PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!! TL;DR: The premium price you'll pay is not reflective of true quality,…read moreservice or craftsmanship... instead, you'll end up paying a huge margin on poor quality cabinets to pay the middlemen! Writing a very lengthy review in hopes that others can make informed decisions about working with Phinney Ridge after our disappointing experience. In October of 2024, we chose to work with a small, local business because we expected a higher standard of quality, craftsmanship, and personalized service. Our initial experience in the showroom met that expectation and gave us confidence in the process ahead. Unfortunately, the remainder of the project did not reflect the level of service or product quality we anticipated. 10 months later, and we are severely disappointed with how things unfolded. This was a substantial investment--nearly $70,000--and we expected a finished product that aligned with the value and promises made. The first issues arose when the cabinet boxes arrived damaged. To PRC's credit, they addressed this with a restoration expert, and we're satisfied with how those specific concerns were resolved. However, the ongoing issues with woodgrain matching have been far more frustrating and ultimately unresolved. After three separate attempts, it became clear that a proper match was not going to be achieved. We were made aware by PRC that we would be receiving cabinets "from the same tree" to ensure an exact match across all cabinets. One day one, we had multiple varieties of wood grain/color. If consistent material wasn't available, we should have been given the option to wait. Instead, we now have five visibly different shades of wood throughout our kitchen as shown in the photos. We were also disappointed in the communication and service from Phinney Ridge once the "Pacific Coastal Marketing" team (a dealer representative/middleman) became involved. We did not expect to work through a third party--we selected PRC specifically because we wanted to avoid that kind of detachment. I found myself repeatedly chasing updates, which, according to PRC's own "Cabinetry Design Services" document, should have been handled by their team. It was unclear who was responsible for what, and the handoffs between Phinney Ridge and Pacific Coastal Marketing only compounded our frustration. To illustrate this disconnect, I'll share a quote from Pacific Coastal Marketing's homepage that I found telling: "Coastal Pacific Marketing offers valuable knowledge of the markets they serve... Their goal is always the mutual success of the manufacturer, the dealership, and each individual designer." Notably, the customer is not mentioned. This perfectly reflects the experience we had: at a certain point, it felt like the end user was no longer the priority. I share all of this not to be combative, but because I believe in honest feedback and hope this helps improve future experiences. Based on our experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Phinney Ridge Cabinets to others.

I've bought 3 kitchens from phinney ridge cabinet co. They never fail to exceed my expectations,…read moreand they go above and beyond to make sure the project stays on track. The quality of the material is exceptional and on point, and I believe you get great value for the money. They are good people and very professional, and I will be buying more kitchens from them in the future.

He brought samples of all his materials and colors so I could pick out just the right things, and the quality of his work was just so evidently higher than all the other folks I talked to. He did two closets for us and I am so, so happy with them! I've been waiting to post a review to be able to add some nice photos but we have two small kids and I've just realized the closets are never going to look perfectly clean LOL! Eric is a one man shop so there is a wait time for him to build your pieces before install, but it was totally worth it. He made everything exactly to measure, and we had odd spaces to work with so off the shelf wasn't going to work for us.

Eric is the best around, period. Don't go with a big box store unit, take the time to call Eric and…read morehave him stop in for a custom quote. We recently bought our first house and the only part we weren't satisfied with was the cheap and inefficient ClosetMaid wire rack systems in our closet. Our space wouldn't have worked for a stock IKEA system as there was a pillar and a wiring cabinet for internet in the closet, but even if those concerns weren't present we would still have elected to go with Eric. Our biggest challenge was my wife and my disparate heights. I'm over 6'3" and my clothes are just as long. My wife is 5'4" and hers aren't. We didn't even realize you could customize a closet to accommodate clothes of wildly different length but Eric measured what we already had and did just that. This isn't a possibility with big box solutions, I'm thrilled that my shirts and jackets have enough space to hang without bunching up at the bottom. Eric was punctual and professional at our first meeting, spent a lot of time gathering measurements and soliciting our wants before making some preliminary drawings and showing us his wide selection of materials and finishes. We were thrilled with our first sketch and things only got better when we received our detailed closet plans. Eric worked hard to make sure he could find the finish and drawer style of our dreams, working with multiple vendors to get us that material we needed. His install took about a day and he was clean and quiet--my wife and I were able to work from home while he did his work without issue. We went from not enough storage space to more than we know what to do with. Eric's pricing is fair and comparable to big box do-it-yourself solutions. You will get a custom closet without compromise to fit your budget and will end up with a nicer and more space efficient solution than if you looked elsewhere. Eric even replaced the utilitarian cable closet cover with a bespoke wooden cover that matched the closet material and finish. We shopped around quite a bit for a closet, save yourself some time and just start with Eric.
