They were hideous but in great shape, well made and expensive. So we had them refinish them in white and we can't believe how much of a difference it made and how beautiful they are. The guys on his crews are friendly, clean and efficient. I was really impressed with the set up and how quickly they work. Because we loved the whole process so much we ended up deciding to refinish all 3 bathrooms as well. We both love DIY but there is no way we would have been able to get a finished result like we got from Cabinet Refresh. I can't wait to see the bathrooms when they are done! It took much longer than promised. We bought a new house and went with them b/c they promised they could do it before we moved in. They "completed" the job over a month after we moved in. The quality of work was poor. I had to constantly push them to fix issues, like cabinets not lining up (scraping on frame), door bumpers falling off, doors slamming into adjacent doors (needed different hinges, etc). Communication was terrible. We had no idea what to expect day to day. Sometimes workers would show up, sometimes they wouldn't. I hate leaving bad reviews for a family-owned business, but the experience caused us a lot of stress and left us with an average kitchen remodel. read more

Lady who handles the calls is very rude! I received this morning 3 calls from them I return the call and no one answered then later today I received 3 more calls back to back. I told the lady to leave a voicemail next time instead of calling 3 times and she proceeded to tell me how LEGALLY she could call me 3 times!!! I said not interested in their service and said bye and she didn't hung up so I asked her if she was going to hung up and she proceeded to tell me I could do it myself if I wanted to hung up!!!!!!! I said what????? And she explained she wasn't allowed to hung up !!!!! I told her I was going to leave a bad review and ask the name for the company and then of course she hung up!!!! I guess now she was "allowed" to hung up. Leave a voicemail!!!! Don't call 3 times back to back. Call one time or 2 a day but not one call after the other!!!! No one will respond to you nicely if you call so many times in a day specially if we don't even want the service. She handle this call poorly thats the reason for my review! Update: 7/3/21 So I scratched my beautiful new pantry door. I did it. A big scrape that just broke my heart. I called Scott and asked if he could repair it somehow, thinking it would cost me and it wouldn't match after it was done - based on previous experiences with OTHER companies. Without missing a beat, Scott quickly said, "SURE! I'll have it picked up and repaired." Sure enough, the damaged door was picked up repaired and returned to me and looked perfect ...AT NO CHARGE. I tried hiring Cabinet Refresh, but it didn't work out. Scott's communication and follow-up is pretty bad. When I found this company, I mostly paid attention to the good reviews, but I should have looked at the bad reviews too. After having my own issues with Scott, I went back and read them. Everything they were saying in the negative reviews rang true in my case. He doesn't seem organized and he doesn't listen. I felt like my project was too small for him to prioritize, so he compensated by jacking up his prices. Plainly, he charges way too much. I realized that after shopping around a bit more. I had Jordan from reKitchen do my cabinets instead. He did a fantastic job and I saved tons of money. You can search my reviews for the before and after pics of my cabinets. Scott was polite and I really wanted to like him, but he came across like the "I'll try to pencil you in..." guy. I had two conversations with him where he said he couldn't speak with me because he was either flying out or flying in from somewhere. It's like he wanted me to know that he was a busy, jet-setter, but it came across as douchy and flaky instead. I'm sure Scott feels like his business is highly sought after and from the pictures, it looks like he and his crew have the ability to do a good job when their heads are in the game, but they are a bit messy and inconsistent. Instead of getting upset by the negative reviews and dismissing them, I hope Scott reads them all and uses them as helpful tools to improve his business. I am so pleased to write this review for Scott at Cabinet Refresh I don't even know where to start. I ADORE my new kitchen. I hated my kitchen. The cabinets were resurfaced in the 90's when they glued vinyl to the outside, the doors were peeling, the tile counter was a mess, it was 100% yuck. Three weeks from start to finish my kitchen is gorgeous! They managed to peel of the old cabinet resurfacing, sand and paint the cabinets inside and out. They look brand new. This is not a quick spray and go - there were many coats applied so this will last. I replaced the doors, added self-closing drawers, new hardware and voila! I replaced the tile backsplash with a beautiful tile Scott suggested and splurged on a fabulous solid surface countertop. Scott also suggested that I upgrade the incandescent ceiling lights with new bright LED bulbs, and replace the horrible fluorescent lighting under the cabinets with LED lighting strips with a tiny footprint. His referral of an electrician was perfect - I would use him again. I added some pullout shelves (you can see my dog Mozart enjoying them) and a sectional pantry. The pictures speak for themselves. Now let's talk about Scott and his crew. They are all so nice! They always left the work space clean and were a pleasure to have around. The workmanship was top notch. The scheduling was amazing - one artisan after another with no down time - - let me say again it took a mere 3 weeks! Scott is so fun to work with. He has great taste and recommended upgrades that were spectacular without throwing off my budget. Let's talk about value. My kitchen was demolished to the studs. So slow in getting back with me, tried to more than double the price of their original quote because they have to get up multiple flights of stairs to install the vanity! As the owner of the company, Scott was very busy but I understood why because they have a lot of clients. Despite that, he always responded to my concerns, worked with me on pricing so that I was able to afford it, kept his every word and delivered on his