Big disappointment. Booked the luxury catamaran snorkeling trip. Paid more than other similar trips thinking it would be better. NOT. I've done several of these types of trips in Hawaii, Costa Rica and Florida and was really let down. I'll start by saying that the crew was friendly and good. The rest was not so good. Extra charge for transportation although I didn't plan on it. A bit of a ghetto element on the boat. Music was mainly rap although most guests weren't into that. When we got to the swimming cove they had masks and snorkels out but no fins. It wasn't until I got back on the boat that I learned they had fins. They made us wear life jackets in the water. As a former competitive swimmer I challenged that and got back talk. Lunch was a huge disappointment. One bento box per 2 people. Terrible chicken Caesar salad with barely any chicken. Ceviche with very little fish. Mostly just a pico de gallo with little bits of fish. Some of the fruit was not ripe. When the trip was over it was a 45 minute wait to get the shuttle back to our hotel., I ended getting an uber back which was cheaper than their transportation although I had already paid for it. read more

Edit: Knocked off another star for the generic auto reply from owners to my review. Me and my partner went on June 26th to celebrate my birthday doing their sun boat sailing with snorkeling. We had great seats in front of the vessel and toured the waters, all the while being served good drinks and amazing appetizers/snacks. Music was great and Esteban was the greatest host for the day. I honestly recommend this if you want an east day of fun in the sun. They offer a photographer who comes on board with you and takes photos throughout the time on the boat in case you'd like to buy tour photos later on after if you'd like but I gotta tell you this is the part of the whole excursion experience that left a bitter taste in my mouth. For one? Karen who was our photographer took a bunch of photos (I would say maybe like 40 or so) and only 3 we liked. The rest were either very unflattering or just not professionally taken at all. We're talking the vast majority being either of us eating or looking down applying sun tan etc. And the worst part? The amount they charge to buy the photos you do like. They offered us to buy all these horrible shots along with the good 3 for 80 dollars. And for just the few we wanted they were charging 69 dollars because it's two people in the shot; so it's per person. It's just a massive con... like hey is there a film shortage or storage space in your SD card? Bring your own camera and rely on your own shots. read more

This was a great experience! We did the Dolphin experience which was a once in a lifetime thing! We had so much fun, it was the best day of our trip. We also got a bonus speedboat ride to the Arch and JP was a great guide in both Spanish and English! The only downside was not being able to bring our phones with the dolphins. If you wanted pictures you had to buy them through their photographer and prices ranged from $300-$600. We will absolutely use them again but won't fall for all of the nickel and dime nonsense. read more

Since our kids are still small, there wasn't TOO many options for excursions to choose from...so I was REALLY glad to see that they had a family-friendly dolphin encounter where everyone gets to be in the water and up-close with the dolphins! It was great that they offer shuttle service to and back from the location - we even got to explore downtown a bit after the excursion since their shuttles depart every hour so we didn't have to rush back to our resort. The actual dolphin encounter was amazing - only warning is that the photos are how they get you...they are SUPER expensive and they will keep offering you "discount" until you agree to buy them. I was forewarned by the Internet prior to the trip but was still surprised at how hard they tried to sell them! If/when we return to Cabo again in the future, I would definitely book more experiences through Cabo Adventures so we can find out what more this beautiful city has to offer! read more

Let me start off by saying I throughly enjoyed Cabo while I was there and can't wait to go back. A group of 12 of us had went and We choose an adventure package through Expedia which basically included: A free boat sail, that included food and alcohol. It's not a gourmet meal just like a pasta salad some guacamole and a couple of other things. They also have a photographer that goes with you if you want pictures for an extra fee. ATVing through the desert mud, they provide all the gear and helmets. The tour guide was fun and entertaining, we also got food with this and a tequila tasting. The last one we did was jetsking. They provide life jackets and have a safety boat that rides with us in case we need to get in the boat. Thank God for that cause I fell in the ocean I made it back though. All the events provide transportation and food after each event. They come with a professional photographer that you have to pay for. I didn't give it 4 stars because one of the events we had to pay extra fees we just didn't seem where necessary and also on one of the days we didn't get picked up and ended up having to take a shuttle. My partner and I wanted to experience the open waters of Capo. We made a reservation in advance for Cabo aventures sailing excursion. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the picking up and dropping us off at our hotel. It was an additional five dollars per person round-trip and that's such a great deal! The team that lead our excursion did a pretty good job. They did provide us food and drinks while we were on the excursion. The food was pretty standard. My partner really enjoyed his drinks! I think my favorite part was being able to get out on the water in a paddleboard and also swim with my life vest. The team did give us a lot of historical context about the areas we were sailing to. I would definitely recommend this excursion if you or someone who really likes the open water. read more

