We loved our cabin get away! The place was nice, and tucked back in the woods. The only thing keeping me from giving them a 5 star was the air hockey table didn't work and there was no snow shovel. We got over the table not working, as we know things can break down. But not having a snow shovel available to your customers during winter caused issues. As we had to sweep the long drive before traveling on it, seeing as it was cement and a rather deep incline. Once we had the drive clean, we ended up purchasing a shovel at the local dollar general, just in case it snowed us in again. We left it on the porch for future guests. read more

We stayed at the Butterfly Crossing cabin in McArthur "Cabins at Pawpaw Hill" for my husband's 60th birthday. I was really excited about the cabin, because the description said it was new and looked so nice and bright and clean in the pictures. It was shabbier than it was made out to be. My first impression going through it was that the toilet actually had visible spots of poop on the seat, on the rim of the bowl and stuck to spots around the inside of the bowl. I cleaned it myself because we needed to use it after our trip there. Disgusting! The pans and dishes were dirty also, so we had to clean what we needed before we used anything , and the hot tub was murky. We did not even use it. I really expected more, and when I let her know about all of it, all she had to say was: "I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with the cleanliness of the cabin. The water in the hot tub is clean we just have a lot of minerals in our well water." Would most definitely not recommend. read more

DO NOT RENT CABINS FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! I Just returned from vacation. Rented the Kountry Kisses cabin from this company. Upon arrival we opened door and was smacked in the face with a strong smell of mold and mildew. Literally took our breath away!!! There was some scented oil burning to mask but there is clearly water damage here. Floors were weak in areas, water stains on ceiling that have been painted over. Water damage and mold around tub in back room next to bedroom, mold around hot tub and a board right at bottom of stairs to hot tub curled up with screws sticking out. This place was clearly a hazard all the way around!!! I contacted this company as well as cabin owner. Well... Kendra the owner called back and immediately started verbal attacking me. Would not let me speak and then told me to SHUT UP!!! And hung up on me. Beth from this company only sent me a message stating..... Sorry your unhappy but we do not refund for early departure. My girlfriend has asthma so she stayed outside. this was clearly a health hazard for her more than myself. There was no way in hell we were going to stay here under these conditions. I then had to get a hotel room for the night. Then found another cabin for the remainder of our stay. Mind you. This whole time I'm trying to make contact. Over the past 5 days there has been no response from anyone. The only thing I've gotten back was $29 service fee from the booking company. Which was returned the minute I hung up phone with them. These are some very unprofessional people and have no concerns whatsoever for people health. My next step is to take them to court. read more

We stayed in the worsted place ever- Leaking ceilings, bugs, trash, smelled of animal urine, non working appliances. Tarp as a hot tub cover, outlets without plate covers, We sent letters to management ....... Can't reach management after 3 and cell service is spotty. From others it seems talking to management would have been useless ,if you could get a hold of them. Kountry Kisses Cabin 30272 St Rt. 93, McArthur OH 45651 Oven was on and pile of dirt at front door upon arrival. Tripped as soon as I walked in the front door due to warped and unsafe flooring (see pics). All dishes were dirty and had food stuck on. Vents were filthy. Mattress was hard and CHEAP! Mattress, bedding and towels all stink! Water damage in the bathroom. Clear access large enough for a snake to enter the living room and the bathroom (see pics), this is the entry point for the insect infestation! The AC/heat wall unit blasts a horrible smell of pet urine/sewage. Scented wall plug is clearly filthy and never been cleaned. Walls and floors were sticky. Vomit/Food pile off the back porch. Hot tub partially deflated and filled with dead bugs - looks like it was never cleaned between guests! Heart shaped jacuzzi tub has filth from the last soak along with dead bugs. Metal strip walking into the bedroom will cause you to trip, may even cut you. Wall outlets move and act as if they will fall out. Mishaps are clearly painted over rather than replaced! Upon washing hands in kitchen sink the pipe came undone and that was the final straw! We left a day early! This place is gross and it stinks. Health and safety risks! Check out photos! We've demanded a full refund. If no answer in 30 days, I'll be moving forward with small claims! THIS IS NOT A CABIN AS ADVERTISED! THIS IS A MOBILE HOME MODIFIED TO LOOK LIKE A CABIN! Kountry kisses: This "cabin" is by far the worst I've ever stayed in. Upon arriving I immediately noticed the tub was dirty. Things continued to get worse. If it wasn't for the fact that we had already paid for this place we would have left early and went home to a more clean place of living. There were gnats the entire weekend. The blinds are broken which is a pretty cheap fix. The floor by the back door feels like its caving in. The WiFi didn't work. There were spiderwebs in almost every corner of this place. Absolute filth. Not sure what our cleaning fee was for during the rental process because clearly things weren't thoroughly cleaned at all. The large burner on the stove doesn't work and the oven light is out. The best part was because of the filth our sub buns gotten eaten in the night by a rodent, a baggie of flour got a hole eaten out of it, and my friends shorts got a whole eaten in the pocket from food crumbs being in there. With a pandemic happening right now cleanliness should be of upmost importance!!!! I wouldn't want my enemy to live in such an environment. I am extremely disappointed and expected much more. I'll take this as a lesson learned and hope that they can clean this place up some. read more

