qt cooking pot for a propane burner for $130. I had to drive an hour to get to the store. When I made it home and unboxed it the pot and lid were dented and the pot was oblong at the top so the lid wouldn't fit. There was no physical damage to the box so I can't really put blame on the store. I left feedback via the receipt. I was contacted by the store manager, Earl, to come back for a replacement. Not only did they refund the full amount, they replaced with a new one for FREE +$50 gift card. That is nearly the best customer service you can get. Thanks Earl. read more

I was looking for anti fog for my glasses for a motorcycle ride. I found Cabela's had an anti fog online, so I checked the website to see if it was in stock and it was at the Acworth store. My wife was heading back from Atlanta so I asked her to stop and get it for me. She got shuffled between four departments only to be finally told it wasn't in stock. So now I will have to hear about me sending my wife to Cabela's for no reason for the next who knows how long. This after I did my due diligence and verified it was in stock on the web page. Today I attempted to make a purchase at Cabelas and left empty handed. I gave myself an hour, figuring I might need a little extra time. After an hour and a half, I was standing at the checkout, waiting to pay. Sadly, I had an appointment, and had to leave before Cabelas could complete the transaction. When I first walked in, there was a foreboding I'd be in trouble. Two employees behind the desk were on the phone with a customer. After about 15 minutes of back and forth on the phone, one of the employees said to the other, "hey, help him while I deal with this". Apparently the stores phone lines had lost the ability to transfer customers to different departments. I asked for a specific item and (after searching the computer for 10 minutes)'was told the item was in stock, but they'd have to get it for me....10 more minutes. Not at all surprised, the item they handed me was the wrong one. Things didn't get any better from there. The store itself was very nice..and they had plenty of employees standing around. I only saw 4 other customers during my visit. I was stuck in traffic getting to and coming from this location. This was my 1st and last visit to Cabelas. read more

Drove by for grand opening, couldn't even get in the parking lot & traffic was a mess. Turned around and left. Didn't appear they were prepared for the big opening. Also while waiting in traffic noticed people walking out weren't carrying much so either they didn't have any deals or have many give-aways. I went to the Acworth Georgia store this morning (3/14/15) and arrived at five after eight o'clock. I went directly to the gun ammunition department to purchase a sale item. It was sold out already after five minutes. The small shelf where the employee showed me where it was could not have held more than ten boxes. Of course all the other caliber ammo had five times more displayed. I asked for the general manager and his attitude was pretty much tough luck. He did not ask or even try to help. I could tell he did not care one bit about my concern. I feel this was a typical retail store putting out a small amount of a sale item to try and sell a more expensive item. I'm giving this 2 stars because every time I've been here the staff were rude and disinterested. Today, my husband bought a new scope from them and wanted to get it installed on his Browning. He gave his gun and new scope to the employee behind the gun counter and told him it would be done in 10-15 minutes. Well we walked around twiddling our thumbs and never saw the guy again after returning several times. Finally tracked someone down (after already waiting 45 mins) and turns out our gun had been ready. The employee said "yea, been ready for a while now. It's at the gun check out center"(or whatever they call it). Then he was picking through the guns, "is this one yours?", "what about this one?". Arg! Just so frustrating. They never took down our name or anything and NEVER told us to wait at the gun check out area and didn't even know which gun was ours. Anyone could walk up and say " yeah sure that's my gun" and then YOUR gun is long gone. Just plain unprofessional and we wont be back! Oh and they have a "dog kennel", but there's no one there managing it, you have to bring your own water, bowl and lock and its out in the blazing sun! Plant some trees or something.... read more

Pretty cool place - Very similar to Bass Pro Shop except only one story.

The store is beautiful inside. I admit it. But unless you catch a half way decent sale go to Academy Sports. There's only one reason this store is so close to the interstate hwy. And that is so they can catch unsuspecting tourists that may not be familiar with Academy. Prices are through the roof. And as one reviewer already mentioned their prices for firearms are flat out ridiculous!!!! I've seen their gun prices as much as 50% more than some online gun prices. And there are multiple stores in the area that do free FFL transfers. Go to Academy or Dicks (if your item is on sale). read more