Yes yes yes!! We booked a sunset cruise which was an absolute blast. Karla, Benjamin and Juan were absolute gems. Our only complaint is we went on the sunset cruise and the other side of the boat saw 90% of the sunset, and we only saw about 10% of it. So sit on the right side if you can. We did the dolphin encounter through Cabo Adventures, and it was amazing! All three of my kids said hands down, it was their favorite activity (16,13,10). We had Cesar (guide) and Eva (dolphin), and it was a great mix of learning about the dolphins and then getting to hug, dance and swim with them. So, so fun! As others mentioned, the photos were outrageously expensive. It is unfortunate that they offer no option to purchase individual photos. I think most people want a keepsake of this incredible experience, and it is sad that many walk away with no photos because they can't justify the expense. read more

Sailboat Cruise The cruise and staff aboard the boat were fantastic. The made the trip special. The transportation to and from the Docks was aweful. In the morning the driver was late, and we waited 30 min in the lobby. After the cruise the announced our pictures are ready to view. We went to look, and while we were purchasing our transportation back to the resort left. The staff there was laughing at us and saying wait an hour or take an Uber . We went on 3 excursions -- all for FREE because we endured a long 2 hour presentation about timeshares. If you have the patience to sit through one of these hard sells, you can get some pretty nice freebies to enjoy on your vacation. And we got a free breakfast "buffet" of eggs, sausage and beans while enjoying breathtaking views dining at Neptune. Our freebies included: *Sailing on glass bottom boat to the famous arch *Whale watching cruise with breakfast *Camel adventure with lunch buffet -- which was by far the best out of all 3 freebies We easily saved $500 but honestly I would hesitate to say the camel adventure was worth more than $50 per person. Your actual camel ride was a short 20 minute loop along the flat beach. They have you wear the traditional white Moroccan headscarf so you can feel like you're in the Sahara desert. No selfies of you and the camel are allowed so they can try to sell you photo packages of you feeding the camel, kissing the camel, riding the camel and posing in other ways with your family and their camels. "Buffet" lunch was ribs, chicken mole, corn, tuna salad, variety of other salads, quesadilla, chips and Mexican coffee. Nothing amazing but I did go up for 3rds since there was nothing else to eat! For the whale watching breakfast, it was a sad combo of beans, crumbled cheese, quesadilla, uneatable pancakes, small portion of scrambled eggs, 1 strip of thin bacon, weird taco mixture, stale granola and yogurt. They also closed "the kitchen" after 1 round of service. Something I consistently noticed about all of these activities that offer food -- choices and quality are going to be cafeteria-ish but drinks will always be open bar and they'll constantly ask if you want more drinks. Bottomline, I would try to get any freebies for free. If you paid any amount, you basically paid too much. read more

