PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!! TL;DR: The premium price you'll pay is not reflective of true quality, service or craftsmanship... instead, you'll end up paying a huge margin on poor quality cabinets to pay the middlemen! Writing a very lengthy review in hopes that others can make informed decisions about working with Phinney Ridge after our disappointing experience. In October of 2024, we chose to work with a small, local business because we expected a higher standard of quality, craftsmanship, and personalized service. Our initial experience in the showroom met that expectation and gave us confidence in the process ahead. Unfortunately, the remainder of the project did not reflect the level of service or product quality we anticipated. 10 months later, and we are severely disappointed with how things unfolded. This was a substantial investment--nearly $70,000--and we expected a finished product that aligned with the value and promises made. The first issues arose when the cabinet boxes arrived damaged. To PRC's credit, they addressed this with a restoration expert, and we're satisfied with how those specific concerns were resolved. However, the ongoing issues with woodgrain matching have been far more frustrating and ultimately unresolved. After three separate attempts, it became clear that a proper match was not going to be achieved. We were made aware by PRC that we would be receiving cabinets "from the same tree" to ensure an exact match across all cabinets. One day one, we had multiple varieties of wood grain/color. If consistent material wasn't available, we should have been given the option to wait. Instead, we now have five visibly different shades of wood throughout our kitchen as shown in the photos. We were also disappointed in the communication and service from Phinney Ridge once the "Pacific Coastal Marketing" team (a dealer representative/middleman) became involved. We did not expect to work through a third party--we selected PRC specifically because we wanted to avoid that kind of detachment. I found myself repeatedly chasing updates, which, according to PRC's own "Cabinetry Design Services" document, should have been handled by their team. It was unclear who was responsible for what, and the handoffs between Phinney Ridge and Pacific Coastal Marketing only compounded our frustration. To illustrate this disconnect, I'll share a quote from Pacific Coastal Marketing's homepage that I found telling: "Coastal Pacific Marketing offers valuable knowledge of the markets they serve... Their goal is always the mutual success of the manufacturer, the dealership, and each individual designer." Notably, the customer is not mentioned. This perfectly reflects the experience we had: at a certain point, it felt like the end user was no longer the priority. I share all of this not to be combative, but because I believe in honest feedback and hope this helps improve future experiences. Based on our experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Phinney Ridge Cabinets to others. read more

We did a kitchen and bathroom remodel in 2012 and used Phinney Ridge Cabinet Company for both rooms. They were fantastic. They came out and showed us we could get much more counter and storage space than our non-designer minds would imagine. They worked closely with our contractor. Some of our favorite things, besides the fact that the cabinets and drawers and trim have all held up wonderfully for four years, are the toe-kick step stool, the lazy susan, and the fantastic gorgeous fir vanity in our bathroom. read more

Remodeling a kitchen can be very daunting. However, if you go with Phinney Ridge Cabinet Company, you will be in very capable hands. They are very clear about the steps they take in the process. Their measurements and revisions are extremely precise to the point where I was blown away. They worked closely with my contractor and ensured that everything went incredibly smoothly. The cabinets and countertops they sell are beautiful--- my friends' jaws dropped when they saw the finished product. Simply put, my loft space was transformed by the kitchen they helped me design. They designed and help advise throughout the whole project. Price was affordable and choices abundant! They have 2 inside design people who do more than show you cabinets. They come to your house, give you advice but don't push, they are good with designing a new layout (read: change a window to french doors, remove a door and build a peninsula), and they even help with aspects that have nothing to do with their products. A true "mom and pop" kinda place where the owners are on site and they actually care about their customers. AWESOME!!! FOLLOW UP - it's a couple of years since my kitchen was done: They have continued to come out and help me as my hinges need adjusting to make all the cabinet heights line up etc. Really exceptional follow through on customer service. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. They were incredibly patient working with us through the design process of our new kitchen. They were precise and thought of every little detail. We had issues with our contractor and they came out multiple times to answer questions and to assist. We loved our experience with Phinney Ridge Cabinets! The entire team (Tim Nolan, Tim Moser, and Katelyn Broxson) were all available to help is through every aspect of our entire kitchen cabinet remodeling process. Tim M. and Katelyn made helpful suggestions on the design aspects. And had incredible patience waiting for us to complete our research and timing issues with our contractor. We stretched a 4-6 week decision process into 9 months and they were ready to jump on top of things once we finally were ready to go!! And Tim Nolan worked with us once we had the contract signed to make sure our cabinets were installed on time. Our cabinets came in late (NOT due to any fault of Phinney) and we were in jeaopardy of losing a lot of time with our contractor, due to his tight schedule. Tim Nolan personally made sure our cabinets got delivered on time to our house and worked with us very closely to make that happen. We are so grateful for his dedication to top notch customer service and pride in his companys' ability to deliver top quality service and products. We did consider going with a big box store, but are so glad we chose Phinney Ridge instead. The cost difference was minimal compared to the quality of service and products we received. Phinney Ridge Cabinets has horrible customer service. Missed or canceled at least 3 appointments. Ordered cabinets in the wrong sizes after measuring a number of times. Charged us alot more in the end than we were originally quoted. Some of our cabinets were not painted all the way. Other cabinet colors do not even match. Had owner come out to the house after installation...he looked at all the flaws and mismatched colors and said that he thought it looked great...Stay far away from Phinney Ridge.... read more

Sure the quality of the cabinetry is amazing, but I feel like the real draw to Phinney Ridge Cabinet Company is it's amazing staff. Tim and Tim have been a dream to work with. For me, meshing with the people I'm working with is absolutely key, and they are both so personable, knowledgeable, and down to earth. I feel like they really do care about every tiny detail of my project (like I do) and have been very quick to respond and eager to make my vision a reality. Their pricing is very competitive with the big box stores, but instead of a 20 minute consult and then being left to your own devices, you get a professional designer who both comes out to measure and creates a custom design, then someone to oversee the delivery, and then they stop in again to work with the contractor to insure everything is installed properly.