Beth, the "manager," doesn't understand what "customer service" means. She double booked our stay and cancelled on us twice. The second and final time that she cancelled on us was a week after we confirmed and paid for our stay. Each time she attempted to book us a more expensive cabin. She was inappropriately asking us about our ages and we felt that she discriminated against us because we had some younger people in our group spanning from 23 - 30. She clearly didn't care and DID NOT go out of her way to try to accommodate us and we felt that, in fact, her intent was NOT to do business with us at all because of our age. When Beth cancelled on me the second time, she gave me no realistic option of re-booking and told me that she refused to even try because I expressed my disappointment in a very appropriate manner. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT BOOK FROM THESE PEOPLE! To wrap up a long story shortly: We arrived Friday to the Kountry Kisses cabin with wasps and knats, a broken hot tub, and a rotted out un-usable grill. We contacted Beth and when we told her we only rented this cabin for the hot tub so we would like to see if someone could help fix it, she said "that's what they all say". A very kind maintenance man came out to look at the hot tub and he stated that he had been living in this cabin for the past week and told his manager Mike everyday that the hot tub was broken. He said mike just kept ignoring him. He wasn't sure how to fix the hot tub so Mike came out. Mike was aggressive, hostile and quite useless to this situation. He was belittling this kind maintenance man right in front of me. I told him how Beth said this is a common problem and he told me he would call Kendra and have Beth fired and see how she likes it. I was so uncomfortable I went and locked myself in my car. Mike and the maintenance man left without saying a word and didn't fix a single thing. I called Beth back and she told me that they said they fixed it when they didn't and at this point I asked to speak to Kendra directly. Beth told me that was not going to happen and that I need to get over the situation. I told Beth how uncomfortable we were and how I would like to speak to Kendra again and she literally screamed at me on the phone and hung up. (We have this on video). At this point I contacted the local authorities and they contacted Kendra and told her to contact me right away. STILL ZERO CONTACT FROM KENDRA. Since we felt unsafe, the cops recommended we leave, file a dispute, and get a hotel. We did- check out my other review for the Lake Logan Inn. Keep in mind- this all happened within 2 hours. Kountry Kisses. A heath hazard. Awful. I made a yelp just to write and warn people of this place as it seems all the other cabins are "nice" but this one should just be torn down and rebuilt. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT ROACHES AND MICE. Firstly all their pictures posted of it on all websites are outdated. The furniture in a lot of spots are moved and different. We were promised a DVD player. There wasn't one.The grill is different than pictured. It's really a flimsy metal one you find stuck in the ground at a park. The picnic table is sub par at best and feels like it's going to fall apart if more than one person steps on it. The front porch feels like it's falling apart walking on it is scary. Loose boards all over the front and back porch. As I said there are roaches and mice. We came into the place first day and found rat turds on the sink! We could come in after 3 but it seemed like no one had cleaned the place in months. After one night mice chewed through food we had up and away as we saw the mice droppings we didn't want to leave anything out. We found multiple roaches dead under the bed and killed a live one in the bedroom. We could hear the mice at night and other bugs. It was very unsettling. They constantly talked about how clean things are and how someone named Ashley cleaned the place but we had no sponge to clean dishes and we had to literally clean every dish because they had junk all over them! Literally huge chunks of leftovers on the plates. The jacuzzi was disgustingly dirty. Ran it twice after cleaning and was still dirty and pumping out just disgusting bits. There's also rusty nails and broken parts around the wood framing the tub and it cut my leg pretty deep and I had to actually go and get a tetanus shot. It really seemed like no one even cleaned this place as there was layers of dust and dirt in many places. I get covid I do. I work in a restaurant. Things are tough. But this is no excuse. The electric fireplace didn't work. Half the lights did not work. The hot tub was pretty nice and updated than what the picture showed. Literally the only good thing of our stay. It smelled strongly of chlorine and was the only clean thing in the place. However if you want to go during the day you have to look straight at the neighboring cabin only a few feet away. There's no shade and no lights if you want to go at night after sunset besides the small one inside the actual hot tub. Also a minor but still pretty big deal was you're not far from the road. After our first night we found someone threw a beer bottle onto the rock driveway. There also is a cabin very close next to you. Literally right next to you and their back end can see right exactly where you would be in the back with the hot tub. No privacy or shade in the front or back porch. A family was renting next to us at the same time. You think a cabin meant for couples would have more privacy. We could hear them easily in our cabin. This was very misleading in all websites. If I had seen updated pictures I would have never booked. I will never stay here again nor ever recommend this cabin. Beth talked so highly of this place and I don't think I can ever trust this group that rents cabins now. I'm extremely disappointed. We wanted to make this a yearly thing. Where I work we had at least 2 couple ask you take pictures of this specific place as they wanted to go for a getaway. I wouldn't recommend this even to someone I hated. We definitely will pick somewhere much better and a lot closer to hocking hills and I found nicer ones not owned by these people to suggest to people. The bug problem is awful and the doors just let everything in. We found 3 ticks inside the cabin. We have to bug bomb all of our things because we don't want roaches at home. From seeing other reviews this place is clearly an issue and Beth should see these reviews but clearly does not care. I have seen many reviews elsewhere that she is rude and locals in try's area have even said she is not a great person to do business with. We recently stayed in Fox Hollow. Overall it was a disappointment. The screened in porch furniture was OLD living room furniture, super uncomfortable. The pool table, dartboard and karaoke machine were unusable due to tremendous wear and tear. The basement was super musty, this explaining the air fresheners and fans. This cabin needs an overhaul. read more