NEVER AGAIN! Swimming with the dolphins was ok. At the end, you CANNOT purchase a single photo. You must purchase a package. The lowest package was $279! You CAN NOT take ANY photos yourself. Not one! I asked to purchase just one photo, I offered $50 for one--NO. ALL OR NOTHING. I WANTED A PRINTED MEMORY OF ME AND MY 2 daughters. So we left there with no physical memories of us with the dolphins. It absolutely ruined the experience. There were other families swimming at the same time, they did not purchase the photos as well. We did the La Paz Whale Sark Snorkling. Summary: It's a very long day, but if swimming with whale sharks is on your bucket list, it's worth it. The full experience: We were picked up from our resort on the San Jose del Cabo side at 6:05 AM. This van took us to the Cabo Adventures office in Cabo San Lucas. Here we checked in and signed wavers and then waited a little bit. There's a small coffee bar in the office that you can grab a drink and snack at. While waiting, some other vans dropped people from other resorts and some people who drove themselves arrived. Around 7:00am they gathered the group and gave an overview of the plan for the day and set our expectations. It was explained that due to the rules in place to protect the whale sharks, there is a lottery for the boats to visit the whale sharks and the timing of when the boat can enter the area is not up to them, so depending on the lottery the bus may come back from La Paz around 5:30-6 or in the worst case scenario it may not come back until 9:30-10pm. We then loaded up the bus with our bus guide Mario and the drive to La Paz started. After about an hour, we stopped at a place called Agricole for a bathroom break and a chance to grab drinks and snacks again. After about 15 minutes we were back in the bus. Another hour down the road we arrived at the La Paz marina. At the marina they have a restaurant that allows them to use the patio space and bathrooms to gear up before loading the boats. They handed out wet suits here (3mm shortys). I'm a very large man and they had a 2x that fit me OK. Some of the other guys were looking pretty tight in their suits and they didn't have any more XL+ to hand out. After getting into our suits they had a locking shed that we were able to leave our stuff in (so feel free to bring a bag with everything you need for the day). Our bus had 30 people on it. They split us into 3 boats of 10. Each boat had a guide and a boat captain. We got lucky on our day and all 3 boats got pretty early in the boat lottery. So pretty much as soon as we'd geared up, we loaded the boat with our guide Joe and headed out. We were asked to wear the life vests on the way out, but didn't have to wear them the whole ride. The boat was then split into 3 groups (4, 3, and 3). They gave us fins, masks and snorkels on the boat. My wife and i are experienced scuba divers (100+ dives) so we brought our own masks and snorkels. The fins they gave us were adequate, no complaint. If you have your own mask that fits well, i'd recommend bringing it. We drove around for a bit and found a shark! Once we did the first group hopped in the water and swam after the shark. The guide gave plenty of instructions ahead of time about how to swim with the sharks, there's a strategy to it. Once you're with the shark you have to keep kicking and swimming to keep up. You might get lucky and he might be leisurely swimming but you won't just be floating there. You're allowed to wear your life vest in the water if you aren't a good swimmer, but in my opinion it'll slow you down so much, you're better with just the wet suit (it'll make you float). We cycled through the 3 groups of people. Each group got two 5 minute chances in the water and the 1st group got a 3rd chance in the water, but we lost track of the shark after that. Most people only stayed in the water for about a minute or two because they could not swim fast enough to keep up with the shark for long. If you want to maximize your time with the shark, volunteer for the first group if you have the option. We did and this got us that 3rd chance in the water that other's didn't get. After ~3 hours on the boat, we came back to the marina and the restaurant we geared up at served us fish tacos and agua fresca (there was a choice between fish and chicken). They had drinks for purchase too. The guide showed us the photos/videos he took and we had the option to purchase the downloadable video/photos for $50. The guide did a great job of taking videos of the few of us that actually kept up with the shark. We thought $50 was pretty steep though, so we passed. We then boarded the bus again and had the 2 hour ride back to Cabo. No bathroom break on the way back. The bus took us all the way back to San Jose del Cabo. read more

While my kids loved the dolphin experience, it was ethically questionable. We've been so impressed with Cabo's overall conservation efforts, but this was an exception. These beautiful animals are kept in captivity and purely trained for show. In addition, the cost is outrageous. We were charged $250 for pictures. PICTURES! We were also made to rinse off all sunblock, but then had to wait in the sun for over 20 minutes and then the experience itself was in the direct sun for 45 minutes. Where it went south was the photography. You can't use your own camera so we were willing to pay $50 or $75 for a couple of the amazing photos their photographer snapped. But no...you have to buy a huge package that costs$300. Seriously, almost as much as we paid for the Dolphin encounter. Such a bait and switch. If your going to rip people off to that extent, be up front about it. Very disappointing scam that frankly completely disrespects their customers. I could never recommend. I booked the Dolphin Signature Swim during my last cruise to Cabo. I had a great experience as dolphins are my favorite animal and swimming with dolphins are on my bucket list. The whole experience was maybe 40 minutes or so. A person probably spends about a couple minutes with the dolphin taking photos and whatnot. What makes it longer is watching everyone take their turn. You can chose to do a belly swim with the dolphin or underwater swim. They allow people to wait in the observation area and they can take pictures. The issue that I had is, whenever it was my turn, the trainer and photographer purposely stood in my front of my fiancé's view so he couldn't take pictures with his camera. At first I thought it was a coincidence but by the third and fourth time I realized it was on purpose because he was able to see everything until it was my turn. I also heard the trainer tell the photographer something in Spanish about his camera. We were the only Black people there so they knew he was taking my picture. If it was a problem for him to take pictures then they should have said no cameras. But of course the photographer takes videos and pictures because they want to sell you pictures at a crazy rate. The cheapest was a package at $160 and they said they do not sell individual pictures. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience, it's just a very expensive experience. read more