Just purchased a hunting rifle and added scope to it. Selection of gun was made only Sales guy had trouble staying focused on us with so many customers waiting. Then then they tell you to pay for/pick up at the "gun pickup center"....where you walk up and there is NO clue what you are suppose to do next - no signs, no one acknowledging you. At this point I figure there are 3-4 in line ahead of me. After 10 -15 minutes I saw someone holding a device that would vibrate when your turn...only NO ONE behind the counter told you we needed one. So you randomly walk up to the counter and try to grab someones attention to see how to get one. One hour+ later my device goes off, spend 20 + mins with paperwork, purchase and making arrangements for them to install the scope. I am told it will only take a few minutes. Handed another device. One hr + minutes later, and after I realize my device died and had to grab another (again trying to get their attention to advise battery died), scope and rifle are ready. In all.....spent THREE (yes 3...3...3) hours to purchase a rifle and had scope added. INEFFICIENT CHECKOUT. They need a streamlined way to walk up, grab a number or device, getting checked in ....and quicker turn around. No excuse for 3 hours. Come on Cabelas...rise above your competition and do better than this! This is an area where you should shine and make the shopping/purchase experience so much better than we had....and heard plenty of frustration from others stuck in same situation. So, we get to the gun counter and take a number to be waited on. We wait about 10to 15 minutes for our turn. No problem the store is crowded and that's ok. The employee starts helping us and is taking out guns for us to check out. We ask to see one in a different case and walk a few feet away to wait for employee to come over. On the way over he stops in front of ANOTHER customer who is being helped by another employee and starts chatting away. We wait 3 minutes and he's still over there helping the other customer while we're just standing there staring at him. Piss poor customer service. We find a manager and explain. But really what's the point? Won't go back, I'll spend my money at LLBean, Dicks, Nordstrom etc. read more

Easily the MOST disappointing experience at a store I've ever had. First off, I will never purchase an item at this store because of this experience. A flyer was sent out for "door buster" sales. It listed a brand of air mattress with a wide range of prices and the discounted prices. I went a week before the sale (which was my fault and decided to come back because it was a good deal). So I show up day of the deal at 8am when it opens, because they only had 8 in stock a week before and was told it was while supplies last. Show up today and only 3 items of this brand are on sale! It had nothing to do with the prices range and the brand LIKE THE FLYER SAID. And the employee said they have misleading things like this happen all the time! Like how embarrassing for a company this size. Spend your money else where. read more

My macho macho viejo took me here after a PT filled morning of Oorahing, mount dismount, a PFT and then eating our fill at Henrys. This place is like a candy shoppe for a manly man. It's a respite for the eager beaver fisher. A safe haven for the outdoors person from 6 months to older. They have outdoor gear for toddlers, kids, and adult. The have the little deer decals l like like Browning and guns, and animal things, and everything you could possibly want to do everything outside from cooking, to camping to frying to grilling. I was delighted. .. it was as if we'd died and fell into outdoors heaven. I love this place. It's huge it's clean it's new and it's worth driving from the east side all the way to never never land (Acworth) for. I guess now my visits have to include Henry then Cabelas. read more

Worst customer service ever in the archery department. Came in to find arrows for our 10 year old granddaughter. The associate was a jerk! We brought our bow in so we could make sure we were buying the correct arrows. The first thing the associate said to my husband was, "don't draw that bow back" What the hell? 1st of all, why would we do that? He was rude, unknowledgeable and made us feel like what we needed was insignificant and not worth his time. Way to go Tommy! Because of you, we will never set foot in Cabela's again. And we will tell anyone who is willing to stand still long enough to listen, to NEVER ever shop at Cabela's! The 1 star is only because I had to select it, in order to post this review. Stopped by to see what all the hubbub was about after having been a mail-order customer. The store reminded me a lot of Bass Pro Shops, so it didn't really amaze me. Prices seemed on the higher end. There's a snack bar with game-y food (bison, etc.). Worth a trip to check out or for something you need now and can't wait to order online (if it's stocked). read more

One of the first times I wish I could give a negative review! Seriously bad customer service in this store and we drove over an hour for it, sadly. Should have stoped at all the other sports stores we passed along the way but had to pick up an order from online that they called to tell us was in...after over 45 MINUTES waiting we were informed it was on backorder...what?!? Okay, now we have to stay calm because it was a fire arm so wouldn't want to go postal over that type of purchase but seriously, over an hour to tell us "whoopsie, we can't find it and it looks like it's on backorder but we see where we called you to let you know it was in." Ummm, no, just no. So sad that this store is so lacking in customer service. As we waited I actually felt bad for others in the store waiting as long as us just to look at a gun, that is absurd. Thank God everyone there was level headed considering the items being shopped for but one can see how it would be easy to get mad around these employees. Finally, after investing 2 total hours of our lives in the actual store a manager figured out what to do but it never should come to this point of aggravation, never. read more

The archery department manager, Zach is very knowledgable and helpful! His colleagues Bill & Doug are top notch archers and very helpful to have in the archery department! Ask Doug to show you a pic of the whopping 400lb bear he harvested! I am an avid hunter and can spot "posers" a mile away. Went to Cabela's today there website said they were open till 9 pm. I arrived at 645 and they were closed.bad advertising and bad business. I had. I drove one hour to get here. That really was a bad decision on there part to close. I was told the manager decided to close early. read more