We stayed here for Patents weekend at Ohio University. I'm so thankful we found this gem. The cabin was Perfect and beautiful.We'll definitely be back. The only negatives is its pretty hard to find especially at night. But they answered the phone and talked us in. The pans provided stick lime crazy no matter what you cook in them so I'd bring a couple. Also run foil would be helpful. They also only provided one roll of toilet paper. And finally the cleaning crew needs to pay attention to the little details. There's cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and behind the sofa. But even So we loved it!!!! read more

Kountry kisses cabin or should I say trailer house was absolutely awful. When we first arrived the driveway was covered in 6 inches of snow and the porch my husband had to sweep off the porch with a broom the water was frozen mostly. No hot water all weekend so no shower. What little hot water we did have i used to wash my dishes in the bathroom sink.. no hot water in the kitchen.. The toilet didn't work so we had to use a pan to fill up and dump in back of toilet. Breakers kept flipping off do to the heat source. A fake fireplace and a space heater. When we would turn water on or off the lights would flicker and the breaker would blow. The head of our bed was lower then the feet so it felt like you were sleeping upside down. Oh and we couldn't use the jacuzzi tub again no hot water and it have bugs in it. The stove didn't work husband had to fix it before we could use it. The pictures on the website are nothing like what is really in the so called cabin. And no privacy on the back porch for us being in the hot tub. The hot tub was the only good thing because we were warm for about 2 hours a day. This is the worst place we have ever stayed. Now I see why they don't give you the address until 30day before you get there and you must cancel 60 day before your do to check in and no refunds. This is absolutely awful. Never again will I stay in such a place and the 6 cpls we knew that were booking their spring trips are now booking elsewhere. read more

