If you are looking for a place where you can spend an afternoon in a family friendly environment and you like perusing museums, then this Cabelas in Buda, Texas is the perfect place to go to this summer. They have the equivalent of 4 areas that are like 3 museums and an aquarium, You and your family or significant other are also going to enjoy this in an air conditioned environment. Wë have been to this store on more than one occasion just to walk through the different exhibits that have on display. There is an African safari themed area, an aquarium you can sit and enjoy, an arctic type display and a Texas wildlife area )which is the largest display). There is no cost to visit the display areas as they are art of the store. Come enjoy a worthwhile afternoon! I am including pictures for your review, but there's nothing like seeing it up close and personal.

    Thanks for the help. Not!

One star for the entertaining location in Buda. There's a great selection of camping, hunting, and hiking items there, as well as a taxidermy collection and gun 'museum' on site. That's about all the good I can say about this place. Prices range from average to expensive, service is non-existent, and their online ordering system is a mess. Had to cancel an order, which resulted in a three-day wait followed by the email in the attached picture telling me to call a number. As other reviewers have noted, good luck in getting anyone to pick up. Sorry, Cabella's - I'm taking my money elsewhere.

This is one of the larger stores that I've been to. There are a mountain of stuffed and mounted animals on display. There is pretty much everything you could think of in the way of hunting and camping gear. It's a large store with an actual tunnel you can walk through to see a variety of fish. This is always a fun little walk. We found a pair of jeans for super cheap and the staff was attentive. Parking was easy. It's a fun walk even if you're not there to buy anything.

My husband grew up fishing and hunting so it's in his blood. Needless to say upon moving to Austin, he stumbled across this gem thanks to his work buddies. Hubby insisted I come along next time he needed to pick up a few things. Lo and behold, upon arrival, you'll notice a massive structure. Don't worry - there's plenty of parking. I was impressed by the store's layout but most importantly, the gorgeous displays of nature (mostly staged stuffed animals), its very own waterfall and beautiful fish tanks. These features provide a unique shopping experience to this charming store. It's definitely worth a visit!

If hunting and fishing is what you like then this place is for you. But otherwise there are lots to see here to enjoy or shop. Cabela's has fun activities for the kids like seeing fish in tanks, fish feeding, and exploring the huge taxidermy collection of a wide range of animals. There is even a restaurant on the second level serving bbq and other items. Many outdoor other products are sold here from camping, apparel, boating and shoes. The product quality seems to be good and prices vary but competitive. It's a great activity scene to bring the family for part of the day to be entertained and purchased an outdoor item.

So my husband and friends like going to Cabela's for their guns and certain sports stuff. This Cabela's in Buda was one of the biggest stores I have been to! Oh and Buda is sounded like 'Beuda' by the locals. Weird how they pronounce words, right? There was plenty of parking for this Cabela's. Everything looks all big around here. They do have a lot to sell of everything or one of everything like they sell a whole section of fishing equipment. They had a large section for discounted clothing. Staff was welcoming and nice. They have an animal museum and aquarium within the store. If you are not into sports and in the area, I would visit this store for the museum and aquarium. I really enjoyed myself here. [15th/100]

The DA/SA are so much lighter and crisper. I have Cajunized one myself, so I know what is involved. It is surprisingly hard to find gunsmiths with experience Cajunizing, or with CZs in general. I guess it makes sense, they are far less common than Glocks, M&Ps, etc. I have had smiths tell me they do not work on CZs, or they say "we can do that, we'll figure it out," which is not comforting. Each time I came in, the associate at the counter brought me to talk to a gunsmith. He knew the order the parts go back in, that some jobs like the mag release are easier when everything is already apart, and that you have to remove the front sight pin to replace the barrel bushing. The sear cage is a nightmare to get back together, so I'm happy to outsource it. It's clear they do a bunch of them here, so it takes less time than me installing it or a smith doing it for the first time.

We attended their free Saturday class on introduction to fly fishing which included hands-on casting instruction and tips on where to fish, tackle to use and solid common sense conservation information. Living Waters conducts countless classes free to any and all who register. These classes are in part funded by federal or state grants awarded to qualifying organizations that DO NOT CHARGE for the classes. This is like gold for newbies like me. Inasmuch as I apparently like to decorate riverside trees with colorful flies, they have sold me countless flies to replace them. Once when I broke the tip of my 5 weight 9 ft TFO rod, they partnered with the rod manufacturer and arranged for a replacement tip to be on hand at Living Waters when we were passing thru Round Rock to go fishing on the San Marcos. Thank you TFO and Living Waters!!! I recently went on a guided float trip on the Llano River with guides Jim and KC lost count of the fish I caught and released and among those, countless Rios, which I LOVE to hook and fight. I am in a lather to float the Llano with them again as soon as they arrange another trip. (I've asked them to grant me first right of refusal because I'm so special!!!!).
