Trying to decide if it is too generous. We've shopped here a bit over the years and this time was less than satisfying. Their communication is horrible. We ordered a couple lights. One did not match the other and it cost us $125 to return it. We bought a replacement for the return for less than the fee to return the original. Nobody should be charging fees to return things like that. Then the cabinets, though we love how they look were quite a pain. We went into order them and the original lady that we talk to was on vacation so the other lady was gonna come measure. She talked to the original lady and wouldn't come because the original lady wanted to do it. I guess because she wanted the commission to herself I don't know which delayed us by a week we were told we could rush the order and probably get it in 3 to 4 cause it usually takes five weeks when the order is finally submitted, they quoted seven weeks they pulled that in to five weeks, but measured wrong, which took a couple weeks to rebuild the cabinet. So the original five weeks has really been closer to 10 weeks when all is said and done. We never got status updates. I kept having to contact them. They really could work on their customer service. I also have since found that I could've had the cabinets custom made for about half the price. read more

We went to Cabinet and Lighting Supply to look for kitchen cabinets for our new build. The store has many kitchens set up with different cabinets so you can get a feel for the quality. On our first visit Don introduced himself to us and then let us go about looking at all the cabinets. We came back several times and each time Don checked in with us and answered questions. Don was patient, knowledgeable, and professional. After we ordered the cabinets, Don touched base with us to let us know how the order was going, when they arrived and set up delivery date. The sales associate took his time with us, looking at what was available in the store and in the catalog. He provided us with a couple options that met our needs and we were on our way. In times of slowed supply chains, they beat their original estimate of when it would be available, and while it took some time, they delivered BEFORE their originally estimated date. But the most important thing is the quality of the cabinet. Our contractor noted that it was the finest cabinet and most straightforward installation of a complex cabinet he had seen -- and he is well-known and experienced. Ordered door handles / kitchen cabinet hardware and not only did the order take forever and was just sitting there for a week (although associates claim they left a singular voicemail) it was actually shipped from Amazon. I could have ordered door handles from Amazon myself and saved myself the trouble of having to go back and forth to the store multiple rounds. Plus they left out ALL of the screws for the handles. How am I supposed to attach door handles without screws? Now I have to make yet another visit and pick up screws for handles that should have been packaged together in the first place? If you think you're getting any sort of remorse or apology from customer service- forget it- they just provide excuses for their ineptitude and act like it's no big deal to make you travel back and forth. Save yourself the time, trouble and additional markup and just order on Amazon. You won't find quality or service here. read more

Over the last two years I have bought quite a few light fixtures and ceiling fans at cabinet lighting and have been satisfied with the quality and look of these products. There was a problem with a ceiling fan but it was quickly resolved to my satisfaction and very professionally. Their prices are pretty competitive with the big box stores and their personnel know a lot about lighting. We are remodeling our new home in Gardnerville and have visited several lighting stores in Reno with no success. Specifically, one in midtown was just overwhelming, and we were offered no assistance. I ended up ordering all of my fixtures online, and sure enough the entry way light wasnt a good fit, and the contractor was ready to install. I wish I had discovered C&L earlier. Immediately upon entering we were greeted by two lovely ladies. Mindy took the lead and showed us to the exact type of light we needed. She was very kind and knowledgeable. I went into the S. Virginia store before the Covid Pandemic. I was interested in speaking to someone about a bathroom vanity. I wandered the store for about 15 minutes and no one acknowledged my presence. I finally got the attention of a gal at the back desk. I told her what I wanted and she found someone in the back to come out and talk to me. The salesman said that I would need to make an appointment (7-10 days out) and return at that time. He also said that custom cabinets would take several months to build. I found the staff to have an air of pretentiousness. Certainly not showing any desire to help. read more

Mike has no clue what he's talking about and the item he sold me (and ordered) turned out to be the wrong item after he assured me that it was a self-contained unit. Complete refund. Lost me as a repeat customer. As a retired contractor, I won't deal with incompetence. As for the lack of stock, just order on line. But when the sales clerk walks over to the display and removes all the items as you're making your selection, telling you they're for someone on the phone, that just chaps my hide. I didn't call, I drove 22 miles from my home in Wingfield Springs to make my purchase. As I'm standing there calculating how many feet of under cabinet lighting I'll need to complete my kitchen one of the clerks walks over and removes all but two items from the rack, telling me that 20 minutes ago someone had called for them. I guess at this store, two birds in the bush are worth one in the store. Found them on line for less money and no shipping or sales tax... If you shop here don't be surprised if they rip items from your clutch to sell to someone else. And if you offer a rebuttal trying to explain that you dropped the ball and should have removed the items as soon as you hung-up, save yourself the time... The customer standing in your showroom, the one that put himself in your brick and mortar store should always come first! Otherwise close your business and run it from a website! read more

He saw that we were standing there waiting for 30 minutes without even saying that he would be right with us or anything. I called in talked to Sandy, she was very helpful. I was looking for a specific kind of quartz countertop and color that I could not find anywhere else. Finally talked to Cesarstone and They gave me this number. After sandy had confirmed, yes they have what I'm looking for, I told her great I will be in next week. Well I went in today and I went to the display since all the sales people were busy. I didn't see the specific color I wanted at the cesarstone display. After another lady was finished with her client I asked her if sandy was in and she said no, I explained to her I talked to sandy and she informed me they had the color I was looking for but I don't see it on the display rack. She said well if the color isn't on the display then they don't have it. I said okay can we call sandy see if she put it aside for me or put it somewhere, the lady then says, NO! Sandy is taking measurements in Lake Tahoe. I told her I'm driving from Sparks and I'm not going to drive back out here. She then walks over to the display and we don't even sell cesarstone, which I already knew I just needed to see the actual sample to compare some colors. Very rude and unhelpful and I will be contacting the manager on the poor rude customer service and apparently they don't want to really sell anything here! read more

The worst customer service I have ever seen. They put add-ons on the other end of your invoice to make up for what appears to be competitive base prices on light fixtures up front. The showroom help on our lighting selections was fine. I pretty much already knew exactly what I wanted from online window shopping. I needed a house full, 14 fixtures, but started with one fixture. I ordered it. Yuki: "Yes, it is in stock." Then two days later: "Oh, they have to paint it. It will be 3 to 4 weeks." Then after FIVE weeks, no call from Yuki. No e-mail from Yuki. I e-mail her and then have to call her twice to get a response from her. Then I am told: "I am sorry. There is a problem. I have two people working on it." Won't say what the problem is. I call manufacturer and am told: "Five more weeks from TODAY." I called Yuki and I cancelled. Two of the 14 fixtures we needed were high-priced 16-light chandeliers. We have been WITHOUT dining room lighting for over five weeks. Do not waste your time with this store. At one point, before even this debacle today, on another "issue" with her, Yuki told me: "We are just a small store." Okay. Fine. So does that hurt the service I am going to get from you? Apparently so. No wonder so many small businesses go out of business. She just sent me an e-mail with receipt of my refund of my deposit. At least she says she takes "partial responsibility" for this. I do believe she messed up the order on the front end somehow. DON'T GO TO THIS STORE! Now I have to start from Square One. read more