We booked a 3 night stay for our anniversary, and the next day received a call from Beth saying that their policy does not allow for them to have an un-rented day between guests. Beth explained that this is because they cannot rent the cabin for one day to another guest between us and the guest checking out before our stay. Beth then said she would need us to add an extra day to our stay (for a very small discount) or move our days to fill in the gap. We explained that this was a bit of a surprise to us and an inconvenience as we would need to pay for another night, and or take an additional day off of work. Beth DID NOT apologize, but rather stated that this is clearly explained on their site and it is in their terms and agreements when booking. We explained that this "policy" is not on the site, and the confirmation email (which had a copy of the rental terms) actually says one night rentals are accepted so we didn't understand where this was coming from. At this point Beth became very short with us, was rude, un-apologetic, and talked over us several times saying that this is the policy, and that we can do this or cancel our reservation. As we were trying to see what options we had, she interrupted us again stating that she was done arguing, she hadn't charged my card, and she will just cancel the reservation. Before we could say anything, she sarcastically told us to have a nice day and hung up on us. **Needless to say, we were appalled by this lack of professionalism and told a few friends. Some of these friends felt that we were treated this way due to discrimination against homosexuals. So they took it upon themselves to send anonymous emails complaining, and accusing Beth of being homophobic. The company responded (from Beth's email address) saying that Beth (now speaking in the 3rd person) is not homophobic, she is liberal and progressive, but our friends were rude and nasty to her and she does not tolerate rudeness, so "good try" but this is not why the reservation was canceled "end of story". The spot had privacy and the fishing pond was in walking distance from it. Nice area for grilling out with a picnic table and front porch. Within driving distance of anywhere you'd want to go. I would definitely recommend it to someone else especially for the price! Only a few complaints - there was no light on the back porch for the hot tub or just going out on it at night, WiFi did not work, and it could use a good dusting/cleaning (dirty AC, window blinds dusty, etc) but overall it was clean enough for my wife and I. read more

Terrible company. BEWARE 'Kounty Kisses' cabin. When we entered the cabin, there were dead ladybugs everywhere; my first reaction upon walking in was 'I need a broom'. The cabin looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months: there was a thick layer of dust everywhere, the sink was leaking into a bowl, and there were mouse droppings as well (we even heard mice running in the bathtub). For a five-day stay, we were allotted less than two rolls of toilet paper, and the tiniest bit of soap. The worst part, by far, however, was the reaction of the staff when I called about these issues. The person I talked to was belligerent and angry that I dared call these 'problems' as such. I was told, verbatim, that 'Every single cabin in Hocking Hills has mice. Every. Single. One.' I have stayed in the area before, and I know that this is not, in fact, the case. Kool Breeze McArthur Ohio. This place is a nasty death trap. Rats in the house transformed into a cabin. It's something from a Stephen king movie. There were bugs crawling all over the place. Some man was building a porch that looked like he crawled out of the movie wrong turn. He proceeded to tell us all of his problems. Problems with all the other properties owned by cabins in hocking around the area. Electrical issues. Window air conditioners? Don't get me started on the bathroom. The beds were very uncomfortable. The TV set up was a cluster and disaster of its own. Wires and cables all over the place. Kitchen table was set up for two people. This place isn't suitable for section 8 housing. The Beth lady makes excuses and asks if he contacted someone named Kendra. Will never rent from this place again. Beware of Cabins in Hocking. read more