I had a sail and snorkel excursion that was executed by Cabo Adventures, and we had a awesome experience. We were on a very nice sailboat with a great staff of friendly, entertaining and accommodating people. We cruised along and actually were lucky enough to see a whale, later went snorkeling in a cove and then sailed our way back. The entire time the drinks were flowing and the food they served us was delicious. I can't justify $159 for photos that my father could easily take on his Nikon with me and a stuffed dolphin in a kiddie pool. No photos to show or hold onto. The ATV tour was completely misrepresented. You have to stay in line...no passing, and no going fast. What a waste of money, and had I known these rules before I purchased the insurance then I would have known it wasn't needed. The beach and ocean were beautiful, but Cactus had nothing to do with that. All they did was take $450 for something was was suppose to be exciting and fun, and they made it boring and slow. It also wasn't cool that the helmets were worn out and gross, and the gear was not in good shape. My seat was very loose and one of the cars in our group broke a front wheel so we all had to wait for supervisor to get that rider and swap it out. Also be prepared to pick a bunch of people up and drop a bunch of people off before you can get back to your hotel. I will be calling my credit card company to reverse charges because of the misrepresentations between what we were getting and what we got. read more

We went on the Electric Bike Tour. Our guides were amazing. The explained how to properly use the bikes. Stopped to explain different areas we were in. Loved they had a photographer to record our rides and we didn't need to fiddle with our phones. Our excursion included a lunch which was delicious and a margarita lesson. We booked two adventures via Cabo Adventures via our hotel Playa Grande. The first one was parasailing for our 8 and 10 year olds and for $110 we got the booking then they said it would be $25 for transport but that was EACH WAY which was only a five minute walk for us! So to be charged $50 for that felt like a complete rip off, at least give us the option to transport ourselves or use a cab for $10. The parasailing experience itself was fantastic - amazing crew and fun and the girls loved it! We never felt rushed and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. So glad we did it. The second experience was whale shark swimming and that was a long day with a 2.5 hour shuttle bus to La Paz and that was just one way. It would have been better if we were staying in La Paz instead and got more time in the water vs so much time in the boat driving and in the bus driving. Overall good experiences though but I'd do the shark one differently now that I know what's involved. read more

The 2 stars I have is only for my 1st booking with Cabo Adventures. The experience was nice and the staff was amazing during the tour. We decided to rebook the tour for the 2nd time and this is where everybody fell downhill. We cancelled our booking within the cancellation windows due to a conflict to our schedule. The emailed us back on May 24 to confirm "Your reservation has been canceled and your refund process will begin which will take 4 to 8 business weeks to reflect". Well seriously 4-8 weeks? I understand it is Covid but holding someone's money for 8 weeks is not even an illegal way to do business. But I waited for 8 weeks anyways because honestly there is nothing I could do at that time. After 8 weeks, no refund. I reached out again on August 4 and literally asked what the hell is going on and where is the refund that you promised in your policy. On Aug 5th, they replied and said "We would like to confirm your full refund is being processed. In advance, we would like to offer an apology for the time that the refund process will take; this should take from 40 upto 60 business days" So technically they want me to wait for another 2 months for the refund?! And they lied to us saying that the charge was refunded but it never was? The activities are great, but if you think that if something come up with your travel plan and you need to cancel it no matter when, don't even think that you will get that money back at all. read more

We took the trip to Balandra Bay in La Paz with Cabo Adventures. Mario, Leo and their fantastic 5 member crew member did a very nice job. They provided clear instructions and kept the food and drinks flowing. We Appreciated how they operated with safety in mind, always caring for the environment around them. We did two excursions with Cabo Adventures. The dolphin experience and the Camel riding. The trainers with the dolphins were great and they gave us plenty of time with them. The camel rides were also so much fun. The camel excursion included an eco tour when and we interacted with a donkey and some goats and two parrots. All animals were rescues and appear to be very well taken care of. The camel ride was amazing. They take you along the beach and take pics of you as you're riding. Along with a drone following you around. Of course picture packages are offered. But they did a great job as well. Both of these I think are a must do when in Cabo read more

Boat left 30 minutes late. We were charged $10 extra per person ($50) for a taxi ride that would have cost $20 round trip. They also only run return rides on the hour and expected us to wait around for 40 minutes for a ride back to our hotel. Snorkeling was very short and they did not disclose that we would be transported in an inflatable raft and not an actual boat.