promises with the highest level of integrity. I work everyday so I was nervous about not being present for any of the actual work, but the crew (whom I never even met until the end) started on time, worked everyday and did an incredibly fantastic job. I would come home and see they were extremely efficient, took great care to protect everything in the house even including my dog! The foreman Elio kept in contact w me by phone to ask specific questions and sent me pictures whenever necessary. Although he wasn't always on site, he closely monitored his capable crew, was always available (except when he when he had poor cell phone reception), answered any Qs I had as soon as he could and was always communicating with his team so i trusted him. Without having met them at all, from the first day and everyday I came home afterward, I was extremely impressed with how professional, careful, considerate and hardworking they were. The process took longer than I expected because I didn't quite know what was involved but everday I saw the progress and Elio explained it required multiple coats to achieve the glaze finish I had requested - the final result was even more beautiful than I imagined. When I finally had a few days off to be there at the end, I met some of the crew and as I watched them, I was so impressed with their talents and expert abilities. Jorge created the exact glaze finish I was looking for using multiple shades and layers which were so perfectly applied with a steady hand like an artist. Juan is extremely knowledgeable about cabinetry and he spent hours painstakingly aligning and realigning the doors to make them all straight and even. They were also so kind, polite, friendly and considerate. They all worked together so well like brothers and I was so happy to hear them joking, laughing and see them watching some video clips together during their breaks. When they were finally finished with the job, I felt guilty asking them to make a few spots a little lighter/darker or readjust some of the doors a bit but the next day Elio himself came with Jorge and in just a few hours, they fixed everything promptly and willingly with no complaints. I was a bit nervous about doing such a big project - but in 3 weeks, they taped and papered all the floors and cabinet/drawer contents, put up temporary "walls" to protect the rest of the house from aerosol sprays, primed and refinished every cabinet in my house including a large kitchen, 4 bathrooms, laundry room, hallway cabinets and wet bar with a multicoat/multicolor handfinished glaze shade and spray painted the kitchen island with a beautiful solid color. I couldn't be happier with the process, the final product, the workmanship, the professionals who did the job and Scott. My entire house now looks like brand new, high end construction. We had custom maple cabinets built in our family room in 1999. Needless to say they were dated and had turned orange over the years. Our kitchen has white cabinets and is open to the family room. We decided on a white wash but were concerned the maple would look too pink or flesh colored. Scott and his team were wonderful. Called for an estimate to repaint my kitchen cabinets. I was told that Carol would arrive between 9 AM and 12 PM on the date indicated. At 8:35 there was a knock at the door. We weren't exactly ready at that moment, as the morning routine, kids, breakfast, clean-up etc., was in full effect. We asked her to give us a few minutes and that we did not expect her until at least 9 A.M. 15 minutes later, there was another knock at the door, Carol asked if we were ready yet. I invited her in and let her know that our appointment was scheduled from 9 to 12 and wasn't expecting her before then. It was only 8:50 AM. I walked Carol to the kitchen as I began to explain the situation with the cabinets, peeling paint on rather new cabinets. She asked, "what do you want to do?" I was confused about the question, as I requested a quote to repaint the cabinets and was in the middle of explaining that to her. She took some picture and measurements and then said she would send me an estimate and was about to leave. We had to ask her about the process, material, warranty etc., which she then explained. If we didn't ask, there was no information coming our way. She had samples that were never shown or offered to us. Odd experience for sure. She was obviously bothered about having to wait. And full disclosure, I was a bit bothered by her attitude but made the best of it. She was done and out of our house by 9 AM. By noon I had an estimate of $4960.00. I asked for another estimate without the island cabinets as they were in pretty good condition. She sent another estimate that was $390.00 less than the original. This is a large island with 4 large doors on one side and 6 large drawers on the other and probably around 1/3 of the kitchen. Math didn't work out for me on that one. A heads-up call if arriving early and ask if ok to come then would have been appreciated. Or, not being bothered by waiting and then knocking on my door again before the appointment time to ask if we were ready yet would have also been appreciated in this instance. Maybe in a rush and over booked. We will be looking for another painter. read more

This review is long overdue. I needed to update my kitchen and I have heard horror stories of companies who pose as "refinishing" experts, but are nothing close. I had several linear feet of maple (hard to stain) cabinets to tackle and wanted to add another row of cabinets to reach the ceiling along with removing two smaller drawers and replacing it with one large one. Scott listened to my needs, helped me design the additions and was available and responsive throughout the process. The color I chose was not the easiest to work with, especially on hard to penetrate maple. In addition, hand painted striations were applied to all surfaces for a hand stippled look (not easy to duplicate uniformly piece after piece). Scott worked with me until all the pieces were to my satisfaction. The crew were polite and neat. They even helped me with moving the contents out of the cabinets which I was responsible for. DON'T allow a regular painter, handyman or other tradesman to perform this specialized service. You will be sorry. Hire the experts with a proven track record.