I just want to make this clear; I made an account specifically to leave a review for this business. I booked a stay with Cabins in Hocking for one of their smallest cabins for the weekend of 5/26-5/28 (the memorial day weekend). Immediately after successfully scheduling through their website I received an email from Beth saying that there is a 3-day minimum for holiday weekends. Nothing on their website or in the booking process indicated that a 3-day minimum was required. Every step along the way said that 2 days was the minimum. Even the email confirmation that was sent said: - Holidays are charged at the Holiday rate. A two- four night minimum is required for the following Holidays New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Presidents Day,Thanksgiving, and Christmas or any holiday that is federal. While this alone was unacceptable (I shouldn't have been able to even book in the first place if that was the case), when I spoke with Beth on the phone to rectify the situation, she gave me 2 options, either cancel or book an additional day. I explained all of the above to her, nothing on their website or in the booking process indicated this was the case AND I was able to successfully book using their online application. She said "none of the companies in Hocking Hills would do a 2-day minimum for a holiday weekend." She gave me no alternative so I told her I would have to cancel and that I wouldn't be booking with them in the future. I couldn't even get the sentence out of my mouth before she hung up on me. As someone who has worked in customer service many times before, this is absolutely the worst treatment of a customer and I will not be doing business with them. read more

The cabin was beautiful inside and out. It was set back always from main roads and deep in the woods. The interior was very nice along with many amenities. The driveway is a bit steep, 1st and 2nd floors were very creaky, and there was no cell signal with weak internet. The cabin had direct tv, a landline, appliances all looked new, and about everything you'd need for regular home life. We enjoyed it. read more

I received an email stating that they made a mistake on the pricing and that in order to keep the reservation that I already had made and submitted my payment info on, I would need to pay an additional $340.00. When I called back and questioned the legality of the procedure, I was told it was perfectly legal (even though I checked with an attorney prior to and was told it was not legal at all). When I told her I had contacted an attorney she argued that it didn't matter because I wouldn't lose any money on it. She gave me the options to cancel the reservation or pay the additional $340. I told her I was not comfortable with either as it was not my mistake, but theirs and I had it through an email that I was to pay a certain price. Beth then proceeded to tell me that it was clear that I was upset and she was just going to cancel my reservation and hung up on me. The worst costumer service I have ever experienced! The place is disgusting, there was a weird liquid on one of the seats, half the dishes were dirty, I went to check for bed bugs and didn't find any but when I lifted up the mattress there's were dead bugs all of there spring box. There were some disgusting adult films laying around mixed in with regular movies. On top of it being just down right nasty the back door deadbolt didn't work at all and the front door easily could've been opened with a little force. The jacuzzi didn't seem to be clean either. The DVD player tray was broken and needed assistance to work. The whole place had a uncomfortable and bad vibe to it too. This place is literally a joke and the owner Beth clearly has no clue how to take care of property's she's renting out. I'm going to see what I can do about getting my money back on this. read more

We stayed in Fireflies Hollow and experienced wood roaches crawling around. At the time we did not know they were wood roaches bc they look just pile a normal cockroach. We ended up leaving at 1230am bc we had killed 4 in an hour and they would not refund for our last night that we didn't stay in because everyone left early. We left early because there were roaches crawling around and who is to say at the time they were gonna get in to our stuff and we would bring them home. read more

Stayed at the gorgeous Gokotta Ridge log home this past weekend. It provided the perfect escape from telephones, news, and noise. The cabin is beautifully furnished, decorated, and stocked with everything we needed to feel right at home. It was also spotlessly clean. The setting is private and tranquil, surrounded by trees, yet close to caves, restaurants, and hiking trails. There is a hot tub, which we didn't use on this visit, but hope to use in the future. Beds were extremely comfortable, and there were televisions if you should want a dose of reality, though I don't know why you would! Three amazing bedrooms and bathrooms, so plenty of room for family and friends. Can't recommend highly enough! read more

This review is for the customer service in general and for the cabin we rented "The Stone Settler Cabin". This cabin look nice on camera but when you get there you get the truth. The furniture is broken down and the game room was non functioning. The utinsils such as the can opener did not work. The dishes were not washed. The cable shut off for 30 minutes. Fed up tried to use phone and did not work! As we started out the door to leave and a 100lbs.+ black chow impeaded us to leave. I had a piece of sandwich left and threw it as far as possible to reload my stuff in my car. Called the next day to explain all this and that i spent almost $600 for two nights for the total of 4 hours of torture. they refused to refund my money and i hope no one else goes through this ignorance and that is why i am posting this attrosity to the public. i give this a negative 1000!!! read more
